daveoftherovers Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 So is Nonda currently free from injury? Do people think it likely that he will start against Sheffield United? Hughes brough Ooijer straight into the team, I wonder if he'll do the same with Nonda. He'll be on the bench IMO. Hope he comes on and bags a couple though !

Presty On Tour Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 nonda has been given the number 9 shirt kuqi used to have. he will be on the bench against sheff united imo, an impact sub!!!!
AxesFirstTouch Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Great signing, Roberts will be on the bench. Hopefully Roberts can hone his Paul Dickov-esque finishing more.

G Somerset Rover Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 (edited) The way Hughes was talking about him (Nonda), don't be suprised to see Roberts on the bench come Sat. Edited September 6, 2006 by Somerset Rover!
Ozz Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 The most obvious song for the guy is Help Me Rhonda by The Beach Boys. All you would have to do is whenever the word "Rhonda" would normally be sung, replace it with the surname of our player, IE Nonda. Then the last line of the chorus, would be "Help me Nonda yea, go and score us a goal."
ihtd Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Roberts benched Nonda starts That would make me very happy as JR hasn't impressed me the slightest bit thus far even if he has only had three games.

Or use Ant and Dec's classic ON THE BALL It's Nelsen to Lucas, Lucas to Emo Emo to Savage, Savage To Reid Reidy to Morten, Morten to Benny Benny to Nonda to nod He's NONDA goal He's NONDA goal He's NONDA goal He's NONDA goal He's NONDA goal He's NONDA goal He's NONDA goal [gets coat]
Flopsy Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 whats worse is that youve spent the last few days coming up with that one

Ste B Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 whats worse is that youve spent the last few days coming up with that one No, i've been looking for a copy of Moderating for Dummies to send you
Ricky Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 It's alright Flops, I'll lend you my copy. It's in good condition apart from thenodrog chapter, thats extremely well used.
G Somerset Rover Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Looking at Nonda's record on the official site he hasn't started more than 7 games in one season since 02/03. This is worrying and lets just hope that the gamble pays off. He was almost world class quite some time ago...at least he has something to prove here I suppose.
RoyRover Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I know it's an obvious thing to say, but I really think this deal could go either way. He could recapture something close to his old potential and score a good few goals for us and turn out to be another master stroke in the transfer market by Hughes. Or he could fail to regain his form after all the injuries he suffered and not really make an impact. I hope and believe that it could be the first one.

But if it turns out to be the second one we can always send him back to Roma; nicely packaged of course.

You haven't really said anything at all there Roy have you?
s_simpson_9 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I couldn't get Unleaded's Nonda clip to work. However, I just went on You-Tube and found the "Nonda breaking his leg footage". As far as leg injuries, knee injuries and ankle injuries go, I dont think you could get any worse. On the You-tube version you can see bone coming out of his leg. Fair play to him making it back on the pitch.
Gav Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Hughes said on Radio Lancs last night that he'll probably not feature this weekend due to him missing his flight back to England after international duty. Silly boy.....

AxesFirstTouch Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Anyone know how Shaba did whilst on international duty? did he play full 90s?
