Finch Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 First away win, clean sheet, Burnley lose and have a player sent off and Stanley come from behind to rescue a point ... Not a bad day all round This must put us in the top half right?

Bondi-Rover Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Woo-hoo! eventually worked outthe commentary on rovers.co.uk - it works with a Mac afterall! nonda sounding like he's showing a bit of promise which is great news.
AussieinUk Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) This must put us in the top half right? Yes - 10th now, I believe. Edited September 23, 2006 by AussieinUk

AxesFirstTouch Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) Emerton was Rovers best player, he looks a better right back then Neil at the moment, he was excellent going forward, very unlucky not to score near the end with a great run and shot. Rovers really should have by more goals, but again didnt create enough chances. Zurab was pretty crap, hes a good backup defender but will cause more harm then good. One gripe why the hell doesnt Hughes bring on Gally earlier? Edited September 23, 2006 by wakefieldrawks
1864roverite Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 got to say its a great result for Rovers. Rovers now have some momentum building with the European game on Thursday quickly followed by Wigan at home. Bring it on.
Salgados Hair Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Nonda and Benni gets my vote too for the pairing up front. We will need all the class we can muster against Mr Woodgate (T.Henry in his pocket last week!) 1-0 Rovers, Nonda to grab his first goal. Yay me!! Nice result today, sets us up nicely for Thursday. C'mon Rovers!
brfcshabba Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 we are 9th not 10th comon rovers! We are 10th not 9th come on Rovers! BBC Table
brfcjon Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 does anyone no where I can find the goal online? Thanks Rovers for putting my negative expectations to bed regarding defence. Managed a clean sheet and scored 1. Lovely!
tony gale's mic Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 just two points off the pace from where we finished last season...things don't look so gloomy after all!
West Sussex Rover Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Zurab was pretty crap, hes a good backup defender but will cause more harm then good. Oh my god, Zurab has one bad game after all good games and we should drop him! Hell! lets bring Todd back, or even Matteo!!??
krislu Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Great win and a cleen sheet! Can't get much better than that.
AxesFirstTouch Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Oh my god, Zurab has one bad game after all good games and we should drop him! Hell! lets bring Todd back, or even Matteo!!?? Where did I say drop him?
yellowsubmarine Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Oh my god, Zurab has one bad game after all good games and we should drop him! Hell! lets bring Todd back, or even Matteo!!?? No, lets re-sign Amoruso instead.
RoyRover Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I'm delighted with this win, it was important to get our first away win and keep a clean sheet. It was good that Nonda scored as well, this could give him more confidence to get back to where he once was. With Celtic beating Rangers and Europe winning in the Ryder Cup, it's been a good day all round. Now all it takes is for Notre Dame Fighting Irish to win today for it to be a clean sweep.
Radagast Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Good result, with important factors like the first away win (and goal!), Nonda scoring on his first start, a good Oojier performance (so I hear) and a clean sheet making for a very satisfying and encouraging Saturday afternoon.
West Sussex Rover Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Where did I say drop him? QUOTE(wakefieldrawks @ Sep 23 2006, 17:04 ) Zurab was pretty crap, hes a good backup defender Erm??? Sounded like you wanted to drop him to the bench, i mean surely saying he is a good backup player means there is someone who should be playing ahead of him...? Oh and before anyone says it, he's the wrong side of central defence to be replaced by Nelsen...
yellowsubmarine Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 This clean sheet will do the entire defence's morale a great deal.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Excellent result and confidence must be high now for Salzburg come Thursday!!
ElTwis Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Don't really know where to post this so it'll have to be here, does anyone know if the Salzburg match is to be televised this thursday?
frosty Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Great result, delighted at the defence and Ooijer and Nonda also.
Modi Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) Just got home and a thoroughly uplifting performance by Rovers. From start to finish there was only going to be one winner, although the central defence did a few good impressions of someone opening a pair of curtains, especially in the first half. Very impressed with Nonda. Emerton was excellent again, and he deserved a goal for his run where he outmuscled their palyers. Toogs was stupid for this yellow card, but apart from that was great. Some other random points: The Mickey Gray chant was superb and I'm sure he was laughing at it. That was banter for those who defend the chants in the Salzburg thread. Why did SAS get thrown out? And did anyone see Jordan? I didn't and I didn't hear him either. Has he broken his consecutive run? Edited September 23, 2006 by Modi
Mr. E Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 really wasn't expecting the 3 points today, fantastic that we got them anyway! Sounds like Boro didn't trouble us much at all. Can't wait to see Nonda's goal. Let's keep it rolling.
