USABlue Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 A quite ridiculous situation really. When millions of fans from all over the world can descend on Germany, drink all day in FIFA fan parks then rock up at the grounds and buy MORE beer to take to their seats whilst watching the World Cup final fixtures ... ... not 2 months later we're back to UEFA and stupid rules banning beer anywhere in the grounds (and closing off a valuable revenue stream for the clubs involved). Boooooo to UEFA! UEFA, Unacceptable Environment For Alcoholics

tony gale's mic Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 (edited) i like my beer, but i've never understood the absolute need for a beer inside the ground. i mean you can always drink before and after the match anyway, so long as you're not too drunk so they won't let you in. doctorryan Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Does anyone know the dates for the group stage matches? Might aswell be an optomist and book them off work now Group stage Matchday 1 - 19.10.2006 Matchday 2 - 02.11.2006 Matchday 3 - 23.11.2006 Matchday 4 - 29/30.11.2006 Matchday 5 - 13/14.12.2006
Eddie Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 A quite ridiculous situation really. Boooooo to UEFA! They would probably argue that there will be much less security and that they will be able to exercise much less control over the ground and that because of that it is best not to mix alcohol with two groups of fans from different countries who might have dangerous groups of supporters. I'm not saying that I would do the same, but I do understand it and don't believe it will ruin the game for supporters.
pick32 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 4-1 rovers nonda x2 savage bentley there keeper looks terrible n make alot of blunders i dont think he will be able to cope with the blackburn fans winding him up and we will force lots of errors out of him.
doctorryan Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 who are the other teams that could be in our gorup should we get through? Do we know? or is there another draw to determine that? Anyway i'm going for 2-0 Nonda and Benni Mac to do the business! Draw is Tuesday, October 3. The 40 remaining clubs are split into 5 pots based on their UEFA coefficients ranking; one from each pot for each group.
Flopsy Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 but surely UEFA could relax the rules for us, knowing what dreadful record we have in Europe surely they recognise our fans need for alcohol to stop the pain of another dismal european night of football
berkshireblue Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I'm coming up for this one as a season ticket holder, which means another 1am return so we better win... 2 - 0 Nonda and BENTLEY
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Zickler a major doubt for Thurday according to their site.
RoyRover Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 That's good news about Zickler, he's a good player. Weren't we interested in him a couple of seasons ago? I think we'll win this one 2-0, Nonda and McCarthy to score.
Quack Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 3-1 to Rovers don't care who scores. 13,000 crowd.
Chris_Roe Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Not at all confident.. so lets go a positive option 0 - 0... clean sheet AND we go through
Cheshireblue Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 No need to be nervous. McCarthy has won the champions league for God's sake, so this tie will be taken very easiliy in our stride. I feel a rout coming on with McCarthy leading it. 5-0 Rovers, and we march into the group stages.
krislu Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Here you can read what the Salzburgers think about the game Ich bin grundsätzlich was Salzburg Spiele betrifft optimistisch, daher glaub ich wir haben die schlechte Partie gegen Blackburn schon gespielt. Jetzt kommt erst die GUTE!!! (bei Valencia wars umgekehrt) So they like us
Presty On Tour Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 i just hope we don't sit back and defend our away goals advantage and play for a 0-0. it will all end in tears if we do this imo. if we get the first goal and attack them, we are cruising into the group stages.

I don't want to imagine paying to watch 90+ minuets of Rovers sitting back inviting pressure to defend a 0 - 0. OK so we qualify, but that aint gonna get bums on seats and give pleasure to Rovers fans. ATTACK, ATTACK, ,ATTACK,ATTACK,ATTACK!!!!!!
OhmiBRFC Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 i just hope we don't sit back and defend our away goals advantage and play for a 0-0. it will all end in tears if we do this imo. if we get the first goal and attack them, we are cruising into the group stages. i've said that, we cant invite salzburg to score
daveoftherovers Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 We'll win, attendance, above 21k MH, PLEASE BURY THIS EURO CURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
