Anyone interested in meeting up and watching this weekends Liverpool and Rover game in the city somewhere? Game is telecast on fox at midnight saturday night.

There are a few decent places to watch it. :rover:

Already a bunch of scousers coming, would like to see some other rover supporters wearing the blue and white other than myself :P

given a little more notice, i would have made the trip north. other than liverpool, i am gonna be in sydney for new year and the first week afterwards, so if rovers have a game when i am there, then count me in. oh, while i'm at it sydney rovers will be in it too!!

Fingers crossed the rovers game will be telecast during the time your up in sydney.

If memory serves me correctly our game was telecast last year on new years day.

This raises the question of should we have a saturday arvo meet up sometime soon? Do we have one before Christmas or wait until the New Year, when there should be a few guys in town for the test match, or both?

I can't make the w/e of 11/11 I'll be in Cairns, (if there's anyone up there) or 9th December.

Any thoughts?

personally speaking, the new year would be perfect for me. as you lads know i am in sydney for the test match, and along with my pal who is coming over from england, we would love to meet up with you all again. I am hoping that the new year would suit and be more convenient for everybody, cause as you say, there is a chance that more rovers fans will be in town for the test match.

can't wait to tasts that blue tongue at the nelly!!

Got things on this Saturday, so won't be able to make an appearance.

Still haven't been to a meetup yet, looking forward to the next one.

Next time have it organised a few weeks in advance and will definetly be coming.

Would have liked to have organised it earlier. But foxsports couldn't tell me if it was going to be telecast.

Looks like i'll be watching the game with a bunch of lunatic scousers by myself. ( myself been the onlyrover )

Gawd help me !! :rover:

Surley there is a rover in sydney who will wear the blue and white halves with me :D

For anyone that is interested. It looks like a few of us are going to watch the game tommorrow night at

Star City Casino in the sports section with the big tele.

I'll be the tall guy ( 6'"6 ) wearing the rovers jersey serving out plenty of shight to the liverpool supporters. So if you see me say g'day :rover:

Hey Boys, myself, SteB and several other Lancastrians will be over in Oz for the cricket from 19th December. We'll be in Sydney from New Years Eve til 9th January. We are also down in Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test. Would be great to meet up with you if you fancy a few beers. A Sydney meet up for the test would suit us down to the ground. Anyone need any of the tat from the store, let me know via PM and we will get it over to you.

We will deffiently organise something. With a bit of luck there will be a rovers game telecast.

Ive got a few idea's of where we can go.

Got plenty of time to organise.

the lord nelson just round the corner from the rocks, is a favoured watering hole when i am in sydney. does a good pint and they also have alternative beers, like what we have never heard of before...it is also a nice place to drink. i know sydney rovers will be in on that, but hey....since when has he turned down the chance for a good session :ph34r:

lets get options from other folks who know sydney too!!

Belgian Beer Cafe is always good. Ofcourse plenty of good places within the rocks.

A few good pubs in woolomooloo. Tillbury, wooly bay hotel etc...

Elephant And Wheelbarrow in Paddo is also good.

Agree Blueboy, and it's the choice of Sydney based Rovers fans since 2003. Just hope I don't have another incident like the last few times I've been there. :blink:

Seeing as JPW and the other lads are here till the 9th, maybe a Saturday afternoon session on the 6th of January might be a good idea.

No that was The Orient, and we haven't been back there since. Anyway at the Lord Nelson, atmosphere is better, the food is better (pie. mash, and peas :D) and the beer is a lot better at the Lord Nelson.

what on earth are you referring to ste... :rolleyes:

that is sr's fave joint, but does a cracking banquet though. by the way Sydney Rovers...if the test match is finished before the final day in sydney, then count me and my pal in for a good session of ale at the nelly.
