roverthemoon Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Sky Sports News reporting that Benni has said he will not play for Blackburn Rovers again.
Hughesy Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Sky Sports News reporting that Benni has said he will not play for Blackburn Rovers again. Really? Fine him the maximum allowed then....and then sell him. 1
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Sky Sports News reporting that Benni has said he will not play for Blackburn Rovers again. Very professional Benni... Kicking up a stink could reduce the offer for him even further. I suspect Gold and Sullivan will be salivating over the disharmony and will put in a lower bid to help "take an unhappy player off our hands".
dillo_dillo Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Sky Sports News reporting that Benni has said he will not play for Blackburn Rovers again. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. 1
G Somerset Rover Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hardly suprising that he has said this - just didn't think that he'd be so public about it. I think we all knew that as soon as the Hammers made their interest public that Benni would want to be off in a heartbeat. He doesn't like Sam & Sam doesn't like him. Best for all concerned now just to meet halfway in the price difference and let him be on the way. I was hoping that Roberts would be sacrificed for Beattie.
ABBEY Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 zzzams fault for treating him like hes ######!!!!!! 1
S15 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 zzzams fault for treating him like hes ######!!!!!! I love it. You've just crossed the boundary into completely irrational over everything involving Allardyce. Now we can get some real ridiculous stuff thrown around Abs, now let's be 'avin you!!
Guest Kamy100 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Benni should have kept quiet and let the club sort out the terms etc, however it doesn't help that Sam has been in the press for the last two months saying that he will sell him. Sad all round, i think we have seen the last of him playing for Rovers.
tcj_jones Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I'm getting De Ja Vu from a few seasons back when he was angling for a move to Chelsea.
Hughesy Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) So who has Benni been talking to? Some dodgy radio station back in SA? Taking lessons off a certain Crocky? Edited January 25, 2010 by Hughesy
Ricky Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I can see Abbey's point to a certain degree. Sam hasn't done well in all of this. He's basicaly been in the press saying Benni's for sale and Benni's not performing well enough, and Benni's not fit. Think Sam could have kept some of it in house and then maybe Benni wouldnt have felt the need to do the same thing and get his message out there in the press. 3
rog of the rovers Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I have always liked Benni, but, I think its time he moved on. He has harboured for a move for a while now, and given his age and temperament, £2.5m - £3m is good business for Rovers. Rovers are clearly trying to lower the average age of the squad and with youngsters like Kalinic and Olsson coming through they deserve a chance to shine. A 32 year old with limited motivation and little or no pace is only going one way.
TimmyJimmy Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I said a quite a few posts back that Benni was a toxic influence in the dressing room, now it makes it into the public arena. Goes to show that it's often the invisible behind the scenes stuff that explains why a player doesn't play and we are left bemoaning the alternative on-pitch selections. Giving him away would be a good option right now, a transfer fee would be icing on the cake IMO. Disruption in a dressing room equals relegation. Get shut and let him and the porno kings think they've won. Chickens coming home to roost etc..
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Just seen SSN talking about it now, backs up what Rover the Moon said earlier. He told the reporter he didn't attend training on friday, hasn't gone in today and won't be playing for Rovers again. He wants to leave and West Ham is his prefered destination. It's foolish for McCarthy, because he runs the risk of severing all ties, which won't do his WC prospects a whole lot of good.

I just caught the end of that as well. Basically he seemed to be saying he had no intention of returning to Blackburn (the area) SSN turned it into a bit of a PR piece for him, inferring how he was out of favour at Ewood and should be allowed to leave etc etc
rog of the rovers Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Tell him he can join the Hammers at 15:01 on Saturday afternoon.

Got to ask, why does Dunny not want to sign a contract? why does Hoilett not want to sign a new contract ? why is MGP looking elsewhere? What are the problems at the club or should I say WHO are the problems at the club ? 2

LeChuck Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Got to ask, why does Dunny not want to sign a contract? why does Hoilett not want to sign a new contract ? why is MGP looking elsewhere? Who says we want to offer Dunn and MGP new contracts? Both have to do more before now and the end of the season to earn that right, especially if either are trying to get a wage rise. Hoilett is a strange one. If he's got his heart set on going back to Germany then there is not much we can do about that. If West Ham get Benni, Rovers will go down and dissapear off into oblivion forever. Really? I had no idea selling one of your substitutes could have such a devastating effect. Fife Rover Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I'm getting De Ja Vu from a few seasons back when he was angling for a move to Chelsea. And even further back when he was having a strop at Porto. He used exactly the same tactics there until Rovers moved in to "rescue" him.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I'm a bit wary of selling him, we need to make sure we buy someone who can stick chances away because if Kalinic goes out of form we'd be relying on Roberts and Di Santo to score...
Backroom Tom Posted January 25, 2010 Backroom Posted January 25, 2010 I've always defended benni but this latest episode is a disgrace and an insult to the fans who chant his name everyweek. No matter how he feels about the manager he has insulted the club by doing this if it's as reported. Fine him the maximum possible then get as much as we can which will now be considerably less
JAL Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 If West Ham get Benni, Rovers will go down and dissapear off into oblivion forever. You've got an extremely limited knowledge of Blackburn Rovers football club and Blackburn in general which for me and you being a Burnley fan..is good.
