gazsimm Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) i agree, but he is in and out of the side and will play even fewer matches, once hargreaves signs. he'd be an option, IF man utd are willing to loan him out. sorry mate i can't see it happen just like the Eidur Gudjohnson saga you told us about Edited November 7, 2006 by gazsimm

LeChuck Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 i agree, but he is in and out of the side and will play even fewer matches, once hargreaves signs. Fletcher plays mainly on right for Man Utd, signing Hargreaves will just mean that they won't have to play O'Shea or Giggs in central midfield as often.
pleasure Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Fletcher plays mainly on right for Man Utd, signing Hargreaves will just mean that they won't have to play O'Shea or Giggs in central midfield as often. maybe. however, he only plays on the right.... when ronaldo is either injured, or replacing giggs on the left or Ole Gunnar Solskjær is injuried. added to that, utd have a couple of great prospects coming through their reserves (namely richie and david jones) my personal opinion is fletcher wont be at man u much longer.
Presty On Tour Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'd prefer us to sign Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote! i hope not, where ever that woman goes, people start getting murdered! we've got enough injuries and problems with our attendences already. she would wipe us out!
West Sussex Rover Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) added to that, utd have a couple of great prospects coming through their reserves (namely richie and david jones) God his parents must be so cruel... I bet he gets a lot of stick... Edited November 7, 2006 by Rover The Moon
LeftWinger Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 i hope not, where ever that woman goes, people start getting murdered! we've got enough injuries and problems with our attendences already. she would wipe us out! Matteo, Gray and Mokoena in Murder Mystery! GET HER IN NOW!
AxesFirstTouch Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) God his parents must be so cruel... I bet he gets a lot of stick... Have we all missed something? David Jones is not a normal name where you live? Edited November 7, 2006 by wakefieldrawks
Ricky Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 not quite sure why David Jones is such a funny name, must have missed something.
pleasure Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 not quite sure why David Jones is such a funny name, must have missed something. maybe he's a fan of 'the monkees' ?
pleasure Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Or Skysports news good presenter him. he played well in 'the match' a year or so back. maybe he'd solve our midfield crisis ?
West Sussex Rover Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Have we all missed something? David Jones is not a normal name where you live? Davy Jones Locker of course!!!
grizfoot Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I directed some Polish guy to Ewood today, maybe he could be a new signing. Didn't look much like a footballer though
Billy Castell Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Maybe The Riverside stand is to be developed into a hotel/stand complex after all.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I directed some Polish guy to Ewood today, maybe he could be a new signing. Didn't look much like a footballer though Probably the agent of an Eastern European wonder kid.
James No. 7 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I wouldn't say we are short of that kind of midfielder at all! Bentley, Peter and Gallagher are all precisely that sort. You could even argue that McCarthy can fill that role. What we need desperatley is a decent ball winner. I would only play Bentley in a central midfield role out of all of those players. Arguably none of those players are natural (attacking) centre midfielders either, and Peter and Gallagher are simply not good enough to play in that position (why would Hughes be starting Mokoena in a four-man midfield then?).

LDRover Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I directed some Polish guy to Ewood today, maybe he could be a new signing. Didn't look much like a footballer though More like the new cheap labour to clean the s***houses on matchdays.
bob fleming Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Bit harsh that LD, sure they've lost 3 on the bounce in the league but they're doing well in Europe.
SouthAussieRover Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Another midfielder may be set for a trial.
gazsimm Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Another midfielder may be set for a trial. sign him on i say
West Sussex Rover Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Another midfielder may be set for a trial. LMAO!!!
pleasure Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 if, as looks likely, man u sign hargreaves (in jan) and money is tight at rovers - i wouldnt be suprised if we loaned fletcher. i'm not saying he's the greatest but, looking at it logically, he'd do a job. errrrrrr...... fletcher was a disgrace to his profession last night and was outshone by david jones. i'd like to humbly apologise for suggesting we'd sign him on loan. ludicrous.

Arguably none of those players are natural (attacking) centre midfielders either, and Peter and Gallagher are simply not good enough to play in that position (why would Hughes be starting Mokoena in a four-man midfield then?). If we didn't play the axe our midfield would be totally overrun. I cannot think of a midfield of any period that did not have at least one player who could put a tackle in the middle of the park, it's suicide! What we need is a player better than the axe at carrying the water- winning the ball and distributing it well.
