Finch Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I fancy a draw and a replay. Could go either way. Dunno the stats on this (maybe someone could come up with the details) but I dont remember the last time we drew someone outside the top 2 divisions in the fa cup ... ball number 5 is definately not one of the heated ones!
Eddie Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Not a good draw, hopefully we can make it through though.
RevidgeBlue Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Looking forward to that one. Should be a cracking traditional good old day out if it's not moved from 3 p.m Saturday.
frosty Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Everton away was one of the ties I didnt want. Bring 'em back to Ewood and we'll be fine though.
Cocker Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 To be honest, I wouldnt mind going out and consentrating on our europe run. We havent got the squad for two good cup runs and a good Prem fight. So I will settle for the European Cup and Champs League finish this year
Neil Weaver Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I dont remember the last time we drew someone outside the top 2 divisions in the fa cup January 2005 v Colchester?
tonygreenbank Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 December 3rd 2005 we lost 2-0 to Everton. I was talking to my daughter about that game as she came with her boss who is an Evertonian. I was watching the Sunday game which was Everton at home to West Ham. It just had to be Everton in the draw!.
Jordan Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Looking forward to that one. Should be a cracking traditional good old day out if it's not moved from 3 p.m Saturday. I doubt it will be as Liverpool play Arsenal and that will most likely be on the Sunday therefore Everton should play on the Saturday.
philipl Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 When we had been relegated back in 1966, Everton away was the only first division draw we ever seemed to get in the FA Cup. Certainly remember a 3-0 defeat and a 2-0 defeat at Goodison.
grizfoot Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 What a crap draw. Thats us probably out. At least it would give us time to concentrate on the league and UEFA cup.
Fife Rover Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 What a crap draw. Thats us probably out. At least it would give us time to concentrate on the league and UEFA cup. Probably better if we make a quick exit. You don't want to be fighting on too many fronts with depleted forces.
Neil Weaver Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 When we had been relegated back in 1966, Everton away was the only first division draw we ever seemed to get in the FA Cup. Certainly remember a 3-0 defeat and a 2-0 defeat at Goodison. There was a cracking game in the 80s : 3 - 1. That was when we were mid-table in Div 2 and Everton were a top side in Div 1 (with Lineker et al). Think they got to the final that year. Seem to remember they went two up then we had a purple patch for 15 mins culminating in Windy skinning his full back, his cross met beautifully by Pat van den Hauwe (just ahead of SG I think) and bulleting into the top corner. We were optimistic for a few minutes after that till that bloody crisp advertiser got Everton's third.
rog of the rovers Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 If you want to win the FA Cup you gotta beat teams like Everton. That said I would prefer a Premiership win at Goodison than an FA Cup one.
boris bear Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 What a crap draw. Thats us probably out. Plus it's a rubbish ground with a rubbish view.
pleasure Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Plus it's a rubbish ground with a rubbish view. and..... you get spat at and coins thrown at you by the scum in the upper tier. got a feeling it'll be chosen as the BBC sunday night game.

Around 5-6,000 Rovers fans there that day-I went on the coach, they were tons of them lined up along Stanley Park. That was a superb Everton team, I remember watching Lineker and thinking how awesome his finishing was. The jug-earred @@@@.
bazza Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Lousy draw. But why all the pessimism? We don't need a draw to bring them back to Ewood. Sparky's stars will win. AND win the league match too. After all we did it to Boro.
Manchester Blue Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Liverpool v Arsenal is live on BBC1 at 17.15 on the Saturday. I would assume this means we have to play on the Sunday regardless of whether it is televised.
Jordan Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Liverpool v Arsenal is live on BBC1 at 17.15 on the Saturday. I would assume this means we have to play on the Sunday regardless of whether it is televised. Confirmation of 15:00 kickoff on SUNDAY 7th January 2007
Jordan Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Confirmation of ticket news. £20 for season ticket holders seems very fair however I cannot see us selling the full 3039 allocation. I have never seen it before where away tickets are cheaper for Season Ticket holders than non-season ticket holders.
