The deal included shirt sponsorship at a time when there were literally no other options. As Jan has said, substantial cash gets paid to the club no matter what gets sold in the shop. So, we have Lonsdale on the front of the shirts for one season, but the entire merchandising arm of the Rovers business has gone right up the shoot. We're one of only 20 premiership clubs and if done correctly by our so-called marketing experts, we should be securing better quality sponsorship deals. Its a disgrace that Rovers have submitted the rights to market their brand to some two bob bit "Closing Down Sale" type jumble sale. That said, if we do retain an interest in how our products are marketed by SW, then that in itself is further proof that heads should roll.
