stuwilky Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 the reason i think he has been recalled is because he has got injured and i think rovers would prefer to treat him themselves He's recovered from that injury and was due to play last night in their postponed trip to Tranmere.

AxesFirstTouch Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Hopefully Mokoena wont be in the first 16, a complete waste of a team spot. Derbyshire and Benny to start.
DudeAbides Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Come on ROVERS!!! 2-1 to us Derbyshire to score...
den Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 ROVERS: Friedel, Neill, Todd, Tugay, Savage, McCarthy, Bentley, Gamst, Ooijer, McEveley, Gray. Subs: Brown (GK), Nonda, Matteo, Derbyshire, Peter.
Lathund Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 (edited) How does that line up? Neill at RM, or Neill/Ooijer/Todd as an anchorman? Or are we playing a 3-5-2/3-6-1 ? Or perhaps Gray at LM, with Gamst upfront? Or Gamst at RM with Bentley upfront... meh, I have no idea. Edited December 16, 2006 by Lathund
den Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Ped up front, with Gray in midfield? Or maybe 5 in midfield and Benni on his own up front. I dunno.
krislu Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Very strange line up. First sign of desperation by Hughes? I remember the days when no-one had a clue what our lineup would look like when Souness was in charge. Having said that, Hughes must try something, because what we have done lately surely aint working.
FourLaneBlue Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 We obviously don't have anyone other than Benni likely to score so why bother with two up front away from home? 4-5-1 (I guess it's that???) is a good decision for this game considering how woeful our recent performances away from home playing 4-4-2 again. Rather amazed Jay is in the side though. Pedersen in central midfield with either Gray or McEveley on the left wing?
den Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I would guess McCarthy up front with Ped just behind him.
den Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Charlton losing at home to Liverpool 0-3. Good news.
rover6 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 (edited) I'm guessing that McEveley will be on the left wing and Gamst up front. Jay on the wing would make sense (in a way) because apparently he was quite good going forward against Nancy but worrying defensively. It's a bold move by Hughes - whatever that move may be. Mokoena injured? Matteo makes the bench, one for the scrap-book. Edited December 16, 2006 by rover6
FourLaneBlue Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Charlton losing at home to Liverpool 0-3. Good news. Oh great...are we back to the days of worrying how the teams in the relegation zone do? All we need now is for Hughes to pick three centre halves and three left-sided players in the starting lineup and it will be like the end of the Souness era! Hey, wait a minute....
joey_big_nose Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 (edited) Or 5-4-1 even? I'm a little suprised, I take it the Axe is unfit or he would certianly start in a 451. Bizzare lineup. i can't quite believe McEverley is playing. Maybe: -------------McCarthy ---Gray--------------------Bentley ---------Pedersen Tugay ----------------Savage ----McEverly Todd Ooijer Neill ------------------Freidal This is a bit of a slap in the face for Peter if it is 451 Edited December 16, 2006 by joey_big_nose
roversmum Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Ihope somebodyknows what the formation is to be..............................the players perhaps? Never mind. COME ON ROVERS!
RevidgeBlue Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Proof of the pudding will be in the eating, but I can't see us getting anything at all with that formation. What we need is the eleven on the pitch to actually start performing in a normal 4-4-2 not revert to an unworkable line up.
budha Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Comes live at Canal+ in Finland and they've drawn the formation as 4-1-4-1 Friedel Neill-Ooijer-Todd-Gray Tugay Bentley-Savage-Gamst-McEveley McCarthy But I guess we'll just need to wait and see what it actually is.
AxesFirstTouch Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 What a stupid line up, Surely Gally should be on the LW where Mcevely is.
budha Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Comes live at Canal+ in Finland and they've drawn the formation as 4-1-4-1 McEveley seems to be playing at LB and Gray above him. Otherwise the suggested 4-1-4-1 seems accurate .. for now
Daremz Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Jay booked That makes sense, he'll get his second yellow before half time, and we're with 10 again, a good excuse for a loss. Get McEvely out! He's even worse than Moekona divided by 10.
AxesFirstTouch Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 could have been a Red on another day though
