Why are they not having their passports removed before leaving this country - as happened extensively before the World Cup? Those powers are still in place.

Seeing as you (and therefore presumably your colleagues) have identified the problem element, surely they should be prevented from travelling at all?

And if they do get to Germany, now you've announced to the world that the local cops want to coop these people up in Leverkusen - well - guess what - the people they want to round up there aren't going to show up!

:wstu:

Do you really honestly think the clowns read this site?

We saw a bit of trouble at the ground going in and I am aware that 15 of our less celebrious supporters got a good hding for their troubles in Rotterdam. I have seen several photos of them in "action".

Unfortunately it would appear that Rovers have no supporters with banning orders for games abroad as we are one fo the best behaved set of supporters.

Further to that not ONE of them officialy got their tickets through the club. :wstu:

not sure where you're getting your info from but a lot of doesn't seem to ring true, for starters there are rovers supporters banned from travelling abroad for this fixture, anybody with a uk banning order will have to surrender their passport for the majority of the week and sign in at the police station on the day of the game.

I have seen 13 supporters on a list that are barred from domestic games and 2 from travelling to England games. Not aware of any Rovers supporters banned from Rovers european games although there probably are.

I can only go with what I am told and if there are then some people are not aware or dont know of it.

top of the list is mr stu wilky

Why is it these constant digs at me go unnoticed by the staff on this site?

My treatment is an absolute disgrace.

Id write a letter of complaint if I didnt think that some dodgy postie would nick it.

Our bus from Rottterdam Centraal to the ferry terminal was held up extensively as the police were looking for specific people due to be on said bus, for what I never found out but I don't think the coppers were giving them a medal for good behaviour.

I think it was something to do with that some lads had smashed an expensive item in a shop the night of the game.

Thats what was being said on our coach on way to docks

One thing I would say to everyone is that the German police are by far the best I have seen at dealing with football crowds and potential 'problem matches'. I was over there for the England 5-1 in Munich, spent three weeks at last summer's World Cup and have been to a few domestic games over there - the police were absolutely superb every time.

They have experienced huge hooligan problems in their domestic league and the battle for the police is still going on (particularly in the lower leagues) but they do a fantastic job. They have a policy of being freindley and understanding as opposed to other nations (anyone been to Slovakia!?!) who have a zero tolerance policy.

You'll also find that German people are a very welcoming and friendley bunch. I know a lot of people who were over there for the World Cup who would now think twice before launching into a rendition of "10 German bombers". They returned with much better impressions of Germany than they prior to their trip.

I have been to Germany the last three summers for the Pre-Season tours and I love it. The people are great and the beer is great. Before going to Germany I was given the impression that they were all arrogant however from going there I was extremely wrong.

Not long to go now - In 336 hours time I will be on a flight to Dusseldorf!

I'm posting this in here rather than in the FACup thread because our new found friends from the Breezeblock have been frequenting that thread and I didn't want their responses on this.

It occurred to me this morning that our next FACup game against either Arsenal or Notlob is sandwiched by the two games against Beyer Leverkeusen.

Should we go out of the FACup (which imho is entirely possible) and also lose in the Uefa cup, we will be facing the embarrassing situation of going out of both competitions within the space of a week.:(

This would be reminiscent of this time last year, when we went out of both the FACup and the Carling Cup in the space of three days!

Now I'm not saying that I think it will happen this way, by any means, but it is something to bear in mind seeing as it's the sort of scenario that the media would love to pick up on.

If only we had a bye into the next round of the Uefa cup, but they don't do that sort of thing do they? oh hang on....

Hi All,

Long time viewer first time poster who is need of a spot of help. Myself and a friend are coming over to Ewood for the first time to watch the Leverkusen game (being a broke student for the past 4 years and Ryanairs horrible obsession with taxes meant i couldn't get over any sooner!) and am basically looking for any recommendations on accommodation. Is there any hotels/b&b's/hostels close-ish to Ewood which are half way decent and don't cost an arm and a leg? Decent pubs would be a welcome help aswell :) Already got the flights booked so just getting the other minor matters out of the way!

I stayed in Bratislava when we went over to see northern ireland v austria in vienna, as i was checking into the hotel, there were about 20 northern ireland fans in the hotel bar singing we're not brazil we're northern ireland, when about 10 of bratislavas SAS (police...but they were wearing balaclavas, bulletproofs and carrying big guns!) came in to stop the party!

The following night a slovakian supporter (dont know if he was a hooligan) was killed by russian hooligans (the two were playing in the WCQ's in bratislava)
