Martin Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I'll take 3-1 right now. On the postive side I would have taken draws at both Reading and Arsenal, so to already have 3 points is a huge bonus. Huge games against L'pool and M'boro on the way.

Bobby G Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Cant say we have been too bad, as its been more of a case of Arsenal have been very very good and we have largely played into their hands cause we are trying to take the game to them too, unlike most away sides who sit back and dont give Arsenal that much space. All in all, other than Bentley no one seems like they will cause Arsenal any threat. Pedersen has been lively as well winning most of his headers. Nonda has in a word been poor for me. I cant see how he is better than Kuqi on any level. And at least Kuqi is more active in play.
frosty Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Radio Lancs said we were losing the midfield battle.
philipl Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Watching it live- fantastic game. Arsenal are an absolute joy to watch when they get it right and they have played some absolutely sublime stuff. Never mind the scoreline, this is a very encouraging first half performance by Rovers. Bentley, Nonda and Gamst are all showing well. Once again the big decisions going against us- we have been stopped by 3 very debatable offsides whilst Arsenal have benefited from non-offside calls and a very iffy corner. Rovers probably had more shots on target this half than any other first half this season. Lehman has made two brilliant saves from Bentley.
Bobby G Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 philipl, I beg to differ on the Nonda front. Maybe he has been moving around trying to put a bit of pressure on the defence but when the ball drops at his feet you never feel like he will score and this was epitomized by his left foot mis-hit.
den Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 RVP offside and diving for the pen? Lucas got the ball?
Mr. E Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I seriously question anyone's football understanding who claims that our defenders are not utter sh*t. I mean just look at them. It's not simply that they aren't good enough, they don't give a damn about Rovers at all. Not a single one of them. With the exception of Nelson, the faster we throw them out in the trash on the1 st of Janury, the better. let me illustrate in lexical terms what happens when any opposing team attacks: Opposition: Hey, can we score a goal ? Please, we would really like to. Our defenders: well, I dunno.... Opposition: Aww c'mon! Our defenders: well....alright then, have yourself a goal. On the other hand, I wouldn't swap Bentley for Ronaldino. Amazing first half desplay, he's playing Arsenal on his own.
bringdunnback Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Rovers are doing ok, Arsenal are just brilliant. Bentleys doing really well, as is Pedersen in my opinion. Many of the board members are being too harsh on Rovers, and to clear things up, it was a penalty!
West Sussex Rover Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 One small blessing, when Nelsen is fit again, we get Nesmachny, Zurab is fit again and Emerton is back in defence, how many of the 4 defenders playing today do you think will be in the first team! BENTLEY FOR ENGLAND!!!
philipl Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Spot on WSR- we are in for a fun second half of the season.
West Sussex Rover Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Spot on WSR- we are in for a fun second half of the season. MY GOD SOMEONE AGREED WITH ME, IM SHOCKED!!
Cocker Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Oh my word, Ped had it laid off to the edge of the box and possible hit the corner flag - awful
Mike Graham Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Boro 2 nowt up. We are in a relegation spot for christmas. L/pool and Boro at home are mega games
cn_barlow Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 it could easily be 6 or 7 by the end of this one. Nonda just looks like he cant be bothered and doesn't really want to be there! Bentley is playing well though

sambo Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 he probably wouldnt^^^ we only have him for long shots/set pieces(which are rarely good)
cn_barlow Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 "...and Gamst would not even get in the Burnley side." lets not get carried away!
budha Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Gray off for Derbs.. Emerton to rb, Lucas to lb, bring on 4-4-2?
broadsword Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 We appear to be up the creek, sans paddles.
1864roverite Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 That in all honesty should be the alt time that Gray pulls on a first team shirt for BRFC. Out he goes along with Matteo. Its got a horrible pre Christmas feeling being in the bottom 3
1864roverite Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 3-2 Nonda number 2 !!!! just lets not forget what happened last time we scored here
pick32 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 3-2 game on what odds would you get for nonda hatrick
