stuwilky Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 No he didn't. When asked about his Rovers future he said that you'd have to ask the manager or chairman but, as far as he was concerned, he's a Blackburn player and, unless he agrees a new deal towards the end of the season, he would leave at the end of his contract in the summer. So he basically repeated what we all already knew already. He answered it very honestly I thought.

RoyRover Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 We should definately be looking to win this one. Wigan are on a bad run and have big injury problems, so we should take advantage of this. 2-1 to Rovers.
Flopsy Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I wish all Rovers fans could have shared my confidence. You mean Stella? Rovers to lose, Heskey Hat trick

So he basically repeated what we all already knew already. Well if that's what he said yesterday it's rubbish. He's trying to make it sound there like it's out of his control, he hasn't been offered a new deal and it's the club's doing. There's been at least one new deal on the table for him since the summer, which to my knowledge hasn't been withdrawn, and he is refusing to sign one. It's nothing to do with the Club at all. As for Wigan, our defenders will have to be a bit more resolute than they have been at times this season to contain Heskey but a very winnable fixture nonetheless. Could have sworn we had another game first though.

roversWASmylife Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Hopefully will go to this, trying to encourage a few others to go along as well. If not I'll be there on my tod, where's everyone drinking prior to game?
Presty On Tour Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 tidy job on the preview roverite. my predictions rovers 1-0 scousers rovers 4-0 boro wigan 0-2 rovers a few goals and some clean sheets to end what has been a well good year to be a rovers fan and to start of the new year in style by demolishing the pie eaters!! I wish all Rovers fans could have shared my confidence. i had the correct score jordan mate!! if the others go to plan then it's happy days in deed!!
Jordan Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Hopefully will go to this, trying to encourage a few others to go along as well. If not I'll be there on my tod, where's everyone drinking prior to game? There is not much around the ground but there is a pub just up from the away end which is often full of Roverites. I have forgotten what it is called but you cannot miss it.

Oakland Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 ...just wonder if Neill will be suspended against boro? (5 yellow cards)?
thenodrog Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 The Orwell, at Wigan Pier. Straight along t'Cut then? Anybody with a narrow boat could provide one hell of a setting for an alighty awayday pissup to rival all others. Put me name down.

Put me name down. Cracking idea Anyone else going on the train? Don't much fancy the idea of hanging about at Preston or Bolton stations on match day waiting for the train to Wigan on my tod. Be good to know there'll be other Roverites about.

Don't much fancy the idea of hanging about at Preston or Bolton stations on match day waiting for the train to Wigan on my tod. Be good to know there'll be other Roverites about. yeah going on the train. I will be going via Manchester and there is one an hour which runds directly to Wigan. If not then you need to go via Bolton but that is only a few minutes wait and I believe Bolton are away to Liverpool. Should be in Wigan for 11:30/12:00. Any of the usual charectors going? Scotty, Manc Blue?
sijoco Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Cheers Jordan, Bolton is looking like the best change. Preston train station ain't the most inviting place for a Blackburner on the morning of a match day
sijoco Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 For anyone else who's going on the train, l've been informed there'll be police on a few stops before, in and after wigan to escort us straight to the ground. That scuppers my hopes of a few shandy's at a local hostelry before the match 0-2 Rovers (MGP free-kick, Benni)
Exiled_Rover Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Hopefully an easy three points is in store for Rovers. Wigan are one of those teams I just hate.

Preston train station ain't the most inviting place for a Blackburner on the morning of a match day  North End are away on a long trip. Ive never had any problems at Preston station, in full regalia.
1864roverite Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 I forecast a Rovers win now on the back of these 2 home victories. Happy New Year Rovers, make it so
Ozz Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Anyone able to give two of us a lift from Chorley to Wigan, will pay/buy drinks etc. Well behaved, house trained etc. PM me for mobile number...
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Tickets will be available on the day at the JJB.
Bobby G Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 With Wigans game today only 55 minutes long and the fact that we have played the same starting lineup the last few games and will have to play again in 48 hours, I think the odds are slightly in their favor.
Quack Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 1-1, Heskey will score his inevitable goal against us, MGP for the blues.
