Modi Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 For Lost fans... Just got back from a holiday in Hawaii and one thing I did was visit some of the places Lost is filmed (off road in places similar to Godzilla, Jurassic Park and umpteen other films). This was a trip in Hummer for a small group and the tour guide was a huge Lost fan and has seen various bits filmed. As I haven't watched the programme at all none of it meant anything to me. However, my mate was thrilled. Did see the nose cone of the plane in it's static location as well. Slight spoiler warning there's a vw camper van in an episode yet to be screened. Actually I did watch an episode when over there (not sure if its been on here yet). Part of it is set in London and there's a poster that says "honor" on it. Pretty shoddy and a pet peeve.

Rovermatt Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I watched the first two episodes of Heroes last night on the Sci-Fi channel. It's pretty good-the Japanese guy is hilarious.

I watched Heroes as well, it was really good. Two episodes,i think they were repeats.I think Monday night is the first showing. It was a bit confusing at first , but i think i'm gripped now. With that and Primeval, that's two good shows ,i'm enjoying. I just want Dr Who back now........I just love Dr Who.
Paul Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 On Sunday I watched Recovery. A gripping account of a family coping with the father's (David Tennant), brain damage. Greta storyline with the lovely Sarah Parish thrown in for good measure.
colin Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 On Sunday I watched Recovery. An account of a family coping with the father's (David Tennant), brain damage. Great storyline with the lovely Sarah Parish thrown in for good measure. I don't usually watch too much telly but I watched that and it was enthalling stuff. Anyone else get to the top of the stairs and then think "Now what did I come up here for?
Rovermatt Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I just watched the first episode of NBC's new drama The Black Donnellys. It's written and created by Paul Haggis (writer/director of Crash, writer of Million Dollar Baby, Casino Royale & Flags Of Our Fathers, creator of Due South) and focuses on the criminal travails of a group of four Irish brothers in New York's Hell's Kitchen. I have to say I'm pretty impressed.
Grabbi Graeme Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Watched the last in the series of Top Gear, more entertaining when they have a challege to do, this time it was to build a limo out of a used car , Clarkson built a Fiat Panda limo, Hammond built one using a MG convertable and James May welded a Saab and a Alfa Romeo together. Clarkson brought the centre of London to a standstill when he tried drive his Panda limo around the streets
Grabbi Graeme Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 It was hilarious especially when Clarkson's limo came apart in the middle.
Bazzanotsogreat Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Top Gear was hilarious this series .BTW Does anyone know when the second series of HBO’s / BBC’s( fantastic ) Rome airs on British TV?. As a haven’t seen anything listed for the upcoming months.

As a haven’t seen anything listed for the upcoming months. I have been wondering this myself. Considering the BBC part own the series you'd have thought they'd at least mentioned it. Maybe they're waiting for it to finish in America first, then it'll come over here.
Flopsy Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 anyone know when House series 3 is on over here in Blighty?

adopted scouser Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Not last night but all afternoon. Sky news are carrying a story where the newsreaders have to quote an MP, who referred to people in the army as a 'Black @#/?', chasing a 'Fat @#/?' who referred to him as a 'Ginger @#/?'. Two of the newsreaders have corpsed trying to stop laughing. Funniest thing I've seen in ages
ewoodblue Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I've got Virgin Media ,and they've taken the Sky 1 and other some other Sky channels off.I'm a bit disappointed with Sky for the way they've gone about it. Virgin have served noticed to Sky on March 5th ,that they have a month to sort it out ,or Virgin are taking them to court. Hopefully they'll win ,and i can get my favourite programs ,like Lost and 24 back.

They are basically trying to make cable so expensive (if you want sky channels) that it forces people to switch to satellite. Actually, the better scenario would be for Sky to lose it's A rated shows, not that it's got that many now. 24, lost and nip/tuck are the only ones I can think of on Sky One.

Biddy Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Well, I've go to admit that out of all of those, I only actually watch nip/tuck and I watched the American versions (finished last December there). In fact, the only program I actively watch on Sky one is Dream Team and that finishes this year. It will then just become another pointless channel. Fair dos to the people who find things to watch on it. Perhaps whatever Sky charge is worth it to them.

Well, apparently Sky want double for the Sky channels ,and they won't allow an independant body set a fair price, but I think there's plenty of channels on the family pack ,anyhow. It's hard to keep up with everything you want to watch.I miss the Sky Travel channel ,more than the others. There was some interesting documentaries on there, but I'm enjoying the new Nt Geo wild channel, dedicated just to the natural world. So,as long as they don 't take Eurosport of, then i suppose I'm happy. In summer Sky want to remove the channels from Freeview as well, but i for one won't be bullied into changing.End of day , i don't think i can get a better service with the b/band ,than the one i have now with Virgin.
Biddy Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 In summer Sky want to remove the channels from Freeview I'm not sure they want to remove them, more change the service and make it a pay option (typically for sky). From what I remember it's something along the lines that they want to buy a bit more space and actually change the frequency on that transponder so they can fit more channels in. Ie, instead of the current three channels they could squeeze in those 3 plus sky one, a movie channel and a sports channel. The problem there is that all existing freeview boxes cannot cope with the different signal therefore Sky would have to sell you their own freeview box plus subscription to get those channels. Still, pretty good alternative if you don't want / can't get satellite or cable. Just wait to see if they are allowed to do it now.

I was considering getting a freeview box a few months ago,and somebody told me that if i do ,to make sure i get one with top up. Like i say, iit's only an option at the moment, but I'm staying put with Virgin until the football season finish's,but i do know a few people with freeview that are worried. I think Sky will come down of their high horse before long.
Jimbo Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Top-Up won't help if Sky move their services off Freeview and onto a pay platform - their intention is a new box, using mpeg4 rather than mpeg2 - so you'll need a totally new box - but that's all likely to change - As far as I'm concerned they can stuff the endless stream of repeats that is Sky One/Two/Three up their @r$£ Sky on DTT
Biddy Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 anyone know when House series 3 is on over here in Blighty? In case you haven't seen, it looks like House season 3 is back next Thursday 9pm Channel 5
Ozz Posted March 16, 2007 Author Posted March 16, 2007 I see the Meat Mincer won Masterchief Goes Large last night. He certainly went large.
Grabbi Graeme Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Not something I watched last night but a show that I think is worth repeating somewhere, it was a show which spoofed The Jerry Springer Show, I think it used to be on Paramount years ago and I think channel 5 showed some episodes as well, maybe our American members will remember it. Nightstand
