adopted scouser Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 The initial weeks of X-Factor are toe-curlingly embarrassing and instantly make you feel better about your own life. And it'll be great telly. Plus Cheryl Cole
Beta Ray Bill Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Slightly off topic, but Bill Cotton died this week. One of the true legends of the TV industry and behind so much of the "golden age" of the 1970s and early 80s BBC. When you see what he had a hand in, it makes you realise how generally poor light entertainment is these days.
Rovermatt Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Yes it is great telly (until it all becomes dealy serious, at which point you must turn off) and Cheryl Cole is gorgeous.
Flopsy Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 oh god, does this mean that ASEF will come on and start drooling/banging on about her and how much of a tosser her husband is?

Pity he isn`t in charge now then we wouldn`t have to put up with the cheap tv they throw down our necks these days. I don`t know about us paying the tv tax (sorry licence ), for the dross currently served they should pay us (olympics aside).
Rovermatt Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 oh god, does this mean that ASEF will come on and start drooling/banging on about her and how much of a tosser her husband is? Yes but he'll post pictures of her in a bikini preceded by a faux righteous morality tale. I can live with that.
Ninja Boi Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Most nights I watch Big Brother, discovery channels, and sky sports, setana sports.
adopted scouser Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 X Factor trail here. What's the music in the backgoround whilst the auditions are taking place ? Pretty sure it's The Who - not sure which track ?!?
adopted scouser Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 X Factor trail here. What's the music in the backgoround whilst the auditions are taking place ? Pretty sure it's The Who - not sure which track ?!? Baba o Riley
Flopsy Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 a great tune, sounds much better when its a decent quality
Mc Love Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Watched the factor x last night, was lousy on that lad that got to the finals of popstars the rivals...i thought they were a bit harsh. I would have put him through and then if he didnt improve, would have let him go
trs Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Baba o Riley X factor does not deserve such a backing track. Absolute classic!
Cocker Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Dont jump on my back if it turns out to be awful but there is a programme starting on Thursday, BBC2 called 'The Cup' (I think about 9PM). I saw a clip for it on Soccer AM and it looked quite good. Got it on Sky + to see anyway
ABBEY Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 watched ..spooks code9 ..before i went to bed this morning, what a load of burnley. If its on your sky+ press yellow.
Billy Castell Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 A load of Burnley...................... The adverts didn't sell it to me. I thought it looked like a typically rubbish BBC 3 show. The tune on that ad put me off too. BBC is quite a naff channel.
cn174 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Anyone else watched Britain from Above? I watched the first episode on iPlayer last night, it is a very good programme. So much happens on our little tiny country that you'd never normally give a second thought to.

Bazzanotsogreat Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Anyone know when Heroes S3 begin on BBC 2? It begins in late Septmber in the US, however the BBC have said that for the first time they are going to show the programme without much of a lag. I have searched the internet but can't find a start date- Just that it is Autumn.

Dexters back in the US as well from late September
nowthen Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Fair play to Five for bringing Superstars back (the team thing is different approach). I've enjoyed it. Not too bothered about the lack of big names because the original wasn't full of them. What has made it is that they are taking pretty seriously which makes it worth watching.
Nelsta Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Watched Willy Russels classic Our Day Out. Loved it, found it just as funny as i did when i was a teenager. And found myself thinking how good it was to watch a "film" about kids. That wasnt all good looking and models.
Billy Castell Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Watched Pierrepoint on ITV last night. It was really good, an I thought Timothy Spall was brilliant. In case you don't know it was about Albert Pierrepoint, an executioner in the 1940's who managed to hang people in record time, and how he delt with his job and his fame.

It was very good, originally titled 'The Last Hangman' (?????) a TV special was made into a film. Eddie Marsan's a funny looking get.

Sky +'d it and intend to watch very soon. Quite liking 'The Bill' at the minute believe it or not.
