Biddy Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Yep Frankie Boyle is hilarious, mainly because he just comes out and just says things that would get him banned from this site. Mock the Week is just a re-hash of Whose Line is it anyway (same creators) which is still a great program if you manage to catch the many repeats of it on one of the sat channels (can remember which but it's probably Dave!)

adopted scouser Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 1 - Secret Millionaire. This week the guy was in Rhyl, and usually when they 'come out' they tell their new friends that 'I'm a millionaire' then donate thirty grand for a church hall or something. This week the bloke gushed 'actually, I'm worth millions' then handed over a cheque to some old bloke for £2K or something - pathetic. 2 - Katy Brand - Is there anyone or anything less funny ? (and that's just the trailer repeated ad nauseum on more 4 every ten minutes) 3 - Celebrity come dine with me - that twot from Blue pronouncing thyme as a 'th' rather than a 't', Lee Ryan who previously objected to Marco Pierre White referring to Pikeys as racist !
Grabbi Graeme Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Have just watched the pilot episode for the new Knight Rider, K.I.T.T. is now a mustang and is voiced by Val Kilmer which just doesn't sound right. The hoff makes a brief appearance and it sounded like he would get a occassional appearance in the series, I think when remakes are done it's difficult to recapture the original series.
Biddy Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 OK, not actually on telly here yet but just finished watching the first 2 episodes of season 3 of Heroes and I think it is back to it's best. Superb couple of episodes and well worth watching when it starts here on 1st october. Also finished watching series 4 of weeds. What a cliffhanger, great stuff.
Jim J Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 OK, not actually on telly here yet but just finished watching the first 2 episodes of season 3 of Heroes and I think it is back to it's best. Superb couple of episodes and well worth watching when it starts here on 1st october. Likewise, and wow, i'm still trying to take it all in. So many twists and turns already. I wont go into detail and spoil it, but if you are a heroes fan, make sure you watch or record it next week.
Friarsnig Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Did you hear Trevor McDonald's Freudian slip on the News at Ten tonight? "And so to our stop tory, sorry, top story tonight..." - which was all about Gordon Brown's triumphant speech at the Labour conference in Manchester today.
Nelsta Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Watched (well about 10 minutes) Of Russell Brand Live. How the hell is he on telly? He's about as funny as gettin told you have 24 hours to live.
brfcshabba Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I don't mind Mock The Week but it's incredibly smug (Hugh Dennis especially), and a lot of the stuff that's being passed off as spontaneous feels very contrived. I hate that middle-class cock with the glasses they have on every so often, I don't think he's said one funny thing in any episode. John Oliver Is this the guy? I agree he is crap
blue phil Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Watched (well about 10 minutes) Of Russell Brand Live. How the hell is he on telly? He's about as funny as gettin told you have 24 hours to live. He's been advising the Yanks to vote for Abama - a bit like the Guardian readers a few years ago who wrote to voters in the Southern states asking them to vote Democrat . Excellent news for the McCain camp I should think ...........
Billy Castell Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Watched (well about 10 minutes) Of Russell Brand Live. How the hell is he on telly? He's about as funny as gettin told you have 24 hours to live. Whenever I se him, I always have a version of a football chant in my head: You're just a s__t Kenny Everett A s__t Kenneny Everett A s__t Keeeeennnnnnnny Eeevvverrett
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Just watching "The Worlds Strictest Parents" on BBC3, two Brits have been sent to Jamaica to a strict school with locals. The locals are so happy to attend and learn, but the British girl is a completely spoilt little mare. Refusing to do work and talking about "why should I go to school if I don't like it?" People like her give every hard-working young person a bad reputation.
ABBEY Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 that looks a mind blowing show on monday/tuesday? ross kemp in kenya with the glue families.
Ricky Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Well instead of watching Telly on Thursday I shall be on it. Golden Balls here I come!!!!
ABBEY Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 should keep kids away from fireplace then .

Awesome start did not really enjoy season two, but it makes more sense even after the first two episodes. Twists and turns do not really describe where episode two finishes. It was nice to see Mohinder grow some balls and get a bit cocky. Well instead of watching Telly on Thursday I shall be on it. Golden Balls here I come!!!! Will you share or steal? or perhaps a bit of deception? Good Luck anyways. Make sure you wear your "bobblecap".
Biddy Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Just finished watching episode 1 of Little Britain USA. Not too bad, just more of the same really. I think some of the characters will take getting used to. The Lou and Andy sketch was superb as always. I wonder how this goes down in the US?

American Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Bad news for you then as the series started in the U.S last week, not sure if any channel over here will pick it up. From what I understand they did a lot of retooling of it from the movie to the new series.
Ozz Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 Anyone watch the Jamie Oliver show last night? Turns up at a house in Rotherham, and the mum is giving the kids their tea. A 5 year old girl is eating "Cheesy Chips" (it was as the description is) and a "pile" of shaved Doner Meat from a styrofoam carton on laminated flooring. With their hands. Apparently they eat like this most nights. Jammy little bitch!

I don't mind the odd cookery programme but when I saw one woman who (I think) was admitting to eating ten packets of crisps a night I had to switch over before I started to puke ..... Anybody who thinks educational standards are OK in this country should be forced to watch !
Ozz Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 It was one of them hold a mirror up to your own life kind of shows, and thankfully mine just about looked better than those of the residents of Rotherham.Felt sorry for the kids though TBH. Mum-"How do I know when the water is boiling?" Jamie-"When you can see the bubbles"
Rovermatt Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 As I mentioned on another thread, I've finally got my hands on part 2 of the third season of Entourage. It's so good it hurts.
LeChuck Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 John Oliver Is this the guy? I agree he is crap Yes, that's him. I can't stand him. He's one of those comedians who have obviously found his way in to comedy via the Oxbridge clique that exists in Britain, because he's not naturally a funny guy in the slightest.
