cn174 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 so is there a new season coming? i thought that was the last? or am i being doh? The new season is starting in January. It was supposed to start in Jan 08, but because of the writers strike they didn't get it finished, so they put it back a whole year to Jan 09. But as has already been said there is a 2 hour special in the mean time at end of november.

Mc Love Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 i watched stephen fry and simon schama's documentaries over the weekend. Very good if you can catch them on iplayer. Is that one about him travelling around the states? It was pretty good. Anyone see that programme about these lads that are travelling around the world on all different types of transport? Its really good. Just found the name of it Charley Boorman: Ireland to Sydney by Any Means
Billy Castell Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Paul Merton in India is good. He went round with a Gujerati protection racket whose members are all hermaphradytes last night.
Rovermatt Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Could this be the greatest television show ever?
Billy Castell Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Could this be the greatest television show ever? Holy crap Batman. This could be massive. I'm talking better than Heil Honey I'm Home (it's on Youtube), and even better than a Steven Segal film. This simply has to happen. This has made my day, as I love Steven Segal films for all the wrong reasons, as does my mum.
Drummer Boy Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Earlier this week, I watched "This is England" and what a stark film it is, capturing the spirit of how nasty it could be and how confused people could be in the early '80's - some would say "so what's changed". What really struck me was how miserable England was at that time. I didn't enjoy it but couldn't switch off as it was quite compelling.
Rovermatt Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 That's a great film. I didn't really know much about it as I've no interest in Shane Meadows's dreary style of film-making, so I was surprised to find that the original group that the little kid fell in with were anything but racist thugs.
Drummer Boy Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 That's a great film. I didn't really know much about it as I've no interest in Shane Meadows's dreary style of film-making, so I was surprised to find that the original group that the little kid fell in with were anything but racist thugs. And therein lies the key theme for me - what was initially a multiracial movement became taken over by the racists, but remained throughout an essentially working class movement. I wonder if it was an observation, as if it were needed, on the old saying about judging books by their covers and using stereotypes to offset lazy thinking? The film made me think. for sure.
Grabbi Graeme Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Watched Top Gear last night and in it they smashed up and then set fire to a Morris Marina, now the Morris Marina lovers are not happy about it and the link below leads to a Morris Marina forum. One of the members on the forum sold the car to the BBC and believed them when they said they wouldnt smash it up. Click here and go to the forum

American Rover12 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 "Look at it! It's the same color as a prosthetic limb!"
nowthen Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 It's been raved about on here quite a few times, Charlie Brooker's screenwipe. I've just watched last week's episode on Mission Documentaries. Very Funny. Well worth watching on iPlayer if it's still on.
ABBEY Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 rab c last night was the funniest programme ive seen in years ,i was literally crying laughing when he was lying on the table with the fryi ng pan.
whittle blue Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 rab c last night was the funniest programme ive seen in years ,i was literally crying laughing when he was lying on the table with the fryi ng pan. Bugger - missed it. What channel was it on, Abbey? I'll check catch up TV

Presty On Tour Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I thought it was top class, old school comedy. The asshole is the new fanny, I take her from behind so we don't have to look at each other and I don't want to get in the way of her sudoko
cn174 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Bugger - missed it. What channel was it on, Abbey? I'll check catch up TV It is on bbc iplayer here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gbf52/Rab_C_Nesbitt/
whittle blue Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Cheers Clare & Abbey. Watched Rab's repeat tonight. Without doubt, the funniest programme I've seen in ages.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Anyone see the Top Gear Vietnam special today? After watching Rovers gift City a share of the points, I needed someone to bring a smile back on my face. It was superb! If you haven't watched it yet then please watch the repeat or on BBCI player.
Presty On Tour Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Top Gear was one of the best programs over the xmas season by miles. Even though it's the same pranks and jokes, somehow it's still funny. Vietnam is some country, mates of mine have been before and I didn't believe them on what an amazing place it is until now. Definitely planning a tour there in the future.
American Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Has anyone been watching Wallander? Not sure I buy Kenneth Branaugh as Swedish, but the first 2 episodes have been good watching. Even bought the first couple of books in the series to see how they compare (on my future reading list).
nowthen Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Paul Merton's Morecambe and Wise tribute was good. Merton was clearly a massive fan. However, Jack Dee going on was a bit random and unconvincing and considering the tat the BBC pedal it should have been on for longer than an hour.
Presty On Tour Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Did anybody see Phil Taylor on Coronation St known as Disco Dave? Thought I was tripping!
