Mattyblue Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Boardwalk Empire is as excellent as you would expect any HBO product to be. Mad Men's fourth season ended on Sunday. Terrific stuff. Mad Men is absolutely superb. The writing, the characters, the style even the props just scream out class. How much do you want to be working in early 60s NYC? A Smoke and a dram or two of Canadian at 10am and 11am and noon etc

sleepyjack Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I am recommending Eastbound and Down - its a very funny sitcom! Watching 2nd series at the moment ^ This. Although sitcom barely describes it. So far Season 2 is a big disappointment, but it gets a pass as the first was pure gold.
Flopsy Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Big Bang Series 4 starts in the UK early November WOOT WOOT

Backroom Tom Posted October 26, 2010 Backroom Posted October 26, 2010 Modern Family is still getting better, one of the funniest programmes in years the characters are inspired.
Nelsta Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Has anybody watched The Walking Dead yet? Watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. It's based on the graphic novels of the same name.Basically it's Dawn of the Dead but a series. Anybody that likes Zombies will enjoy it, But as it's only just aired in the states folk here in the uk will either have to wait and hope it gets aired over here or download.

It's on FX Channel on Friday 5th Nov. I watch Dexter and they've been pushing it big style in every ad break - looks good, especially as I love zombie stuff!

Backroom Tom Posted October 28, 2010 Backroom Posted October 28, 2010 Is Andrew Lincoln playing an American in the walking dead?
Backroom Tom Posted October 28, 2010 Backroom Posted October 28, 2010 There seems to be quite a few English guys playing Americans at the moment, Laurie is brilliant as house
adopted scouser Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 An Idiot Abroad - fantastic On the statue of Christ in Rio "Looks like a bloke about to bungee jump"
MarkBRFC71 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Anyone else watched the season 4 finale of Dexter? Won't spoil it, but great ending!
Backroom Tom Posted November 5, 2010 Backroom Posted November 5, 2010 I still have about 6 episodes to go, I love ther series but need to get motivated to start again with the eps, can't remember what happened last!
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Anyone else watched the season 4 finale of Dexter? Won't spoil it, but great ending! Yep watched it. The series is back on top form (improvement over the previous one which was good but not as good as the first two imo).I thought Lithgow was brilliant. Did anyone else watch 'The Walking Dead' tonight? I really enjoyed it.

Anybody that likes Zombies will enjoy it, But as it's only just aired in the states folk here in the uk will either have to wait and hope it gets aired over here or download. I watched it last night on FX and thought it was fantastic. I'm a huge fan of 28 Days and 28 Weeks Later, so this show is right up my street. I watched the final episode of the 4th Mad Men series last week and it's another excellent season. A few people have mentioned Boardwalk Empire. I've been watching that too and it's excellent. I've seen quite a bit of that show The Event as my bro downloads it, so I'm a couple of weeks ahead of what's being shown on Channel 4. It's been entertaining enough, but I hope it doesn't go the way of Flash Forward, which started out well, but ended up being a total disaster and getting axed. I've recently started watching the Sopranos again from the very beginning and love it. I have a few of the box sets and have bought some more and it's great seeing episodes that I missed. I have to start watching this Dexter programme as everyone is raving about it. I watch very little television, just a lot shows that are downloaded and Dexter is one that I missed out on. Shows like House and Fringe also get rave reviews but I've never got into either. The one show that I have been watching consistently on TV is Downton Abbey. I wouldn't normally watch ITV dramas as I find them boring and very samey. However I've really enjoyed this one. I'm really looking forward to the new series of Friday Night Lights, Southland and Californication which starts in the New Year.
American Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Just started watching Dexter. Thought the books were a good concept, but poorly executed, but the show is MUCH better. Hooked after 4 episodes. Part of the problem with the books was how they handled his personality and going a bit overboard on his lack of normal human emotions ("what is this thing - could it be a feeling?"). With the show they do a much better job of him just realising that he pretends one life and lives the other behind the scenes.
