Shevchenko Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 These guys are totally lacking talent, they have nothing but work rate. That's what scares me the most about this match, we've looked the most dangerous side throughout, but they've still scored two bloody goals!! I thought it was the other way around actually. THEY looked the most dangerous side throughout and we rarely threatened. They kept beating the offside trap, looked very dangerous on every set piece and had periods of sustained pressure. Which shouldn't happen! They are rubbish ffs! They have NO talent at all! How do we keep cocking it up like this? I'm not surprised we lost tonight it's so typical Rovers! And a word on Sav's leg. Don't know if it's been confirmed but to me it looked like a broken leg. At least that was my first reaction. So yeah...we need midfielders badly...
Bobby G Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 With Chelsea next in the league we will be back where we were before the City game in terms of league position and outlook probably as the mid-table is so cramped together.
pksrover Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Hughes is dumb No Tugay Or Dunn in 16 Idiot Tugay picked up a slight knock in training, and Dunn is not match fit
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 At odds of 11/10 at the bookies I really should have known better about this banana skin...beggars belief!!
Rovermatt Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Pathetic. How many games have Watford even won this season?
Gareth Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 ... because this is Rovers we're talking about... whenever a team's on a bad run and play us we lose! Watford 2-1 ... ahem...
mjs Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Saturday to Tuesday, from the sublime to the ridiculous. Tonight we were all over the place defensively, and our front two didn't have the ability to hold the ball up. At least McCarthy can score goals, his partner is just plain dreadful in every aspect of his play. Altough there are no real excuses for losing against poor opposition like that, we certainly weren't helped by the injuries to Benni and Savage (who was the victim of a not very nice challenge) and up until then I thought we were largely in charge in the second half. Bentley and Pedersen were again our best performers. It seems to be compulsory now to reserve these performances for when playing away against the bottom three - it's baffling really!!
Finch Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Awful awful performance! I just cant believe how bad we were. Be ashamed Blackburn Rovers, be very ashamed Only Bentley can hold his head up. But the rest have nothing to be proud of
philipl Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Watched it on TV. Watford were there for the beating even though we had so many players out- the Hornets looked very poor Championship level. Their goals were both a mix of good fortune and cluelessness by Rovers whereas we missed some great chances. Thought McEveley looked class, Bentley oozed class, Brad did his stuff and the rest were middling to poor. Having stuck up for the Axe before, I found myself wanting to shout "join in" at him- he was that clueless. Nonda was back to his frustrating worse with that miss the decisive moment of the game. If he'd stuck that in, we'd have brought three points back. I thought the reffing was ridiculously lenient. The Savage and McCarthy injuries were down to bad fouls in my view. If Sav has broken his leg, we can wave goodbye to our dreams for this season.
Bobby G Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Its already been mentioned that this was Watfords second win of the season although they have only lost 4 times at home, to the top 3 and to Sheff Utd. Might I add theyve only lost 1 more time than we have all season long.
grizfoot Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Really do hope Savage's injury isn't too bad.
Hasta Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Have we had these broken legs comfirmed or are we all going off what Radio Lancs commentators presumed?
Bobby G Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Benni had a dead leg, but about Sav it said our medical team is fearing its a broken leg. This was the TV commentators on international tv.
tonygreenbank Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I watched the game and we were very poor tonight.Did not deserve anything.below par all round apart from Friedel and Bentley who didnt impose himself second half. Injuries are a real problem but not sure yet about Savage; hope it isnt too bad.Nonda was poor tonight and missed 2 good chances. Benni wasnt much better but at least he scored.Very disappointing aii round and so frustrating when I felt that 3 points were there for the taking. How we miss Tugay; we dont look half the team without him.
Jan Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Being lucky enough to live 6 miles from the ground, I've just got home. Actually I left 5 minutes before the end- there was a method to my madness- I went to the loo just on half time, and I hoped my absence would help us score again. Alas no. The good points...................... Nope can't think of any. The bad points. Zurab and Henchoz cannot defend, They have zero positional sense as a unit and are too slow. As I ma have said before, we don't win without Toddy. Get him in a wheelchair if we have to, but get him on the pitch. We cannot play head tennis. If we're going to try, we need to practise. EVERY header went to them. Nonda isn't a very good striker. His misses are vaguely embarrassing. Gamst doesn't turn up on nights like these. He ran a lot, but frankly wasn't much use. BUT compared to the axe- he was a vituoso. The axe was absolutely awful. as I kept saying, neither use nor ornament. Couldn't tackle, couldn't pass, couldn't head the ball. Triple jeopardy really. That said, we were just poor from back to front. I don't think we strung more than 2 passes together more than twice in the whole game. There were great cries of "hoof" to the Watford players from our fans every time they got the ball. The same could have been shouted at us. Even when we got the ball down, Tugay's imaginary friend was running riot! It was a truly forgettable performance.
USABlue Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Did anyone really expect anything else. Worst part of this is the injuries, we can not afford any more we have had more than our fair share this season. If Benni and Sav are long term we could be right back in the relegation mix.
James No. 7 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Who took the armband when Sav went off? Emerton.
Jan Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Emerton. Only because he was standing nearest when one of our trainers came running back with it. Sav forgot to take it off in his agony- how remiss!!!
LeChuck Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 BUT compared to the axe- he was a vituoso. The axe was absolutely awful. as I kept saying, neither use nor ornament. Couldn't tackle, couldn't pass, couldn't head the ball. Triple jeopardy really. That's not just him tonight, that is him every week. That is Mokoena. Some people seem to defend him on here as they feel obliged to as he's wearing blue and white...but there's no getting away from it, he's not good enough for this league. I'd be suprised if he was good enough for the Championship, even some Wycombe players this evening looked more comfortable on the ball than he is. With him in the side we have a lower Championship/upper League One standard player in our team, if the other three don't perform excellenty (like tonight) then we're always going to be poor there. Unfortunately Savage's injury looks like we'll be seeing more of him.

I don't rate him anyway, but he's been tugayesque if you compare those performances to tonight.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Shyte performance,Shyte result and a 13,760 shyte crowd!!
