Rovers take on former Rovers striker, Mike Newell’s Luton Town tomorrow in the FA Cup.

Although they reached the top division in the mid 80’s early 90’s, Luton’s football league history has predominantly been established in the lower leagues. Their only major trophy being the League Cup which they won in 1988, when under the management of former Rovers manager Ray Harford, they beat Arsenal 3-2 at Wembley.

Tomorrows game is Rovers 21st visit to Luton, a ground that they have never won at, so hopefully as supporters travel home tomorrow night in the words of Luton’s most famous supporter, the Rovers fans will be singing “Give Me Sunshine” and not Eric Morecambe’s other catch phrase. “Rubbish”
