Alan75 Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Shabani Nonda's late goal 4 minutes before the end of the game, kept this UEFA Cup tie alive and put Rovers in a strong position for the home leg next week, despite losing the first leg 3-2 against Bayer Leverkusen, this evening. Although David Bentley equalised with a free kick after Leverkusen had taken the lead through Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker far-post header, Rovers went in at half time trailing 2-1, when Ramelow's shot was deflected past Friedel. Ten minutes after the break Leverkusen went 3-1 up when Bernd Schneider flicked a third past Friedel. However with time running out, substitute Nonda smashed in a volley to keep the tie alive.
