Paul Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I noticed we are playing football on Thursday so thought it might be an idea to start a thread. From what I saw on TV, , I think Rovers will get through after a nerve wracking encounter. I suspect we will go at them for an early goal only to concede one before half time, setting things up for a storming second-half with Rovers winning 2-1 to go through on away goals (I'm not sure when they count - full time or AET?) Bentley and Derbyshire for Rovers.

Oakland Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Really hope MGP is back for this one. 3-1 Benni, Bentley, Derbs.
joey_big_nose Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 As Toogs and Benni will have had a rest for this one I quite fancy us to do well. Really think we will get through. Fredel, Warnock, Emerton, Nelsen, Zurab, MGP, Tugay, Mokoena, Bentley, McCarthy, Derbyshire Dunn to get a run out in the second half.
CAPT KAYOS Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Well, they got beat at home at the weekend
allrovertheworld Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 This is my first game back after a year of no live football. So excited about going to Ewood and after last weeks game i think we can get a win and progress. Looking forward to getting my first look at Benni Mac aswell, i hear he's not half bad. Come on Rovers give me a welcome back win.
OJRovers Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I think there's goals in it for Rovers, we desparately need to score first though - a couple of goals from Rovers before HT should settle the nerves a bit I hope. Good to see that Hughes has got the defense well organised again (at Arsenal), however we will be changing it again SAMBA/ZURAB(rb) for ZURAB(cb)/EMO. I hope we play Zurab instead of Henchoz. Also need Tugay to get his magic foot on the ball and dictate the pace of the game. Rovers 3 - 1 Bayer Benni Axe MGP
Maverick Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Really hope MGP is back for this one. 3-1 Benni, Bentley, Derbs. MGP back in training today. Will take it easy in todays training, but expects to be ready for thursday game.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 MGP back in training today. Will take it easy in todays training, but expects to be ready for thursday game. Get in!-Feeling confident already: Rovers 1 Leverkusen 0 Gamst 90+
Jim J Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 go through on away goals (I'm not sure when they count - full time or AET?) Its at full time, only the league cup includes extra time. link

CircoW Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I'm still trying to get to this one but could struggle as I need to be in work early on Friday morning. Anyone driving back to London after the game by any chance!?!
FourLaneBlue Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Its at full time, only the league cup includes extra time. link Yeah and the only way we can have extra time is if we beat them 3-2. Really looking forward to this and probably is our biggest game of the season. I'm guessing there will be no beer for sale at the ground?
Ozz Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I'm guessing there will be no beer for sale at the ground? Nope not inside the stadium. And after the Nancy game, where the JW Upper had only one kiosk open you'd be lucky to get tea or coffee, assuming you wish to be watching the second half.
Jan Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I'm still trying to get to this one but could struggle as I need to be in work early on Friday morning. Anyone driving back to London after the game by any chance!?! yes
CircoW Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 yes Any chance of a lift back? ... in exchange for some petrol money, of course. ... and providing the powers that be let me have the time off work!
BRFC4EVA Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Really cant wait for this one its gonna be a cracking night of european football. We're gonna be right up for it at the start and hopefully fly into them. A good start and a early goal will get the crowd going and settle down all the nerves. Lev are not a great team-if that performance last week was their best of the season then they cannot be the best team in the world. Hopefully MGP, tugay and McCarthy will be back for the match and we can go into the game with a team resembling some sort of half decent mid-field. We need as many people down there as possible, S/t are free and we have cheap tickets. There is nothing more the club can do, we must get behind the lads on thurs evening!
frosty Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 1-0 Rovers. Not really bothered who scores, just want to get through!
Jan Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Any chance of a lift back? ... in exchange for some petrol money, of course. ... and providing the powers that be let me have the time off work! No worries- as long as I make it there as well!!!
sijoco Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 In most cases you'd be worried about European teams coming to Ewood and defending their first leg lead pretty well. From what we saw in Germany, l don't think we need to worry about that. 2-0 Rovers (MGP, Benni)
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 WIN AT ALL COSTS!! Rovers 2 Bayer 0 Att: 18,500
SamTheShrew Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 could somebody be kind enough to tell me whether i can buy tickets beforehand at the ticket office? and does it matter if i do that if i am a student and still intend to get my ticket for 5pounds? cheers guys

Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 It will either be: 1-0 Leverkusen, Schneider (90+3) OR 3-1 Rovers: Sambambamba (90+1, 90+2, 90+3) ; Schneider (90) If only
