Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 The penalty was interesting to say the least - what's all this about the last man and denying a clear goal scoring opportunity. Carvalho drops a guy clean through on goal , concedes a pen and gets to stay on. Tugay against Spurs may or may not have just brushed a guy running away from goal and the ref can't get the red card out quick enough. It's like a mate of mine used to say " when you play the big boys you've got to win to get a draw ", that was 40 years ago, nothing much has changed has it ?
mike at picture Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 CONFIRMED Sunday 4pm Kick Off - Old Trafford I predict an embarassing turn out

I think you will find that Carvalho was not the last man.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I don't think a left back running towards goal 25 yds away with no chance to influence play is really a defence, what do you think the result would have been if that had have been Zurab ?

Jimmy Jupiter Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I think you will find that Carvalho was not the last man. Cech doesn't count!
den Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I think you will find that Carvalho was not the last man. He bloomin' well was John. EDIT: the rules state "a goal scoring opportunity". Berbatovs next touch was a shot from 8 yards out with no-one else near enough to get anywhere near him. and we lose Bentley for a hand ball, after being pushed, outside the area? mad.gif

Exactly - it was a stonewall red card (once he's adjudged it to be a penalty). I don't think he was even booked. I'm sickened by the standard of officiating in the game at the moment - it's absolutely ridiculous.
T4E Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Football must be the most corrupt sport on Earth. We're getting the ###### taken out of us, good and proper.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I predict an embarassing turn out Why so negative?
Paul Mellelieu Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I'm past worrying about how many supporters we'll take to these games.
Tris Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I predict an embarassing turn out It's ok - no-one will know. The powers that be won't want us unwashed northerners on the telly anyway, so they'll give Chelski all the lower tier areas and shove us lot up in the rafters 1/4 of a mile away from the pitch, well out of sight. Jim Devine's been promoted to a full referee as well (David Blunkett's running the line on one side, and his dog on the other).
Roar of the Rover Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 YES! BBC and Sky have both said that our game is on the 15th which is a Sunday, Motson also said our tie we most probably played at Old Trafford.

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I'll be pleasantly surprised if tickets are less than £35 each.
cn174 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I'll be pleasantly surprised if tickets are less than £35 each. Well considering last time around the main bulk of the tickets were £40 and £60 (I think) I'd be extremely surprised if they were less than £35
Rovermatt Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 So Chelsea it is then. Remarkable to see United get a default entry into the final with a tie against Watford. Truly remarkable.
RoversFanUSA Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Freakin sweet!!! The FA cup match will be held on the last full day that i will be in England(14th). I NEED me a ticket can anyone help?!?!?!? Im just glad that we have made it as far as we have. Come on ppl help me out!
Mr. E Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 well, there's nothing that could sicken me more than us going out at this stage to Chelsea, and naturally that's exactly who we're going up against.
Roost Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Freakin sweet!!! The FA cup match will be held on the last full day that i will be in England(14th). I NEED me a ticket can anyone help?!?!?!? Im just glad that we have made it as far as we have. Come on ppl help me out! I will get you a ticket, no problem! One proviso - you come with us all day. Against Man City we were out at half eleven and got home at half eight monday morning...... It will be a memory to cherish!!
Mike Graham Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Better to play it at the COMS than Old Trafford. I can't see Rovers taking many more than 15K and I doubt that Chelski will better that figure. With a fair wind and a few hangers on it may just top 35K.
