mike at picture Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 looking the 'SKY LIVE' schedule, kick off is at 4PM on sunday the 15th. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=217652 I really fancied a sell out Rovers following heading down the m6 to Villa Park for a Saturday, 3pm, traditional FA cup semi-final. I never, EVER get what I want

broadsword Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 i wouldn't take that fixture list seriously, it doesn't say that Man Utd vs Watford is on the Saturday, and it also has Man Utd playing Chelsea on the Sunday.
bob fleming Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Chelsea have so muchpower in their midifield that we are going to really struggle to impose ourselves against them> As it is we are lightweight but once you consider its going to be Dunn and Tugay up against Makelele, Essien and Lampard you have to come to the conclusion we are massive underdogs. Why no Axe?
AggyBlue Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Why no Axe? He'll be one of the first names on the teamsheet for this game
bob fleming Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 He'll be one of the first names on the teamsheet for this game That's what I thought.
modes98 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 and it also has Man Utd playing Chelsea on the Sunday. That is because they haven't updated it following last nights replay results.
mike at picture Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Does anybody have a definative answer as to when the Soho Square suits will finish their Bruchettas and Lattes and MAKE A F*****G DECISION ALREADY?!
Paul Mellelieu Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 As an aside I bumped into John Williams and Tom Finn at Eastlands yesterday. In a meeting of around 15 people I also spotted City's finance director and Richard Scudamore. I should also point out that Mr W was proudly wearing a Rovers motif anorak, with Lonsdale plastered on his back. Brightened up an otherwise dull day.
Exiled_Rover Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Does anybody have a definative answer as to when the Soho Square suits will finish their Bruchettas and Lattes and MAKE A F*****G DECISION ALREADY?! Well to be fair, they've just gone for their hour long lunch, so you'll be waiting a while.
Jan Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Well to be fair, they've just gone for their hour long lunch, so you'll be waiting a while. Ah a quick lunch, then. Make it 3 hours!
RovertheHill Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 On radio 1 this morning Carrie(sports woman) read out the script reading "The Dream Wembley FA CUP Final remains on after both Chelsea and Man utd made it though". Yet history shows the best finals aren't between the big boys, but normally when a "smaller" club faces a big club. Frankly, the media and most football pundits appear to have forgotten that the magic of the FA Cup was exactly what you point out. The way they go on, and the way the big boys whine about replays (with their squads of 20+ top class players, ffs!) the FA might as well scrap all the rounds and just put Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal in the hat and start at the semi-finals Dream final?!? Only one team in modern times ever refused to play in the FA Cup and that was Man U - shows how highly they regard this tournament. If there's any karma in the world it will be us against Watford - a PROPER cup final
G Somerset Rover Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 One Rovers site suggesting that Old Trafford is definitely the venue. I'll try to find the link. Edit: Here it is: http://www.blackburnrovers-mad.co.uk/news/...W&id=330395

Saying that, knowing the coverage we get off the BBC if it was a Rovers - Watford final, they'd probably replace it with a repeat of Only Fools and Horses
American Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Good news is I can get round trip for 4 euro plus taxes. Bad news is I can't come back until Monday morning, missing half a day of work after doing the same thing the weekend before for the Spurs match.

USABlue Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Regardless of where it is staged I don't hold much hope. the only thing I wish for is a great day out for those travelling.
Claytons Left Boot Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 As already stated, SSN are indicating that the Rovers v Chelsea semi final is at Old Trafford on Sunday 15 April with the other tie likely to be at Villa Park on the Saturday.
joey_big_nose Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Why no Axe? Um, good point, my mistake! Nonetheless still not that great a central midfield. But as someone said the pressure will be off us and the Chelsea fans will go into this expecting to win. If we can frusatrate them then we will get a few chances. We just need to put them away! Getting Nelsen back for this game will be vital. Zurab has been decent recently but the Nelsen-Samba combo looks golden. ps. OT is an outstanding location for us and an atrocious one for the Chelsea fans! Who said the FA don't give us anything?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that.

Suppose they'd know and that's as reliable as you are going to get. Dont see why Anfield, Elland Road or Hillsborough cant be utilised. I was at O.T. last year for L/pool v Chelski. Think Chelski just about sold their allocation but there seemed to be Scousers all over the place. Good atmosphere if a little hostile. Cant see it being the same for this tie. I reckon there will be 50,000 on with 20,000 from B/bn.

It really should be 35k + from Chelsea and 30k from Rovers but we have a lot of Paper Readers now! Like you, I would have preferred Villa Park and a sold out allocation but at least this gives more Rovers fans the chance to see the game with having to travel only a short distance. No problems as far as I am concerned.

No problems as far as I am concerned. I suppose much depends on the ticket price. If it's prohibative Blackburn folk have demonstrated that they wont pay. Anything over £40 will put a big dent in our potential following. I was on a freemans last year so I dont know how much they were then!
