bob fleming Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 The FA Makes sense. Unless you're a Chelsea fan of course. Still never mind eh?
LeftWinger Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Official text off Rovers: The FA Cup Semi Final match against Chelsea will take place at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground on Sunday 15th April, kick off 4pm Wonder how Waggy will react to this news?
FourLaneBlue Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 "Tickets are priced at £25 / £35 / £45 / £55 and will be sold via the ticket offices of the four semi-finalist clubs. The ticket allocations for each club will be confirmed later this week."
Claytons Left Boot Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Hurrah! Home for tea and crumpets! Or if you're lucky, tea and crumpet.
sussexrover Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Village - not going to get home until about 1am. Oh well hopefully my drive home will involve a lot of singing and celebrating!
modes98 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Wonder how Waggy will react to this news? Waggy has now retired to his secret bunker underneath the FA Headquaters and Jordan was last seen heading towards the FA Headquaters with a rather large shotgun
Modi Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Best possible time and location for me, considering I'm on cat sitting duty in Chorley that week!
LeftWinger Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Not really the date and time I wanted. Maybe you should ring the FA to complain
Manchester Blue Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Wonder how Waggy will react to this news? Probably still arguing it's the Emirates. It's very annoying when people here rumours and post them as fact. By all means post the rumours as it's what we like to hear but when you make out it's fact then people like Jordan end up out of pocket.
FourLaneBlue Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I've just remembered that, unlike the League Cup, the Uefa Cup place for the FA Cup doesn't necessarily go to the league. Therefore does anyone know if Utd and Chelsea do make the final (let's hope not but...) whether the Uefa Cup place would then go to the league or whether Watford and Rovers would play off for it? I remember it seemed to come up a few years ago as a possibility. Does anyone know what has happened in the past? Does it go to the league places if both finalists are in the Champs League? I suspect it does but just hoping in case...mind you Watford are bottom 3 so we would probably lose anyway!

Ozz Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Playing on the Sunday gives us the knowledge that we will know we will be playing United in the final before the match starts.

Does it go to the league places if both finalists are in the Champs League? I'm almost certain that if it's the final that "everyone" wants (aka United/Chelsea ), then the extra UEFA spot goes to the league.

Dan Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 When will the tickets be on sale? Can't wait for this game! Doesn't matter says on the official site within 48 hours.
broadsword Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Maybe you should ring the FA to complain I'd already contacted them in advance to say I preferred a 5pm Saturday kick-off, preferably somewhere near Stansted Airport. Bloody FA! Semi-finals never used to be on a Sunday!
krislu Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 With Terry back in the team and Shevchenko showing fine form it will be almost impossible to get a win against them. At least the game is played at OT which is good for us.

Semi-finals never used to be on a Sunday! You should have a word with Waggys nephew. I believe he has a lot of authority at the FA Headquarters.
CAPT KAYOS Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Bloody FA! Semi-finals never used to be on a Sunday! Neither at 3PM on a Saturday either. Which is exactly why I said earlier its the very reason I would consider not going - but I won't. Lost a bit of the tradition and glamour for me now but I'll still go. ARE YOU READING SWEET FA???? Oh well - lets just hope we can at least score against them.

Dear Football Supporter You appear to be under the illusion we give a crap about you or your opinions. Until you start to give us millions of pounds each year and become a corporate sponsor or television company you can go whistle. Yours in Sport THE FA.
modes98 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 people like Jordan end up out of pocket. Poor Jordan, i think Waggy should refund all his expenses Of course Chelsea are beatable, otherwise they wouldn't be second in the league. The form we have hit we could give any team in the league a run for their money and but for some god awful reffing we would have kept our unbeaten run of 6 going.
