ABBEY Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 tried again online and ringing ..phone engaged and cant get online ...error message ah well
only2garners Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I've just tried to book online. There was no sign of the cup match but as I also wanted an extra ticket for the Villa game I pressed on. The system then wanted to charge me a £4 booking fee for it so presumably it's struggling at the moment all round.
SAS Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 qued for just under an hour in that hour about 4 people bought tickets for £45 or £55
ABBEY Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 sorted..queued for 10 mins,doesnt bode well.About 20 people in the queue.

roversmum Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Got JJ's, Miss Roversmum and granddaughter's tickets online last night at around half-past midnight, using JJ's log in. Easy and quick. Have to ring up for Mr Roversmum and mine though 'cos we will be in disabled area. Only problem is Miss Roversmum is due to have a knee operation on the Friday before the match so don't know how she will cope but she is determined to come. I've just sent bellamy11 to the ticket office so hopefully I'll have some soon Like your style, Claire !! Can't wait now.
Ben-2000 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I'm waiting til Sunday, using 2 season tickets to get 4 semi-final tickets in the £35.00 section.
Roar of the Rover Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Great weather all week and it rains when the tickets go on sale, thats Blackburn for you, anyway hope its worth it!
ABBEY Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Great weather all week and it rains when the tickets go on sale, thats Blackburn for you, anyway hope its worth it! doh! its under cover
Roar of the Rover Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Just rung through to the ticket office via the automated main switchboard took about 2-3 mins. Now the proud owner of 4 x £45 seats! Are you a Season Ticket Holder?
OJRovers Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Got ours, straight through to the ticket office on the phone once it rung 2 x £25 tickets I'm hopeful Rovers will sell 25k for this, there will be a lot of people getting them nearer the time.
Boz Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Just obtained 6 tickets for semi final without any wait. Also renewed season tickets at the same time, excellent service! Is anybody aware of any extra trains/carriages being put on by Northern Trains or BRFC for the match? Lots of people I've spoken to have intimated that they would be up for letting the train take the strain. Setting off before noon, arriving in time for a few pleasant drinks down Deansgate Locks/Castlefields.
ABBEY Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 someone mentioned it earlier ,think it was sas ,he'd rung them and they said they wernt......you would think someone from rovers would sort a few "footy" specials out from blackburn..there could be problems not getting there because of lack of trains.
key76 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Are you a Season Ticket Holder? Yes, as are the other 3 people I got the tickets for
Tris Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I think there's going to be a real problem with the trains. Even making some fairly optimistic assumptions and doing some basic maths, it's a nightmare waiting to happen. Let's say only 1 in 10 people decide to use the train (and are travelling from Blackburn). That's 3000 people. Those trains only hold around 300 people (crammed in), and the options are 0948, 1048, 1148, 1248 and 1348. Problem.

But in all the time I've been getting the train from Manc to Blackburn they've only ever done it once

Jan Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Have booked my 4 tickets (as there are only 2 season ticket holders, 1 member and a.n.other They're going to have to wait till Sunday to allocate them, but there shouldn't be any problem) Got straight through to the ticket office.
Robertson Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Getting newcastle to manc picadilly on the saturday, out on the tiles if anyone wants to hook up and then not sure about matchday, walk down to ground and drink or metro it to the station, then back from victoria on the night. cannot wait to beat chelsea....
Tris Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 they rung me they said they dont have the resources for extra trains, (despite it being sunday and more than half of the trains will be at depot) however they said maybe they could add a carriage they said that he would contact the operations manager for me Spoken to the charters manager at EWS (English Welsh and Scottish Railways). They (EWS) are providing a relief service for First Great Western this Sunday between Bristol and Cardiff - a 696 seat train doing two shuttle runs before and after the Johnstones Paint Trophy Final (Bristol Rovers being involved). That is at FGWs request - because they realise their normal service offers nowhere near the required capacity to move up to 30,000 people to and from the game. The same sort of thing could be available to Northern Rail on April 15th if NR chose to make that arrangement. Which they should, because the capacity on offer without relief services would be a total joke.
