RoverInWigan Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 does anyone know what time the ticket office opens tomorrow for the sunday release
Ewood Spark Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Just off down to Ewood now to queue for the 14 tickets I need ... hope there aren't too many like minded souls in front of me.
Paul Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Can't get through on the phone as it's showing engaged. I've already got mine but had hoped to be able to buy extra today online. Appears that is not an option unless anyone is the wiser?
RoverInWigan Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 got my 4 tickets today. went down early at about half 7 and i were about 30th in the que. one guy infront of me bought 38 tickets .the girl at the desk nearly fainted ha ha. they were qued all the way down the blackburn end an it looks like there will be a steady flow throughout the day
RevidgeBlue Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I got there at 9.30, large queues already into the Blackburn End. Hell of a lot more came in after me but by 10 am the flow of people arriving had slowed down. Was absolutely delighted (and a bit surprised) to be able to purchase six of the 25 quid seats together seemingly no problem at all. Was queueing for 40 mins once the ticket office actually opened at 10. Can't wait now.
Dan Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Called up just before 11 and got through after being on hold for a few minutes. Did take about 10 tries though because the number was busy. Got 1 £55 ticket in the north stand. Was going to have to buy two but the missus decided she didn't want to go. So I'm going to be needed some names of pubs everyone will be meeting at!
Paul Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Got the extra tickets I needed without a problem. Phone3s initially very busy but by 11.30 I got through easily. Lady on the phone said they were very busy.
trs Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 . one guy infront of me bought 38 tickets .the girl at the desk nearly fainted ha ha. Bloody hell, I remember going to Chelsea many moons ago with less than 38
the original david brent Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Got 17 tickets this morning, only qued for 45 mins, steady stream of people there. The trains are going to be a major problem unless football specials are put on. Some lads I know of who went utd yesterday couldnt get on the train at darwen because it was so packed. Had to get a minibus to manc. Whats going to happen when theres c.25k people travelling to manc in 2 weeks? Especially for us getting on at darwen!

Does anyone know what it's like getting a tram away from OT on match day? Was thinking of parking somewhere like Bury or radcliffe and taking the metro
the original david brent Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Does anyone know what it's like getting a tram away from OT on match day? Was thinking of parking somewhere like Bury or radcliffe and taking the metro Did it a couple of years ago. Bit of a nightmare straight after the game. The stop is at the cricket ground about half mile away, narrow walkways leading to the platform, crammed like sardines. Bit like leaving the walkersteel stand at the back is the best example i can give! There is a stop further away from old trafford and closer to manc centre though.
cn174 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Does anyone know what it's like getting a tram away from OT on match day? Was thinking of parking somewhere like Bury or radcliffe and taking the metro I wouldn't recommend getting the tram back from the old trafford stop going back through the city centre. It would be a lot better to go the other way, park at either Eccles (someone has already mentioned this further up I think) and hit it from that angle.
only2garners Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Does anyone know what it's like getting a tram away from OT on match day? Was thinking of parking somewhere like Bury or radcliffe and taking the metro Paul, Use the tram park and ride at Ladywell next to Eccles. It's right by the M602 junction 2, parking is free and they have a security guard on. Trams are every 12 minutes and take about 15 minutes to get to Exchange Quay. It's then about a 10 minute walk to the ground. Cost £1.30 return adults and 70p (I think) for concessions. I did it again yesterday, arriving at 2.15 and in the ground at 2.45. Coming back you can get on the first tram although it's a bit of a crush. Then you can be straight on the motorway in no time. I was back at the car at 5.30 having been in no rush to get away from the ground.
berkshireblue Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 My mate got the 6 tickets we needed 3 season tickets plus 3 at around 2pm, was told first people to buy £45 tickets! A bit worrying but I am sure from what's on here 25k still realistic!
den Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 My mate got the 6 tickets we needed 3 season tickets plus 3 at around 2pm, was told first people to buy £45 tickets! A bit worrying but I am sure from what's on here 25k still realistic! Anyone still think 14000 is way out?
Manchester Blue Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Anyone still think 14000 is way out? Yes miles out! Plus that's rubbish about the £45 ones as we bought a good few of them days ago. There will be 20000 plus i'm sure of that.
Ewood-angel Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Went down to the ticket office about 4.30 this afternoon, bought 4 tickets for the £55 area. There was no queue but the girl behind the counter said they had managed to sell about 10,000 tickets so far! Something I learned from yesterdays visit to OT is there's not much leg room!
Neil Weaver Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Paul, Old Trafford station is on the Bury - Altricham line. Going either way, I'd guess it'll take at least 20 mins queueing before you can get on a tram. Exchange Quay is on the Piccadilly - Eccles line. I've never used that after the game but I would think for trams into Manc it won't be much different than Old Trafford station. So only2garners suggestion looks good to me. By the way if anyone is wondering how long it'll take to get to Piccadilly station (rather than Victoria) after the game via tram, yesterday it was about an hour including the queuing.
Shabani Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 im gonna be on the train for this game, stupid offish travel with their polices Im getting on at Langho so at least i'll be guaranteed a seat. feel sorry for those getting on in Blackburn!

Was thinking of parking somewhere like Bury or radcliffe and taking the metro You might struggle to park in Bury Town Centre even on a Sunday. Radcliffe Metrolink is attached to a huge free car park.
