[Archived] Headphone Jack In Laptops

The headphone jack on my laptop no longer works and the small metal ring that is there to help hold the headphone lead in regularly falls out. Does anyone know if it is possible for me to fix this myself and how costly or difficult this will be to have fixed?

it must surely still be in waranty?

If not, no I dont, but you might want to take it a decent computer shop who might be able to do it in 5 seconds

It is still under warranty, but if I take it in they will probably send it off and have it away for 10 days or so for a small problem so I was rather hoping to find an easier solution.
