bazza Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 We'd booked to go by coach and were due to be picked up at The Lancs and Yorks pub in Bamber Bridge. We waved at the two Rovers' trains going by, Diesels pulling about 11 or 12 carriages each; ram jam full. One coach turned up and couldn't take us all. The second never arrived. To cut a long story short, it took my mate about 40 minutes to get his diesel rover car and we joined the M6 at Bamber Bridge at 11:00am. The first time we saw a Rovers vehicle was coming off the M1 in London. I think we averaged 95 mph. We parked up at Wembley at 2:05pm.and ate our butties. Incredible to get there so quickly and to find a parking space so easily. Some Charlton fans spoke to us saying, "What a long way to come to get beaten". We just smiled and shook our heads. A great day. Thanks for the memory WB.
