sussexrover Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 One of my funniest memories of the Club Shop under its Sports World ownership was ordering a training top online - I cant remember the exact price, but for arguments sake lets say it was £25. They then sent the shirt to me with a 'Sale' sticker on it saying it was reduced to £15 and this had then been crossed out and marked down to £10. Yet I had still been charged £25 + postage. Now the price difference could possibly be backed up by saying it was an online order - but how difficult would it have been to tear off the sale sticker prior to posting??
Iceman Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I know, got the away jersey off there, well good prices and okay the shipping was pricey but i aint as cheap as icers eoin it would probably cost you nothing for P&P because your location is close. So i dont think you can compare your location to mine. its really stupid to pay for something thats 50 pounds, and having to pay 100 pounds for p&P..they might as well not package it,and maybe just throw it the ocean somewhere, and hopefully it will come floating towards me.lol
brian_gallagher85 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I'm not having that £100 cost Iccers...also nothing for P&P to Ireland, dream on
laughatthedingles Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Is there any training gear left? in normal adult sizes that is, i.e. M or L

Plus if you want to go by distance, i buy clothes online from the states....work out that postage!

Luckily a member of the messageboards steped in and helped me send them over to me at much cheaper rate.
Iceman Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 i just think the online shop should be more helpful to those living in countries outside the UK.Its a proper disgrace that you have to pay, more for something in P&P than the actual product itself. now i might buy something,so perhaps one of the members here would assist iccers with getting it here..anybody coming to Cape Town soon? Eoin

It's not the clubs fault you live miles away. I think the general idea is that you make a large order of goods, rather than just a home shirt, and then the postage isn't that bad.

Iceman Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 what you on about Bucky? Local shop for local people, who cares...im discussing the online shop,as i too would like to get in some merchandise. Its people with those whole ###### mentality, that pushes fans from across the world away.

BuckyRover Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I don't suppose South Africa has picked up on the League of Gentlemen.

Ste B Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 shut up u mug! We'll have less of that thanks. Perhaps the club should open a shop in South Africa just for you. I'm sure if anybody here wanted to order goods from SA, then we'd have to pay a premium for postage. Costs money to transport these things, and somebody has to pay.
American Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Went to Lillywhite's in London today. Rovers gear is all in the corner, hidden away. Went their last year and it was all in the center. Effect of the broken relationship with Sportsworld, or sales not that good? They didn't have a terrible selection, though, home and away, training shirts, pullover top.

brian_gallagher85 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Just a novel idea Iccers, but how about waiting on the actual online club shop to open up again under the clubs control, then come back on crying is things haven't changed
bob fleming Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Its people with those whole ###### mentality, that pushes fans from across the world away. To the point where they feel isolated? Almost as though they've been pushed to the other side of the world? Damn them, damn them all and their online pushing ways. "WELCOME TO SPORTSWORLD - YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE". Well I did, through the doors next to the entrance that say "OUT" on them. Wait for the new club shop Icebloke - it can't be any worse. Then again will they be selling football socks as cheaply? Two for a pound?! (plus £100 P&P to South Africa of course)
