Sandiway Blue Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I must admit to being sorely tempted to really start doing shirts and whatnot, the issue being one of both copyright, and image rights. And sadly I dont profess to knowing enough about that to want to bite the bullet so to speak. Mini kits are a definite goer though, even without the club badge the blue and white halves signify something. From the supplier I sourced they would retail at £3 including postage and packing. repeatedly. Thats a great idea! How about putting the old red rose with BRFC emblem on ? i think the retro look would go down a storm. As the club don`t use the emblem anymore maybe there won`t be too much hassle with regards to copyright?

I'd definately buy one if they were available!
cletus Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Who was overheard complaining to 3 other members of staff how ridiculous it was that many people had turned up "we told the players they'd only need to be here for an hour - this is outrageous" Hardly rocket science is it? New shirts released + players on duty + school holidays = EFFIN BUSY!!! A supporters run shop would put the official shop to shame.
roversmum Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 To be fair, the players have been sitting at the tables waiting for folks to turn at the recent shirt releases, half an hour would have been enough, let alone an hour. I think the club was quite shocked at the number of fans that turned up. And thanks, Mr Newsham, I was past Roque so fast he was just a blur! They had been there a couple of hours though, so fair enough.
Quack Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 do jjb have rovers shirts in yet? Not in Bury - racks of scum shirts. Rangers home and away, Real Madrid and even Notlob but no Rovers shirts!
BlueMonday Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Can someone answer this. Is the on-line shop owned and run by the club as opposed to the Sportsworld shop. If it is we should all be buying our replicas from the on-line shop ensuring our money goes to the club. let that Rag & Bone shop wither on the vine and we'll be shot of it !

brian_gallagher85 Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I think I heard on the official boards that the online shop has been further outsourced to a company called etail or something like that
ptholt Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Thought i would add my own recent experiences to this post. For over 12 months we have been trying to order my 9yr old a full rovers kit, but everytime we tried something was out of stock.. i refuse to believe they sell that many kids kits! Anyway, with the launch of the new kit they actually had items in stock So we ordered a full kit for my son, a shirt for me and a t-shirt for my daughter the total came to approx 90 quid and we were offered two postage options to here in portugal. one at 18 quid for airmail, one next day dhl for 29 quid. We opted for the 29 quid option and my son was beside himself with excitement, items arrived and it had been shipped airmail.... So we called the store to complain and were told "we do not use DHL any more so there is nothing we can do" er ive just paid for a service you no longer offer and you have shipped using the cheaper service and still charged me for the more expensive one! The person on the phone would just say "there is nothing we can do" and eventually put the phone down on us. Nice! cheers for that love. Call them back more angrier than earlier to be told we were getting angry so they put the phone down, er yes im a little angry as you have conned me! eventually after explaining the above about 4 times they realised that they had charged us for the more expensive service, but shipped using the cheapest service and we were due a refund, well done, took about 4 phone calls and several grey hairs but the overall attitude of there staff is very poor.
roversmum Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I would complain to the club if they had been in a coma for the last 3/4 years. Frankly if they don't know now that the shop is a disgrace they never will do. All they need to do is go in and have a look around. But then of course it has nothing to do with BRFC has it? It's run and owned by Sports World. The fact that it resides 20 yards from the Blackburn End is just a coincience. Having said that you can see why some people foolishly associate a shop 20 yards from the ticket office with BRFC and presume it will stock a plethora of BRFC merchandise. Now that would be strange. They'd probably sell a lot more if that was the case - but then they'd be a lot busier. The perception is that they could probably do without all that. Anyway, I'm sure I read on here from someone on the Fans Forum that steps are at an advanced stage to get out of the contract. I appreciate what you are saying, Bob, but as the club are trying to sort something out about the shop, the more complaints they receive the more ammunition they have for the cause. Keep the complaints, points and suggestions coming, folks!
BlueMonday Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 If the club shop does revert back to Rovers ownership, I seriously hope the current shop manager will be got rid of, and at the very least the shop assistants sent off to boot camp and re-trained. Better still replace the lot with people who share the Rovers dream.
ABBEY Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 i had a 1/4 chat with lyndsay today on the phone, she seemed very frustrated and said there were lots of complaints about the shop and staff attitude ...ah well jjb in blackburn have loads and its only a fiver or so the girl told me for a name...STUFF EWOOD JJB IT IS!!!
dj54nna Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I was in the shop today to get my new shirt and the two lads behind the counter were quite friendly and helpful. The biggest problem seemed to be the complete lack of staff in the shop at the time.
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I could count on one hand the number of times I have been in the club shop.... being from Ireland and all ...but I have also noted on the few occassions that most of the lads in there are pretty good at there jobs, however that blonde haired one, you know the one, I think that perhaps this is quite suitable
1864roverite Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I think if they removed Beamish then the whole concept of commercialism at Ewood Park would be a whole lot better. Start rooting at the top and work down I say. The shop is a disgrace, its dirty and the staff are just bored to tears. Bring back the club shop on Bolton Road, it was a darn sight better than this current place, friendlier and you could actually get some seriously good Rovers merchandise.

Cheshireblue Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Let us not forget that th eclub wer eonly too happy to take the Sports World money to outsource the shop in the first place. You could never accuse Sportsworld of being customer focused or having great aftersales service, so there is an element of blame that can be levelled at the board for doing the deal in the first place.
philipl Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 SWI have proved themselves to be the pits of the back end of the sewer nobody dares to clean in the retailing fraternity (who are hardly the most fragrant- that is the only part of this contibution which is mine and not a quote). If they were not selling a product people will walk the wrong end of a U bend to go to buy, Newcastle would still be Freddie'd. To quote a retail guru and seriously rich guy who would rather not be named. PS the colourful bits were left out.
