Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Best keeper we've ever had Here's to another year Big Brad!
ihateburnley Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 To be honest, I see no reason why Brad can't carry on aslong as his body is up to it. I checked on my FM game and he is still Rovers No 1 aged 42!!!
Cocker Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 He sorted it out over a cup of coffee - now why cant more footballers be like that
S15 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 He should have kept that under his hat, the state of these doping tests nowadays caffine will probably get him an 8 month ban.

Mr. E Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I can only tip my hat to this man. I don't really have a "favourite football player", but if I did, it would be him.
thenodrog Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Even when we sign a replacement he would be a damned good understudy for another year or two. btw.... "Friedel, who has been at Ewood Park since 2000, insisted the extra year was for love, not money. Friedel wants to finish his career at Ewood following globetrotting spells with Brondby in Denmark, Galatasaray in Turkey, and Liverpool. The former United States goalkeeper has a soccer school in his home state Ohio, but said: "I love this club. My agent is Paul Stretford, but I did the deal myself. I had a nice chat over a cup of coffee with chairman John Williams. There was no need to go in and have a big battle." Now just what sort of a Chief Scout to ensure a constant supply of North American talent he could turn into eh? Find the best talent, get em over to Brockhall, bring em on .... and then sell em! Good business.
SAS Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 brilliant news how many keepers can say theyve been first choice at a club for 9 years
roversmum Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Brad: you love this club; this club loves you. Legend (where's that 'wub' smiley gone? )

We missed you this last world cup but im glad your still glad your here till the end.
ihateburnley Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Whilst I think Brad can continue as our No1, I have a good feeling about Jason Brown aswell. As long as he is willing to bide his time waiting in the wings, Jason will be a class-act for us I'm sure of it.
Presty On Tour Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 friedel is just a true pro and awesome at his profession. he loves the club, we love him, the best goalkeeper i've ever seen in my life....he's like a brick wall between the pipes and long may it continue!!!!
RovertheHill Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I'll put my tin hat on now I remember starting a thread whilst Flitty was still with us about him deserving a testimonial and getting flamed about it (by many of the same people having a go at Bellamy and Neill for a lack of loyalty) But surely, surely, at the end of his time with us Brad will deserve one - perhaps a charity one?
modes98 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Most consistent keeper around and damn good with it. A true professional. this wub emo roversmum?
Modi Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 To date, Brad has played in 302 matches for Rovers - 244 league, 27 FA Cup, 17 league cup and 14 UEFA Cup matches. (figs from official site - so blame Lee if they are wrong!) By my reckoning, he's missed just 12 games since joining the club. With 7 (or 8) matches left this season, and an average of 46 games a season (believe it or not, that's what we've done since getting back to the Premiership!) Brad could end up with over 400 appearances! Incidentally, anyone know how many players have reached that landmark?
Finch Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Brad: you love this club; this club loves you. Legend (where's that 'wub' smiley gone? ) you and me both mum Brad
frosty Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Glad he's signed a new deal, don't know how we could replace him when he does retire though....
revolutionrock! Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 what a player he is,true legend. i agree with people saying j brown will be good, just have to hope hes prepared to wait.
T4E Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 There should be a Rovers Hall of Fame, and Brad should be the inaugural entrant. Legend isn't a strong enough word. I don't think a strong enough word exists.

I don't think a strong enough word exists. We are very lucky to have two players on the books who are true rovers heroes in Tugay and Freidal. And we could have two more in Derbyshire and Nelsen who both look likely to be here for the long haul.
