Stuart Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Interesting one in BBC Gossip today: Aston Villa are keen on Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop as he looks for a long-term replacement for Brad Friedel. (Sunday People) The more time goes on, the more the signing of Robinson looks like a very good deal. Have to wonder if this was really an Ince signing or Williams'. Or if it was just good fortune as a result of the Bentley deal.
philipl Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I have yet to see any convincing refutation of the argument that Ince had arrived with an agenda to boot Friedel out of the club because of old emnities.
Tris Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I have yet to see any convincing refutation of the argument that Ince had arrived with an agenda to boot Friedel out of the club because of old emnities. Brad Friedel "Thinking Outside The Box" page 224 The Blackburn fans need to know that at no stage did Paul Ince, or anyone at Blackburn for that matter, want me to leave.
thenodrog Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Brad Friedel "Thinking Outside The Box" page 224 Oh thats all right then. I do so believe PR statements. Shame on you Gunner for suspecting Ince of being an obnoxious prat.
Tris Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Oh thats all right then. I do so believe PR statements. Shame on you Gunner for suspecting Ince of being an obnoxious prat. You two are becoming like the unholy alliance
jim mk2 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Only an idiot would believe what's written in a player's biography. Ince forced Friedel out as a result of a tiff in their Liverpool days - everyone knows that.
thenodrog Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Crikey!! Now it's the (un)Holy Trinity!!

philipl Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I was unaware of that line in the Friedel biography but was aware of an overwhelming amount of chat amongst people with inside access that pointed to Ince having Brad's card numbered from the moment he had got the job. Incidentally, I am also quite convinced that Brad found himself in need of a boost in income from his football days because some investments not working out right back in the USA and that he and Randy Lerner had spoken back in Ohio. Even so, Ince made what otherwise would have been a very difficult decision extremely easy indeed because there was no future for Brad at Rovers.
Backroom Tom Posted October 31, 2009 Backroom Posted October 31, 2009 Congratulations Brad on 200 consectutive prem games, some feat.
tcj_jones Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 An absolutely astonishing feat. What a pro.
Hughesy Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Rovers Legend....top pro and a fine example to any young lad. 200 consecutive games, dating back to 2004 - fantastic!
jodrell Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 He has more than 100 games than his nearest rival and no-one else has got 100 consecutive games.
thenodrog Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Bet he hasn't had a congratulatory message from Paul Ince.
waggy Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 i've been reading friedals book,he says in it gamst is worth 10 times what we paid for him
Hughesy Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 He has more than 100 games than his nearest rival and no-one else has got 100 consecutive games. Thats based on current consecutive games only. James was ahead of his last season but broke his sequence through injury.
waggy Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Bet he hasn't had a congratulatory message from Paul Ince. i suggest you read brads book gordon, all that bile spouted by the dingle loving nicko is a load off codswollop, brad states he and ince are firmest of friends
Amo Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 oh how i wish he would have stayed You'd think his feelings for the club would be bigger than his issues with Ince. I guess Lerner's cash was extra incentive.
sam_rovers Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Cash always is. its a shame.. you don't truly appreciate what you have until you see the replacement!
slough_rover Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Robbo's not that bad ffs As long as its not from further than 20 yards then yea hes not that bad.
