Wolverine Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Do we not usually start bickering about new shirts for next season about now? Or are we sticking for a year? Or shall I add another question?
Hughesy Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 New kits as we will have a new sponsor, should be sorted out in the next few weeks.
Cheshireblue Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I've seen the home shirt for next year and it looks very good. Very clean lines, uncluttered and traditional. I think you will all like it. We're on white socks again. Umbro wanted to do blue socks but Mr Hughes apparently wanted white as the are easier to see and they make you look taller. Tugay should wear three pairs.... It will be Umbro and more importantly, it will be in the shops on time.

Good news.... and the away kit won't be grey either!
modes98 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 it will be in the shops on time. Don't be stupid. It would be the first time in living memory! At least Umbro can do the job right!
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I asked Lee about doing what we have done in recent years and vote, but got no response...I even suggested we steal Boro's genius idea - KIT IDOL
doctorryan Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Maybe, just maybe, we're keeping the red & black halves.
Ste B Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 It will not be going to a fans vote as per previous years. It was brought up at the recent fans forum.
3rdpillar Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Keep the Red and Black halfs. the 2nd best kit in british football.
modes98 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Jan 29 2008, 11:04 ) 582020[/snapback] It will not be going to a fans vote as per previous years. Yes, they need a new sponsor, according to the fans forum minutes, before the end of feb for umbro`s deadline
modes98 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Yes, they need a new sponsor, according to the fans forum minutes, before the end of feb for umbro`s deadline If we all chip in we could get brfcs.co.uk on the shirts That's good though. I have never got used to the target on the shirt.
only2garners Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Is this the last year of bet24? Yes it is. The club are looking for a new sponsor right now, along with 7 other Premier league clubs so the market is very competitive. The release of next season's shirts is obviously dependent on agreeing the new sponsor. If someone knows the shirts will be in the shops in good time that might suggest that the club have agreed a deal. It was clear at the Fans' Forum that they would not be rushed into the wrong sponsorship deal and were even contemplating air freighting shirts in from the Far East if necessary if time got tight in the Summer. All this is in the minutes of the Forum on the official site.
Presty On Tour Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 is the new sponsor going to be easy jet?
revolutionrock! Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 All this is in the minutes of the Forum on the official site. 2008/09 Shirt Sponsorship SW updated the meeting on progress on a new shirt sponsorship deal for next season. For the first time the club had used an outside specialist agency who had done a thorough costing of the value of shirt sponsorship for prospective sponsors. The market for shirt sponsorship had changed significantly in recent years and there was much more interest from overseas companies and global brands following the successful marketing of the Premier League in overseas TV markets. The club were hoping to have a deal in place by February, which would fit in with deadlines from Umbro for shirt manufacture. The club were talking to interested parties but it was a very competitive market as another 7 Premier League clubs were also looking for new sponsors. It was hoped that everything would be resolved in time for Umbro to produce the new shirts in good time for the new season. However, the club would not allow themselves to miss a better commercial deal to meet these deadlines. If necessary the club would consider air freighting the new shirts to make them available at the right time. There was a further discussion about the suitability of having a gambling company as a shirt sponsor on shirts sold to children. The club were aware of the issues and also the restrictions that this gave the club but had to balance these concerns with commercial considerations.
bringdunnback Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 http://www2.sportindustry.biz/index.php?op...0&Itemid=30 tells us Bonham Group Europe will be searching for our sponsors.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 So this lot get Arsenal Emirates and we get EasyJet ?
mattyboy6000 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 anyone worked out a good way of getting the bet24 logo off the current shirt. i absolutely love the away kit but i hate that bloody sticker.. and you don't seem to be able to by shirts without the sponsors logo anymore.
disgruntled Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Typical, previous everyone moaned that the logo kept coming off! Stick it in the tumble dryer thats what used to do the damage. As for selling shirts without sponsorship - erm, thats the point of sponsorship, getting a companies name out there
Cocker Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I just hope we can keep the black and red halved shirt forever. Best away shirt in ages

Yeah, I agree, can't stand that logo. Bring back McEwans!!
Rover down South Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I just hope we can keep the black and red halved shirt forever. Best away shirt in ages Nice shirt, but not as good as the black shirt with thin red lines (title winning away shirt) Loved that shirt, still got it somewhere.
