Very good Bob  How about knocking the Riverside down completely, putting up a large white board and buying a super duper space age projector and projecting images of Anfield the other night doing You'll Never Walk Alone (with surround sound naturally). All that would be required would be to paint over the red scarves as being blue and hey presto, a passionate full stand that holds 10,000 - we could even fiddle our attendances upwards, for a change, to show 31,367 on every home game. :brfc:

Think of the tax on those 10k fake fans though.

How can we make Ewood a fortress when one of our walls is only half built?

Four proper sides would keep the noise in, intimidate the opposition players/fans, make sure we aren't putting off potential signings, and make sure we look after the fans that sit or plan to sit in the Riverside stand.

Fans make noise.... not buildings made of bricks and mortar and a re-developed Riverside would not contribute to an increase in fan numbers.

Nail. Head.

Now if one of our more affluent supporters want to pay for it, I'm sure the club wouldn't mind the stand being named after them.

How about the 'Thenodrog Stand'.

At least there'd be toilets at each corner not just at 2 as at present.

Tell you all what ... the club should have a straw poll on the subject of all Blackburn ST holders. I wonder what %age would be in favour of having a new Riverside but with a return to 'normal' ST prices to pay for it?

Sorry , Fife .....!

Aha! QED. Your reply to my reply has proved my point. The fact that you have apologised shows that you could not tell that I was being facetious :)

Ooh, err...and the fact that I have replied in similar vein to your reply to my reply to your reply shows that I cannot tell when you are being facetious as well in your reply to my reply. Are you following this? Pay attention! and sit up straight in my class!! Arms folded; eyes on the blackboard!

Colin, PNE's stand is being built in partnership with the NHS.

The scheme includes a new 4,500-seat East

Stand, which will incorporate public health clinic.

The clinic will be operated by Preston Primary Care Trust,

and will cater for approximately 10,500 patients.

Thanks Alan, ( & BTW Stuwilky)

Deepdale is then being rebuild as a partnership with the NHS rather than just being built with public money.

I know. It's a bit of a sliver of a difference. No doubt the NHS will actually own some part of Deepdale. Or at least have PNE by the clinical testicals if the latter ever wants to sell the ground.

When reading posts on this thread one can never tell whether the poster is being serious, facetious, or just plain stupid!

I think seriously stupid about covers it, and I'm not just referring to this thread.

Just musing...... but looking at the focus of the international money men on the EPL and the influx of significant new monies inflating players values (again) gives me fears that a small poorly supported club like BRFC could be most attractive in the near future to some unscrupulous asset stripper.

You're a regular ray of sunshine on this damp bank holiday weekend.

I think I'm confident that the Trust's criteria for selling the club are tight enough that that's unlikely. The hand of protection from beyond the grave, bless you Jack Walker!

Better to have someone in the crows nest than to hit the rocks unawares.

 Deeyell....... I think I'm turning into Cantona!

ARGH!!! nooooooooooooooooooooooooo :D

Do you need them both or could you donate one to a poor student ;)

Nothing new on the takeover then :(

It does seem quiet on the takeover front

regarding the donation, you would have to speak French or Chinese and be able to afford the running costs
