Have I got to repeat that the Sunday Express paid £18,500 in damages and issued an apology?

I left The Inde because I wanted to.

Still waiting for the name of the Southampton sniper.

Cookiemonster has ID'd him correctly using no outside help - so if you're that bothered I'm sure that your highly tuned investigative flair will come up trumps within minutes.

Meanwhile, the one issue you keep steering well away from is the whole Princeton Global Housing stuff. Billion dollar contracts etc. If there is one thing that needs answering about Dan Williams - that is it. And you would appear to be the best placed person to investigate it properly and let us all know the story.

(Edit) - you can't be too happy that the Express story is still live and freely available on the internet? Presumably you have current legal action ongoing against the locations where we can all read the original story???

why on gods earth would someone class what Nicko is doing as a PR activity

giving us information is keeping us sweet for a takeover? erm please give us some credit

what a stupid idea, and anyone who considers it lives in a dreamworld

what possible difference would it make by nicko impressing, what?, 200 people?

FACT I couldn't give a hoot what your opinion about me is, this is an internet forum and you and I are both entitled to our opinions!

If you don't give a hoot about what others think about you, why are you then putting in so much effort to try and damage the "reputation" of another poster? We are all quite aware of the fact that you and several others, like a lot of us, have doubts over this take-over and Dan Williams. It is also quite clear that you don't think very much of Nicko. Now that it is clear why don't you just move on and wait and see who turns out to be correct?

Eddie - you have posted 29 times in this topic, and nobody has ever asked you to move on.

This is my 23rd contribution, so if it's ok with you, I'll have 6 more and then we can call it quits.

As for trying to damage reputations, read back. I haven't.

So what if nicko is a PR plant, I dont think he is by the way. His contributions to this board have made a quiet rovers summer into an interesting one.

Its down to John Williams, the trust and the appointed advisors to decide if any deal is right for the rovers, not nicko and not us.

I am not keen on rovers being sold, and I am encouraged by the length of time talks have gone on for. It appears there is no rush to sell us to the first bidder that comes along. It will be a really good deal to exceed the £5m given to us by the trust each year.

Message to Guided Missile - Dont worry about us. We are a really well run club, we are not Southampton.

Questions I have ....................

1. OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE. How much money is DW worth? West Africas veriosn of social housing??? How much profit does that generate? And repeating a naughty phrase from the start of this thread - "SHOW ME THE MONEY!"

2. Why has a tabloid journo posted 50?100? messages in this thread alone? I know these guys can type fast but surely it takes a while to get the brain functioning?

3. Which tabloid journo has "nailed his colours to the mast" in relation to the takeover of an english premier league football club and currently risks looking a right idiot if it doesn't work out? Especially if said journo has had insider information!!lol

4. What is the ratio of positive/negative BRFC stories reporting by our mate nicko?

5. Which tabloid journo just seems to be defending his articles a teeny weeny bit too much?

6. WTF do many people on this board think hes a "good egg" on the basis of him supplying a few bits of transfer information? Why wasnt he giving this info last season or the season before? Why now when "the takeover" is happening? Why devote so many hours to this message board NOW?? And in case anyone is wondering why a few hundred rovers fans on her matter ................... 15000 season ticket holders, several thousand BRFCS.COM members, err I think its significant in terms of numbers and more so in terms of opinion and influence.

7. Why would anyone on this site take sides with red-top journo (kisses talsiman to ward off the evil eye) against respected members of this site?? Forget personal and political differences, I would be more inclined to believe the veracity and integrity of people that have posted for 5 years than people with a few months behind them (especially if they are not even rovers supporters ...... more so if they are journolists ..... and even more so if they have vested interests).

And just in case I havent made myself clear, in my very humble uninformed and naive opinion .......

Alan Nixon doesnt give a toss about Blackburn Rovers. Why would he? Hes from Glasgow or Cowdenbeath, whatever. He has taken a position on this matter, whether he likes it or not, and is now defending it like there is no tomorrow. I find it strange that he is insinuating things on this board but giving no concrete evidence, and then criticises people who are sceptical. OOOOAAARGh tell me your name and number and I'll get a bloody high court writ! sounds like a Ken Bates stance to me!

I find the Williams take over scenario completely baffling.

On the one hand things couldn't look less promising if it was a New Jersey based Burnley fan perpetrating an elaborate hoax.

1) It's odd no-one seems to have ever heard of Daniel Williams before in the sense that he claims to be a long standing Blackburn Rovers supporter who also happens to have made it extremely big. In comparison with the "big 4" we probably don't have a lot of those sort of fans.

2) For someone who is supposedly such a successful businessman, there seems to be no public information whatsoever available about him on the internet. Initial enquiries revealed a bizarre site "DJW Ventures" which referred to the purchase of Rovers which is now claimed to be fake. A second website which purports to relate to his principle line of business (princetonglobal.com) also looks extremely suspect. It hasn't been updated for nearly twelve months and the photographs contained on there are clearly stock images imported off the internet rather than relating to any genuine activity.

3) Similarly, for someone who purports to be such a successful businessman, why does there only seem to be one picture available of him? (Which looks something akin to a College graduation portrait?)

4) Following the allegedly fake DJW ventures website, someone comes on Southampton fans forums, expressing interest in buying that club again we're told, someone purporting to be Daniel Williams. Has the real Daniel Williams just been extremely unlucky in that respect twice?

5) Daniel Williams backers are alleged to be an apparently legitimate company based in Connetticutt - Plainfield Asset Management. No public corroboration whatsoever of that from anyone there.

6) Despite the blaze of initial publicity, nothing much of substance seems to be actually happening now and it's alleged that delay with negotiations is down to the fact that Daniel Williams realises he initially overbid for Rovers by a substantial amount and that there is now a dispute over valuation. Very unusual for someone to come in high and work downwards, at least before any inspection of the books has even taken place.

On the other hand:

1) Whilst there was nothing specific to report it was confirmed in passing at the Fans Forum that Daniel Williams had been in discussions with the Trustees. There was no indication whatsoever that the club were in any way uncomfortable with this and surely if he wasn't genuine he'd have been rumbled instantly?

2) Former director Walter Hubert has seemingly staked his reputation on vouching for Daniel Williams. (Although nicko did say in his original story he stood to gain a 1m quid "fixit" fee and potentially a seat on the Board.)

All extremely weird.

P.S. I presume it is possible to do the equivalent of a search at Companies House in the US? That should reveal whether any of Daniel Williams' ventures have any real worth instantly?

I still think the extent of some of the criticism towards nicko is very unfair, if he just happens to have uncovered Michael Knighton mark 2 that not his fault, it's Daniel Williams' (or whoever is purporting to go by that name)

I don't think there's any way nicko could be a deliberate "plant" - if he was, he hasn't done a very good job so far - the way the information has trickled out thus far has hardly placed Daniel Williams in a favourable light.

Nicko could I ask, since you broke the story originally, have you met Daniel Williams or any of his staff in person, or has it been live contact over the telephone, or maybe not even that?

Cheers.

Some more Dan Williams info: http://www.elitegraduatejobs.com/biosbod.asp

Once again the news section of the site doesn't appear to have been updated since Jan 2006 and that only appears to be a newsletter referring to 2005 activities.

The "contact us" address details also appear to correspond with the details guided missile gave for the person who registered the allegedly fake "DJW Ventures" site.

The same "contact us" address also appears on the website for princeton global housing which allegedly has contracts "worth north of a billion dollars".

The administrator of that Southampton MB posted this:

OK I was the other person who that email was sent to. You may I ask why? I will tell you all, now that email has become public.

After reading GM's posts and his little detective work (BE WELL) I started to rip apart the emails that were sent to me by Dan Williams.

In his internet header in the email was his ip address. So me being me be put it into our admin board ip checker. Guess what HELPMERHONDA appears. So I double check the ip address which finds it self to about 20 miles from the Williams Farm in the US. Now unless this is very much coincidental, you give me a good reason why that is the same.

So either DAN Williams and HELPMERHONDA are the same person or they are very much in the same camp.

I then challenged Dan Williams about this...asking why, what, who and got very much the same email that ST David recieved.

So it looks like his fingers got burnt and he now doesnt like it.

But my biggest gripe is why would HMR / Dan be passing information to members on this board, not just snippets but full blown drafts of indicitve bids, plans of developement

I think I remember reading the back end of an exchange on the official MB of Rovers in which a poster called Helpmerhonda got banned pretty sharpish.

It did not make much sense at the time but perhaps Lee/ the Rovers management had done their own research

Incidentally, a poster called Dantheman came on here writing in the third person saying he was backing Dan Williams.

I remain in the healthily sceptical camp and like one other poster mentioned, 1864 I think, wait to hear the official line from the club. This has always been and, hopefully will remain, the one source we can trust. The lack of comment from the club cannot be interpreted one way or another as this has been our style for sometime.

What I feel may prove to be a problem for Dan Williams should his group become the new owners of Rovers is damaging discussion of the type in the last few pages. I think Damage and Revidge Blue sum it up very well, the whole situation appears very odd to say the least. Rovers management have worked hard to be transparent with the supporters, it's to be hoped this will continue whoever our future owners are. If it is Daniel Williams he will need to clear up the questions raised by the alleagtions and counter-allegations seen in threads on here and the Saints boards. With a subject as emotive as one's football club just a small amount of mud sticks - and I know I'm as bad as any in that respect. I just can't help but wonder and worry about what on earth is motivating these new investors in the PL.

QUOTE(Ste B @ Aug 3 2007, 19:34 ) 533963[/snapback]
That said, something doesnt appear to add up. Time will tell I guess.

I'll give you that one Ste. Fortunately there are people paid large amounts of money to ensure that it does all add up. I just hope that they do their sums correctly for the well being and future of BRFC, rather than just making a few bob in the short term. We'll not know the details I guess and nor should we. However...

There's been too much tittle tattle, too much discussion and too much press about all this. It's not the way things should be done. Nor I imagine the way that Rovers would like to do business.

The fact that nicko was able to find the "exclusive" via investigative journalism again doesn't, IMO, reflect too well on Dan Williams. Then again a cynic may say that he wanted to be "uncovered". :o

The first we should have known about a takeover was when it was announced as concluded or that due diligence was being under taken. The fact that there have been articles in the LT and Sunday People certainly doesn't impress me, it's almost as though I need "winning over" (which ironically after reading this thread and those articles I undoubtedly do - more than ever). It's almost as though they're trying too hard. Put the money into the club, help it progress, put the funds in place to secure it's long term future in the top flight of English football and I'll be happy.

Maybe I'm asking for too much but at this moment in time, football wise at least (football - ah yes, that's what it's all about), we're in our healthiest position for years - but we're still for sale.

What would Jack make of it all?

I have no problem with people disagreeing with each other, but that went beyond it. There were people there going into his career and why he had left certain papers or worked for others, it wasn't simply each person putting their case forward with regards to our potential take-over.
