[Archived] Rovers Sold ??

Recommended Posts

I think the point which has to be made here is that whilst there has been a lack of infomation in recent weeks, Daniel Williams has never said that he was going to buy the club with is own money. He readily admits that he does not have the ressources to buy the club on his own. He apparently has a consortium looking to invest. Therefore any link made between his house/farm/golfcourse/1970's ford cortina or whatever, bears no relation to his attempts in a buy out.

I just wonder if all of this rumour mongering might not have an adverse effect.

Here's a 2006 US Securities and Exchange Commission report on one of Dan's investment partners, Plainfield Asset Management LLC.

My question about they're being big enough to purchase Rovers still stands.

Here is the site to use in researching US companies. They don't list Princeton Housing Partners.

Presumably it's not a public company. Only public companies appear on Edgar

All this is absolutely fascinating. I have wasted nearly a full day at work reading through a large part of this thread and the Nicko thread. Excellent entertainment, full blown soap stuff. And am absolutely non the wiser as to the current situation of the takeover.

Everyone, keep it up.

Is there any GOOD reason why you should be?

What interests me most about this thread is the skepticism that people have with Rovers management. It's almost as if internet sleuthing will provide better information about the potential buyers than Rovers due diligence, which I'm sure includes company records research and probably follow-ups by private investigators.

But I guess a bunch of web surfers know better than a group of people who have been running successful business(es) for years....

the comment wasn't aimed at you, just in general ..... i am sure that when there is something 'worth' telling, it will be told, and anyway i am sure that takeovers aren't usually conducted in the public arena with 'customers' (which is what we are to a business) spoon fed information

I think the Mirror might be worth reading in the morning.

I hope that the wait is worth it and I also hope that the paper knows a good story when it sees one.

In a shamless bid to sell papers I will just leave it at that.

If the story is not printed in all of its glory I will fill on some gaps tomorrow.

But for now that's all I can say.

I am completely lost on this Guided Ars*hole - Dan Williams take over saga - Nicko seems fine to me, and hasn`t caused the meassge board any harm, yet some of the posts towards him, have been quite personal, obviously there are angry people !

but what I`m not understanding, is who is GM ? is it Mr Rupert, friend of the old England Rugby coach ? can someone put me out of my misery and PM me or something !
