j166429 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I think the point which has to be made here is that whilst there has been a lack of infomation in recent weeks, Daniel Williams has never said that he was going to buy the club with is own money. He readily admits that he does not have the ressources to buy the club on his own. He apparently has a consortium looking to invest. Therefore any link made between his house/farm/golfcourse/1970's ford cortina or whatever, bears no relation to his attempts in a buy out. I just wonder if all of this rumour mongering might not have an adverse effect.

seahawkdad Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Here's a 2006 US Securities and Exchange Commission report on one of Dan's investment partners, Plainfield Asset Management LLC. My question about they're being big enough to purchase Rovers still stands. Here is the site to use in researching US companies. They don't list Princeton Housing Partners.

Presumably it's not a public company. Only public companies appear on Edgar
salothsar Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 All this is absolutely fascinating. I have wasted nearly a full day at work reading through a large part of this thread and the Nicko thread. Excellent entertainment, full blown soap stuff. And am absolutely non the wiser as to the current situation of the takeover. Everyone, keep it up.
Fife Rover Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 All this is absolutely fascinating. I have wasted nearly a full day at work reading through a large part of this thread and the Nicko thread. Excellent entertainment, full blown soap stuff. And am absolutely non the wiser as to the current situation of the takeover. Everyone, keep it up. Is there any GOOD reason why you should be?
salothsar Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Probably not but I thought that after 80 odd pages I might have gleened a little more insight
seahawkdad Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 But just think how much you now know about so little...
American Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 What interests me most about this thread is the skepticism that people have with Rovers management. It's almost as if internet sleuthing will provide better information about the potential buyers than Rovers due diligence, which I'm sure includes company records research and probably follow-ups by private investigators. But I guess a bunch of web surfers know better than a group of people who have been running successful business(es) for years....
roversmum Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 In a nutshell, American, couldn't have put it better myself...
Backroom trueblue Posted August 17, 2007 Backroom Posted August 17, 2007 It's been well over a week since we had any news on this proposed 'take-over'... nothing from the club, nothing in any of the papers... what's going on?
Guest fernhurstblue Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 the phrase "information junkie's" springs to mind ..... just let things take their natural course
Backroom trueblue Posted August 17, 2007 Backroom Posted August 17, 2007 Information Junkie ??? for taking an interest in what's happening to the club I support ?
Guest fernhurstblue Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 the comment wasn't aimed at you, just in general ..... i am sure that when there is something 'worth' telling, it will be told, and anyway i am sure that takeovers aren't usually conducted in the public arena with 'customers' (which is what we are to a business) spoon fed information
BlueMonday Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Must be some hardnosed negotiations going on. With any luck thats because there are other interested parties. It might even be Rovers who are taking their time on this, which would fill me with more confidence.
den Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 More likely a stand-off because of difference in valuations?
j166429 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 More likely a stand-off because of difference in valuations? I have it from a very reliable source that this is exactly the reason why it is taking as long as it has
Brfcrule1 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 hello Nicko, I know it has been a while any news on rovers takeover talks? has a bid been lodged any idea on howlong before due dilligence and approx. how long do you think a takeover will happen have searched all over but can't find any new news on it? any help would be great speak to you all later
Eddie Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I would say you are unlikely to get an answer. Best we all be patient and just see what happens.
modes98 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 It won't make any difference to cash available for transfers now anyway so i imagine things will slow down as a value is reached. Assuming that Danny boy is still interested.
robborover Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I would say you are unlikely to get an answer. Best we all be patient and just see what happens. i think you're right. it will take time and one day we'll hear. best to enjoy the football instead.
LWX Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 i wonder who the queen supports?? she must have a few quid!
thenodrog Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 i wonder who the queen supports?? she must have a few quid! J K Rowland has more! Trouble is I think she's more interested in the Chudley Cannons.
rebelmswar Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 i wonder who the queen supports?? she must have a few quid! I see her as a Spurs fan. "One loves the Hotspur" The Queen to Prince Phillip in regards to his support of West Ham.
nicko Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I think the Mirror might be worth reading in the morning. I hope that the wait is worth it and I also hope that the paper knows a good story when it sees one. In a shamless bid to sell papers I will just leave it at that. If the story is not printed in all of its glory I will fill on some gaps tomorrow. But for now that's all I can say.
Taggart Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I am completely lost on this Guided Ars*hole - Dan Williams take over saga - Nicko seems fine to me, and hasn`t caused the meassge board any harm, yet some of the posts towards him, have been quite personal, obviously there are angry people ! but what I`m not understanding, is who is GM ? is it Mr Rupert, friend of the old England Rugby coach ? can someone put me out of my misery and PM me or something !
