If thats the case then Jack is still looking out for us from the great terrace in the sky.

For gods sake dont tell the Football Licensing People there is a terrace up there, will be shut down before you can say "Colin Moynihan is a numpty"

Im of the opinion a "bidding war" would be bad - surely paying more the club itself would result in less money for the "transfer pot"?

I don't think it is a bidding war - I believe there are now two interested parties talking figures.

However a lot more should emerge in the next couple of days.

I would think there will be some form of answer by the weekend.

Mind you, I was hoping that would be the case some time ago...

Have you found out who the other bidders are ? are they foreign investors ?

I did hear talk fairly recently of a bid having been made. Have the club denied that in the last fortnight or so?

In the latest LT story (about a week ago?) I think it stated that a bid was still several weeks away.

And whilst not exactly a public denial, you will recall that the Fans Forum was told on 13/08 there was "nothing to report". :)

"long-distance calls yesterday revealed that Blackburn are in talks with the unidentified second group"

I wouldnt have thought the "second bidder" needed long distance phone calls to be contacted, well at least not from Ewood anyway.

Now let me first say that I have absolutely no reason to believe this, but I'll say it anyways.

A year or so back there was a group of investors from Norway looking to buy Liverpool, but the didn't. Think they couldn't raise the funds. Think the group was fronted by an investor called Øystein Stray Spetalen and an hotel owner callet Petter Stordalen. Not sure of the details, my memory is a little fuzzy.

Not that i want them to be the second bidders, but with the Norwegian connection, MGP (now), Berg, Bjørnebye, Bohinen, Andresen et al (formerly), Rovers may be marketable in Norway.

As said, no reason to believe it but when we're speculatin anyway I thought I'd throw this group in the hat.

i'm still failing to see how any new investor is actually good news for Rovers.

Revenue wise, we're geared towards giving the vast majority of revenue we make from the premier league deals, ground etc back into the playing squad.

Someone new coming in, would surely be taking dividends out of the club, as no one buys a club to just throw money away.

it would be different if we were situated in a commercially under utilised area, with potential big fan base - but the fact is - we're in an economically depressed area & there isn't any significant corporate money that can be brought in...

I dont really think anything, but something I heard earlier in the week seems to point towards someone more, erm, local.

How about this for a suggestion.........................Management Buyout anyone?

I heard something along those lines, but havnt got any details - nor is it verifiable.
