Billy Castell Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 In short, an American based British business man Dan Williams had made a bid a while ago, and had been talking to John Williams. Talks had been ongoing for months, but had broken down for whatever reason a week or two ago. It is worth noting that Dan Williams is from the area and claims to be a fan. However he needed some American friends to help fund the bid as he wasn't as rich as Jack Walker. There is/was a second bid around transfer deadline day, but that has either gone quiet, or was a load of rubbish.

rovers_rob Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Meanwhile, suggestions that Dan Williams and his consortium has pulled out of making a bid to buy Rovers seem premature. The Telegraph understands that no decision has yet been made on whether a move is to be made or not. has DW got a plan B ?
nicko Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 has DW got a plan B ? I believe I said 'verge of collapse' on Sunday. I'll stick to that. Unfortunately. I hope he has found a way round his problems, although it would be equally good news if the 'second bidder' would come forward some time in this decade.
AggyBlue Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I believe I said 'verge of collapse' on Sunday. I'll stick to that. Unfortunately. If this is the case, when it does finally collapse, I would hope the club issues a statement. I don't think they realise some of us are losing sleep, going grey etc over this.

I'm looking forward to the Youtube video of you kicking his ginger arse Trust me, if Dan Williams is Michael Knighton is disguise I will give him the biggest kicking imaginable. From what I have found out in recent weeks that won't be the outcome. I'm amazed you have any credibility left on this forum...
EwoodGlory Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Go back and play on your own forum will you.
Paul Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I think one has to give GM his due, those are nicko's words, no one else's.
Guided Missile Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Go back and play on your own forum will you. I'm devastated, after the welcome you've given nicko on this site. Maybe you prefer his fantasy world...
USRoverME Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Nicko's supposed "fantasy world", which requires some form of "fact checking" however lax teh journo world might be about it these days, or a world filled with mindless, hate-filled expletives from (un)Guided Missle. tough call that......
Hughesy Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I wish the club, the trustees or that Dan williams fellow would give us some info about what has gone on - i often feel like the club doesnt publicise some important info to fans
EwoodGlory Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Maybe you prefer his fantasy world... And how would you know that it's fantasy? Just because of the windup on your forum doesn't mean the same thing is taking place with us. It would seem talks have taken place between the club and the Williams group, that was never the case with Southampton. Maybe the HMR was someone closer to home GM? There has been a lot of unrest with the suits at your place in recent years
EwoodGlory Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Suggestions that Dan Williams and his consortium has pulled out of making a bid to buy Blackburn Rovers seem premature. The Lancashire Telegraph understands that no decision has yet been made on whether a move is to be made or not. LET

Seems like he takes longer to make his mind up than my missus when she's after a new dress
fozzer Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Seems like he takes longer to make his mind up than my missus when she's after a new dress It's like real life football manager "Blackburn Rovers takeover on the Rocks!"
BlueMonday Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Not shooting the messenger here Nicko, but this 'on the verge of collapse' is a joke. The guy clearly hasn't got what it takes to take over the Rovers, be it; Time, money, or the ability to organise serious backing. It realy is time to move on. And even if there is a last minute turn around, I'd be even more sceptical about him taking over than I was originally.

It realy is time to move on. Well if someone is taking over I want it do be seriously thorough. No point in rushing the deal through. We don't know if he has the money or the ability, I will trust the club to learn this and make the right decision.
Guided Missile Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 And how would you know that it's fantasy? Just because of the windup on your forum doesn't mean the same thing is taking place with us. It would seem talks have taken place between the club and the Williams group, that was never the case with Southampton. The "windup" on our forum included an email from Daniel Williams to one of our posters, who shared it with me. Apparently, Daniel Williams thought he had talks with Southampton. He and others from our forum, had also received emails from HMR, from the same IP address as Princeton Global Housing. I have encouraged a very close friend of mine to pick up the mantle and move forwards with Southampton and to ‘inherit’ our offer to the club, and he seems very happy to do so. I have offered him the backing required, and he has a long affiliation with the club and will declare his intention publicly in the coming days. He will have full access to the plans etc. Still, keep taking the tablets and creaming your pants every time nicko posts. He must be having a real laugh at you lot...
EwoodGlory Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 from the same IP address as Princeton Global Housing As one of the posts said on your forum, it is easy to mask an IP address as someone elses, if you know what your doing. It is also easy to send an anonymous email from any email address you want to.

EwoodGlory Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 As I work in IT and Web Design, I know it is easy to mask an IP and it's very easy to find an anonymous email sender which allows you send out emails claiming to be from whatever address you want. Plenty out there.

It is also easy to send an anonymous email from any email address you want to. .....and finally, while I'm at it, these are the comments the Saints poster that received the email from Dan Williams, made to me: Do you want his mobile number? It is DEFINITELY him I spoke to - I am not **cking stupid, I have his US mobile, and his e-mail address at Princeton Global. His last e-mail to me is below ... I am not bothering to follow up on it because it's all a load of horses**t.

I agree with you that if he can't do it then he's history. Still it's nice to see Jilted John, the councillor from Southampton, back and flouncing around like a Lawrence Llwellyn-Bowen look-alike again.
