Actually i just read somewhere (could someone please confirm?) that bellamys agent is none other than the same guy who spirited ferguson back to rangers?

If so i would be banning that bloke from coming anywhere near ewood! He obviously sees us as his nice little earner spiriting players away from us, does make you wonder just how all and sundry got to hear about the release clause, i really dont think agents are low enough to drop a few sentences to some sports journos....... or are they....

I can't believe all the stick Bellers is getting here.

True, he lied in an interview, and he shouldn't have, but "all" footballers do that.

My guess is that the clause was needed for him to sign for us. I doubt MH would have allowed it if it wasn't, remember he knows Bellamy.

I don't blame Bellamy for leaving, even though I'm gutted. I had hoped he would stay, but he chose to play for his favorite club. Any one of us would have done the same if the chance came knocking.

This is the way football is, and there is very little we can do about it. The "Walker-era" is over, at least in the form of the mid 90's.

We have to put our trust in MH to replace Bellamy, and I think he will.

Ok how about

I'm not going to qoute that filth you wrote, but I will say this:

Grow up!

Ah thanks for that! No wonder the fans never create any new songs if they just get removed.

Anyway I think Bellamy did a big brown dump on us and he should of stayed for at least another year. He went against everything he said and if he had stayed at rovers who knows what would of happened. One things for sure – if he carried on playing well then Liverpool would still of been interested in 12 months and he could have got our club a much more sensible transfer amount.

But he was selfish and just thought about himself!

It probably wasnt swearing that it got removed for Hughesy, im guessing its the fact that the song that you wrote was about how you wished Bellamy would die. Its things like that that make me ashamed to be a member of this board because it lumps me in with people like you.

Oh come on - and why did we want him to stay at Rovers - for his good or ours ?

He isn't daft - he has probably around 4 years left at the top of his game - which could actually be a lot shorter if his injuries catch up with him. Whether we like it or not - he had the chance to go to a club he actually supports, that plays in Champs League and that has a reasonable chance of winning things. In reality Rovers tick none of these boxes.

With football nowadays you have to view it as a business - and ask yourself reasonably could we have expected him to stay. I think not.

As for the clause - he was protecting his ambitions - yes maybe he lied, but possibly in the same way Sutty did when he said he would stay with the club if relegated i.e. not thinking that it would ever be an issue (remember until Cisse broke his leg, Liverpool were looking for bigger fish to fry than Bellamy)

I want to say this – it's hard work coming here but it's going to be even harder to be a really big hit here – that's the way I'm looking at it. It's going to take a lot of hard work, a lot of focus, a lot of discipline – everything – to make it at a club like this. Because I want to be a hit. I don't want to just be remembered as a Liverpool player, I want to be remembered as a good Liverpool player. That's my motivation."

Blackburn Rovers?

I had a lot of friends at Blackburn - the players, the coaching staff, the chairman are all great people – and I owe them a lot – a hell of a lot to be honest. They helped me improve and they were there at an awkward time for me but I've spoken to a lot of the players and they know the situation. I've had no problem from any player at Blackburn and I'm sure if any of them got the chance to join the team they love with all their heart, they'd do exactly the same thing. It's sad in a way to leave Blackburn but this is too good a chance to turn down."

Really disappointed that he's gone as he was an excellent player.

Personally I think Rovers and Hughes have been unlucky. If Cisse hadn't got injured I doubt they'd have gone in for Bellamy, his cheapness seems to be a major factor in it, and none of the other CL teams would want/need him.

As for Bellamy's statements, I reckon that at the time he did envisage staying for longer. Equally I'd much prefer these statements than him touting himself to every club he possibly could.

On the club's part, I'm sure the clause was a massive part in getting him here, and as the clause ran out soon shows that it wasn't the player utterly dictating terms. Hughes offering him a new contract too, shows rovers did all they can to keep him, so the club can hardly be held responsible on this score.

The most negative thing from this is that we have lost our only top class striker. On the positive side, £6 million for someone of Hughes transfer savvy is a fair bit for him to play with (although nothing like what Bellamy is actually worth). Equally Hughes can go and get 2/3 strikers without having to plan their compatability with Bellamy, thus giving Hughes more flexibility in the transfer market. It also puts signings like Pongolle into perspective (i.e. not worth getting as he only looked ok with Bellamy). Finally it may also see Bentley move up into the hole as one of four strikers, which I think is his best position and imo would see rovers make the most use from him.

Yes i'd still prefer Bellamy to be with us and it's a massive blow. But it isn't a total disaster. Look at the performances that Hughes has got out of players of limited talent but right attitude such as Kuqi. Hughes may well nurture a couple of strikers from the mediocre to top class level again next season.

What is certain is now. is that we need a striker who is quite pacey as well as a midfielder with excellent attacking ability.

Petrov has excellent attacking ability, and is quite good in defence as well.

think the title of this thread should be ...little lying welsh faggot has moved to the hubstealing tosspots.

Abs, you're working amongst us "hubstealing tosspots" aren't you ?

Where abouts ? Or do I look for a Goonies Sloth lookalike wearing a rovers cap, doing guinness farts and scratching at his gennies after a rock concert dalliance ?

:blink::)
