Dan Furness Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 think the title of this thread should be ...little lying welsh faggot has moved to the hubstealing tosspots. Why is he a liar for christ sake? Deleted for bad language. Please read post pinned at top of m/b. but calling someone a faggot is allowed?
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 A strange silence from John Williams and the board over the events of the last few days,is this not now the time to be bullishly backing Mark Hughes with firm statements of intent etc and giving the fans some belief when many will be down? Where are you?.....................
John Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Because we are quietly going about our transfer business the way probably Hughes would like to. I have a strong feeling we are going to end this summer content with our transfer dealings.
American Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 haven´t read everything, but here is my opinion, if you care: For those who saz (say, darn German kezboards!!) he is the 3rd best striker in the prem, here is a list off the top of my head of strikers we´d be laughed at if we offered Bellamy straight up for: Drogba, Owen (before injury), Rooney, RVN, Saha, Henry, Crespo, Sheva (I know, he`s new, doesn´t count), Yakubu, van Persie. Plus there are a few he´s equal to. If we can get Mido and another new striker, I say this: Thanks for the work getting us to Europe and good luck in the future. I truly think that Mido will do as well of a job as Bellamy did.
ABBEY Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Why is he a liar for christ sake? Deleted for bad language. Please read post pinned at top of m/b. but calling someone a faggot is allowed? why??? its been read what lies hes said....hes not a rover now ..well faggot may be ovet the top but lest not forget hes no longer a rover .
roverroll Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 The fans are restless, and have every right to be so.. I would imagine the fans bought their season tickets very early on after the last game in may working on the theory that bells would have a new partner. Mark was going to take advice from bells on which available striker he would like to partner him come August. Although Mark was'nt to know that this tragedy would occur, and it is a tragedy john, then we should have had a tingency plan in prepaartion for the departure of bells would'nt you agree? After all bells was signed with the boards knowledge of the clause that could be activated by a bigger club. You must understand the fans anxiety now. Mark did such a good job in how he handled him to make him 'attractive' to the bigger club - thanks Mark! We do of course have faith in mark to bring us that 'special someone'.
stuwilky Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 A strange silence from John Williams and the board over the events of the last few days,is this not now the time to be bullishly backing Mark Hughes with firm statements of intent etc and giving the fans some belief when many will be down? Where are you?..................... Exactly. What we should be doing is issueing public statements about how much money we are going to be spending to buy us x number of players. And by doing so increase the wage demands of the players we want/already have, increase the asking price for the players we want to buy..... Yes. Lets do just that.
Dan Furness Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 why??? its been read what lies hes said....hes not a rover now ..well faggot may be ovet the top but lest not forget hes no longer a rover . Come on Abbey. Would you rather he came out and told everyone publicly he HAD a clause, then you'd all be saying he was looking for a move. The lad never looked to move, end of. Let him be
ABBEY Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 dan ..id rather him not say things like he has no clause or that he would stay longer than a year..oops not even that long. i hope hes happy not playing every week ah well i predict the headline "bells in cells after fight in liverpool nightclub"
AlanK Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Is it just me or did Bellers never really feel like one of us anyway. He always seemed to be injured and it just felt like he was passing through on his way to other things. As much as I enjoyed his goals, and some were spectacular, it always felt like he was stranger who shouldn`t be here at Ewood.

He always seemed to be injured and it just felt like he was passing through on his way to other things. As much as I enjoyed his goals, and some were spectacular, it always felt like he was stranger who shouldn`t be here at Ewood. I know what you mean. I can still remember when he scored his first league goal and a strange feeling that this new player (though it took a few months) was still not really here.
AlanK Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 As for him denying a clause and stating his happiness at Ewood etc.... He is a professional, its his job, his profession to say those things. Thats what he does. He was hardly going to come out and slate the club, shout about a clause and demand a move. He was professional, upheld his dignity and never said a bad word about us. fair play. However, I hope his Anfield career is nowhere near as succesful as his time at our gaff but to suggest he gets badly injured and never kicks a bal again is immature, pathetic and sad. The king is gone, long live the king....over to you sparky
greggyk Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Is it just me or did Bellers never really feel like one of us anyway. He always seemed to be injured and it just felt like he was passing through on his way to other things. As much as I enjoyed his goals, and some were spectacular, it always felt like he was stranger who shouldn`t be here at Ewood. I felt the same for Duff in his last season with us. So may rumours and you knew he'd be off soon. Could never enjoy him properly which was a shame
rover6 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 He is a professional, its his job, his profession to say those things. Thats what he does. He was hardly going to come out and slate the club, shout about a clause and demand a move. Sorry but that's nonsense. I believe you have been seduced by Bellamy's sweet talk (which he's very good at - in fact he you judged his personality on his interviews, you would think him a sensible and down-to-earth Ryan Nelsen type). He lied about the clause. He said (perhaps contradicting earlier comments) that he was joining Rovers for the long haul - an impossibility when you have such a 'low' release clause in your contract. I believe Bellamy did enjoy his stint at Rovers and many of his parting words are sincere. However, to suggest that his lying to the fans was acceptable - even professional is just ridiculous. You don't have to comment on your contract. Bellamy wouldn't give any clues to what wage he was on at Blackburn - so why does he need to affirm or dismiss the existence of a release clause.
joey_big_nose Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Of course they are speculations...Rev says "In my view we very possibly" and "maybe"... Another speculation is one of your own that the only way Bellamy would have signed is if we gave him the clause. We won't know if Bellamy would have relented if we'd played hardball. We don't know that and frankly neither does the club, only Bellamy and his agent do and even then they may have folded or amended the clause. We don't know however as it's all speculation just like 95% of the other stuff on this board. Although I don't agree with Rev saying that "In the event it was a "gamble" which went spectacularly wrong" because whatever else happened we are in a better position now with a Uefa Cup campaign to look forward to than we were before Bellamy signed when we worried about relegation dogfights. Personally I think the club could have tried to engineer it but I suspect that would have let other clubs in and we could well have missed out, they were in a difficult situation. Capt K is right about it being a worrying precedent and other players may try to chance their arm and blatantly use us as a stepping stone. I absolutely agree with that, but I would point out that the difference between my position and Rev's is that I am not trying to either praise or criticisze the club on the basis of speculation. Rev is and that annoys me!

Out of interest Mr Rover6. Had Bellamy admitted that clause would you have been amongst the first to say "He's putting himself in the shop window"? Are you unable to see that by printing such rubbish the LET (yet again) has contributed to ill feeling towards BRFC in the town of Blackburn. Why the club bother with that poor excuse for a newspaper I will never ever know.
mjs Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Anybody else bored with all this clause and lies crap? It's history, and after all none of us have ever lied have we?
RevidgeBlue Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Out of interest Mr Rover6. The LET's coverage of the Bellamy situation over the last 10-14 days has been laughable. Whilst Andy Neild mused over who we were going to sign to play alongside CB next season, we had to rely on the National broadsheets to keep us informed as to what was really going on with Bellamy's impending exit - which they did with great clarity and detail. However you can't blame the LET for what Bellamy said in February - the "is there isn't there a clause" debate has been at the forefront of everyone's mind all season. And they presumably weren't to know that Bellamy was basically going to lie through his teeth. The only circumstances in which the article shouldn't have been printed were if the LET knew what Bellamy was saying was incorrect. From Bellamy's point of view I still don't think admitting there was a clause was a viable option. Although perhaps the best possible answer would have been. "Yes there is a clause, because obviously I want to ply my trade at the highest possible level. (Champions League) Rovers fans can rest assured though that we are doing everything possible this season to ensure that I will achieve my ambition at this club next season!." Hmmm............not bad. Max Clifford eat your heart out!.
Eddie Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Or, as has been said time and time again he simply didn't have to confirm or deny it: "That's really not an issue I'm entirely focused on the task at hand here at Rovers and I'm not thinking about moving anywhere else, I'm very happy here". I wouldn't care had he been looking elsewhere or had he not been happy, but to lie about something that is legally recorded is quite simply retarded.

yorkblues Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 hes gone now lets carry on .mark will find a new man come on you blues
AxesFirstTouch Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Mido is the man to replace Bellamy, and at the 2million price being quoted ( in the mirror ) its a bargain. Spurs were being told he'd cost 6 million earlier in the season when he was on fire for them. Roberts is a poor player, whos had a HALF decent season, I dont think people are rembering the seasons hes had in the past, hes been a relegation fodder forward, hes no where good enough for a top six team
Paul Mellelieu Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I think Hughes' silence (and Williams') speaks volumes about what he thinks of Bellamy's jumping ship. He must be absolutely gutted - feeling personally let down by a player who he's helped to the best form of his life. Then again maybe he's too busy chasing a replacement.
