John Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Doubt it - Bellamy has real world class quality. We don't.
thenodrog Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Bellamy's got quality but "WORLD" class ffs? He's miles off being world class.
Rovermatt Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 did anyone else hear about a possible fall out with Bellamy and Benitez on MOTD ? Not even on the bench for todays game MOTD's reporter asked Rafa what the absence was all about: "Eh, no eets jast that we 'ave alotta shtrikehs." So there you go...
G Somerset Rover Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 MOTD's reporter asked Rafa what the absence was all about: "Eh, no eets jast that we 'ave alotta shtrikehs." So there you go... Glad you cleared that one up for us bud! Benitez while a world class manager strikes me as a bit too smug sometimes. The charity shield for example-he drops half his team and in his mind he's in a win/win situation. If they win the game he's had a master-stroke, they lose and it was because he rested his team. I for one wouldn't like to play for him-while competition for places is good, if I was in the prime of my career I'd be wanting to play every week. And unless your Steven Gerrard or Jamie Carragher then he'll never let you do that.
S15 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Bellamy's got quality but "WORLD" class ffs? He's miles off being world class. Oh come on!! Bellamy is a world class player, he has every attribute a world class player needs and he proved at Rovers last season he has combined them to the extent where one of the worlds biggest clubs wanted to sign him. Which obviously they did in the end.
92er Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 The Sunday Telegraph suggested Benitez is in danger of becoming the Tinker Man, like Ranieri.
ad0102 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 After yesterday respective performances, maybe Liverpool bought the wrong rovers player. They have more need for friedel than bellamy. Never been convinced with Reina, although he is still quite young. Looks are deceptive. I wonder if Bellamy was quietly quite pleased with the result yesteday. I am a believer in having 4 quality strikers, but you need a preferred pair that plays most games. Best example was Man Utd in 1999, Yorke and Cole first choice and played vast majority of games with Sheringham and Ole Gunnar on the bench. Bellamy has to play before Fowler surely.
grizfoot Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Bellamy is by far and away the best striker l'pool have and was suprised he wasn't even on the bench.

The need to keep hold of Brad is becoming more apparent. Thank God Utd went for Van Der Saar instead of the big man.
daren Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Brad's been a top keeper since the day he moved to Rovers! His form dips occasionally, but its VERY occasional. I've been surprised that a bigger club, especially ManU with all their keeper woes, haven't made serious bids for him. It's also great experience for Brown to be working with him, and picking up all the tips and tricks. Reina looks a good keeper from what I've seen. Still inexperienced, but not badly error prone like some allegedly premiership-standard keepers. He's a decent shot-stopper too. He's very young too, so he'll learn.

daren Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Heh Good point. Bellamy, the tempremental SOB, is a fantastic striker, who can work hard, cross very, very well, and has an amazing eye for goal. He does like to wander around the top half of the pitch though, and I do wonder if that fits with Liverpools playing style. Besides, if he plays well, he'll steal some of Gerrard's glory! We miss you Craig.... come back (preferably for the same you left for!) Better?
3recurring Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Old habits die hard... Bellamy in tunnel flare-up
Hughesy Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I dont think Crouch (Englands top goalscorer) will be happy for too much longer if he is kept on the bench. Liverpool fans are already getting on the back of Bellamy for missing chances!
gumboots Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Wouldn't have expected to see him miss that one on one with the keeper he missed last night. Shows Benitez is wrong to keep rotating his strikers. They need to play week in week out except for injuries so they get used to playing together etc. Bellamy's generally happier and calmer when he's playing regularly - gets rid of his agression by scoring goals and keeps him away from potential trouble spots. Not that I really care how badly he plays for Liverpool - I'd be glad in one way if he never scored for them but it is frustrating to see him not even on the bench and think that if he'd been here he'd have been one of the first names on the teamsheet if fit.

Liverpool fans are already getting on the back of Bellamy for missing chances! kuyt is outshining both crouch and bellamy at the moment. i watched the game last night (via a setanta feed  ) and the liverpool fans were starting to moan at bellamy. he seemed to me to be trying too hard. word of advice to any rovers fans who are going to the anfield game. DO NOT BOO HIM, GIVE HIM A STANDING OVATION AND SING HIS NAME. this will increase out chances (however remote) of getting him back, should he 'fail' at liverpool.

FourLaneBlue Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Mac blasts 'little upstart Bellamy' McDermott said: 'I was talking to the referee. It had nothing to do with anyone else and I take exception to little upstarts like him. 'I do not like it when people like to think they are bigger than clubs. 'When he was at Newcastle, he thought he was a big cheese. Everywhere he has been, he has been in bother - and it is all starting again at Liverpool. 'There was no need for it at all and he was 100 per cent out of order.'
philipl Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 All going steadily sour for Bellamy at Liverpool. Any bets on him being back at Ewood next season?
bellamy11 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 All going steadily sour for Bellamy at Liverpool. Any bets on him being back at Ewood next season? No. Do you think he will be?
92er Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 No. Do you think he will be? Perhaps we are the only club where he has not had on the field problems. If we could get him back at a reasonable fee, then that would be great.
AggyBlue Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Perhaps we are the only club where he has not had on the field problems. If we could get him back at a reasonable fee, then that would be great. Give our strikers a chance, Benni and Shabba look like they could be a real partnership. Come the end of the season we might not need nor want Bellamy back.
des Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 from a footballing point of veiw he should of stayed at rovers, he was happy here, both on and off the pitch. Will he come back. its down to how much do liverpool want him, and and much do there want for him
AxesFirstTouch Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 The way Rafa rotates his squads, can anyone even see Bellers getting over 10 goals in the premiership this season? With the Liverpool fans getting on his back, hes not the type of player to take kindly to abuse from his own fans I guess. Can see him ending up back at Newcastle next season.
