No way are we going to exchange Pedersen for Bellamy. Pedersen may have blow hot and cold this season, but he's easily the top 3 left-sided midfielders in England.

is he? I bet you wouldnt have said that at christmas though would you!!

If, and its a big if, bellamy is available in the summer, and providing rovers can get the money to pay for him, then there is every reason that he would choose us over Villa etc.

everyone knows what his relationship is like with the coaching staff here, and the respect which he has for them. Add that to the fact that he played the best football of his career here, albeit for one season, and he knows that the team will be built around him and Benni, then i would have though we would be his first choice.

As for those saying you dont want him back because he doesnt care about rovers or whatever...no player at this club, minus probably Freidel and Tugay, really care about this club, the others are more interested in the paychecks and their reputations.

If Pedersen was offered the chance to play for UTD he would be off like a shot, and anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves!

Personally i couldnt care less if Bellamy cares about Rovers or not. He is the only world class player that we could have any chance of attracting this summer.

Sell MGP and we lose all our balance. Bentley is so right footed that I cannot see him playing well on the left. Dunn could do a job there, but I don't think he could play there regularly - he just isn't a winger.

WHile it is a waste to put Bentley on the left as he is so outstanding on the right youre very wrong about him being one footed. He can dribble almost as well with his left as his right, and can cross well if not brilliantly with it.

Against Spurs away last season he played on the left and was excellent.

My point essentially is that Bellamy adds more to the team than MGP could ever do, despite being a good player in his own right.

Well there's more chance of him staying at Rovers than Bellamy. I think that has been proved!

If MGP went, who would fill the void? We would have to splash the cash to get someone decent (and please dont say Sergio Peter).

As for MGP being a true Rover, yes he's not from Blackburn but you cant disagree that he has affection for the club and our fans. You would miss him if he went!

Of course I'd miss him and I'm sure he does have a certain affection for our club. But the only reason he, or most of our other players for that matter, doesn't play for one of the big 4 is because they have never tried to sign him! It's a simple fact of life I'm afraid that all smaller clubs have to deal with.....

Anyway, hopefully we won't have to choose between the two and we can see Bellamy lining up alongside MGP next season!

Now that would be great. MGP and Bellamy worked brilliantly together (remember Arsenal at home). However, I think all of this is a little bit premature. Saying that, who knows that Hughes has up his sleeve this summer. As we all know there's always one big transfer coup.

If Pedersen were to be involved as part of a swap deal for Bellamy, I would be happy with that.

If Liverpool were prepared to say pay £3million plus Bellamy, then I think we would still be a better team than this season even without signing a replacement for Pedersen straight away. Put it this way, if we had the original £8m to finance the Bellamy deal in the first place, then that would give us a healthy kitty of at least £11m - which we can use to strengthen the squad as a whole.

Pedersen, whilst on his day can be excellent, does not maintain enough consistency for my liking.

And for what it's worth, Voronin is a brilliant player and I think he'll do well at Liverpool. In my opinion he ran the show in the first half against us at Ewood.

Can't see it happening. Hughes is too astute for that. Wouldn't trust Bellers not to bu... leave the same way again if it suited him and we'd be in the brown stuff again <_<

If he comes here, has another great season then buggers off for a better price than what we paid for him, I'd have him back in an instant.

How exactly did he leave us in the brown stuff? Without him we wouldn't have had European football this season, nor would we have had £6 million to spend.

Whilst we were going to Krakow, Bellamy was scoring in the Nou Camp. Do you blame him for his decision?

Don't blame Bellers in the least, being a Liverpool supporter he took them at face value.

It's pretty obvious to me though. Don't think Benitez really wanted him in the first place, he just didn't want us to have him and couldn't resist the bargain. If the rumours are true, he's at it again. Don't believe for one minute he wants Morten at all, just doesn't want us to have him. Tried to shaft us with the Lucas/Warnock deal too <_< .

If he has the 8 million clause they are mentioning, and we are being rumored to pay that much for Bellamy, I see it as a win-win (if Liverpool was going to test the clause).

If Liverpool were willing to do that then great. But they would have to be pretty mad. To be honest I am not sure Pedersen is actually any better than the left wingers they have already got: Zenden, Kewell, Gonzalez and Riise...

Well Kewell appears to be out of the picture and they can play Riise at left back, so really is only competition would be Zenden (who isn't getting any younger) and Gonzalez (who I don't think has done as well as some people expected him to do). I agree that it isn't a position they really need to go out and buy and they could probably do MGP, but with the money they might have this summer they are going to be linked with just about every player.

Pedersen is still young so you can only expect inconsistent performances. He is a class player and would be very hard to replace.

Key to all this is, will Liverpool actually sell Bellamy? Benitez obviously rates him highly enough to start him tonight in the Champions League Semi-Final. There is no way that Leverkusen player will be brought in to replace Bellamy, more likely to replace Fowler.

He is 25, Youngish but he should be alot more consistent than he is. I'm not sure he is good enough for liverpool at this stage, given a couple more seasons development then maybe.

I'm not to sure how many of liverpools current crop of strikers will be left standing this time next season. With the influx of american money they are looking to spend big on a couple of top strikers. They may wish to hold on to Bellamy but will he want to sit on the bench? If they do want to keep hold of him then it's strange how the rumours have been going since January, be they from the agent or the club.
