Scotty Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Seeing as the PFA had their shindig last night, I think it's about time we picked ours. For me, it's a choice between the following: Bentley Emerton Friedel McCarthy Tugay You could argue about including Warnock and Samba but, as they've only been here half a season, I'm discounting them. My choice? Bentley - he's been outstanding and should only get better. Let's hope we can keep hold of him this summer.

Manchester Blue Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Big Benni Mac no doubt whatsoever. 21 goals says it all.
tcj_jones Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Definately Bentley. In order: Bentley, McCarthy, Friedel
SuperStella Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 1.) Bentley 2.) Emerton 3.) McCarthy Young Player: Matt Derbyshire Best Newcomer: Chris Samba
Jan Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 McCarthy Bentley Friedel First player to 20 goals since Chris Sutton. Says it all really.
American Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I'd have to make the biased pick of Brad. He's kept us in a lot of matches and has showed the form he had several seasons back.
Rovermatt Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Bentley has been brilliant this season. He gets my vote.
sussexrover Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 1) Bentley 2) McCarthy 3) Friedel Young player: Derbyshire Newcomer: Warnock

darren_rover Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 1) Bentley... Thuroughly deserves the England call up and has been outstanding 2) McCarthy... Simply because of his 21 goals this season 3)Lucas Neill...We all know the circumstances which he left, but at the beginning of the season i think he was an outstanding player, and was our best defender in times when Nelsen was out Friedel has had another great season yet again and im sure we will all be sorry to see him retire...when he does Tugay.... speaks for himself... absolute football genious and if he was 10 years younger im sure would be one of the best in the world Darbyshire...great new youngster... hopefully things can only get better Warnock/Samba... Both players show the great transfer skills of Hughsey and have both been outstanding since January
OscarRaven Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 3)Lucas Neill...We all know the circumstances which he left, but at the beginning of the season i think he was an outstanding player, and was our best defender in times when Nelsen was out Are you an idiot? You want as a player of the season contender a guy who wouldn't be able to get on the bench now even if he didnt play for another team? Over Tugay, Brad, Emerton (who incidently pushed him out of RB) or Derbyshire? You been drinking that yellow water in Burnley or what?
James No. 7 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 McCarthy Bentley Friedel First player to 20 goals since Chris Sutton. Says it all really. And to think some want to see the back of him, or failing that wouldn't mind seeing the back of him. McCarthy for me. Twenty plus goals a season players are a rarity and we should savour the time we have a player like him at the club.
pksrover Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Bentley will be my pick I think, followed close by Friedel and McCarthy (as many here have pointed out, 21 goals is outstanding!)

You can not honestly say, that if all of the rubbish that went on with Neill didn't happen that he would not still be in out team... and be the second choice captin (behind the Admiral). Incedently, Emerton did not push Lucas out of the squad... Emerton had to fill in the right back position when Lucas moved to left back If Neill was still at the club and we also had Warnock... for me Emerton would be out
Scotty Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 I've tried to add a poll - I've no idea how successful I've been!! Wahey!!
