RevidgeBlue Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Gamst is unique and at his best one of the world's greatest wingers. I think she means that in addition to having great respect for his ability as a footballer she fancies him!
ally Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Adriano to West Ham!!! and another story which made me laugh Bellamy wants to finish his playing days at West Ham!! where will he be playing next season????
daren Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 If Fulham were looking to pay £4m for Roberts and Adriano is available on loan to "get back his fitness" then there's a swap I'd be happy with! Wouldn't mind Huddlestone either, a season or two working with Tugay and we'd have a decent replacement.
pick32 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 roberts out get this transfer kitty and bring adriano and huddlestone in watch out top 4 here we come.
herbergeehh Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Adriano fits the bill for West Ham, huge wages and a messy personality. Bring on the dressing room war.
philipl Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Quick scan of the press coverage reveals Hughes has said Tugay is staying at Ewood and "desperate to do the deal" Fulham have bid £4m for Jason Roberts. Roy Keane meanwhilst has bid £2.5m for Stoke's Higginbotham. Seems Keane is only interested in players he played alongside or whom Sunderland faced in the Coca Cola last season. Boro are signing Egyptian forward Shawkey (visions of BBE doing the Pyramid Dance when Boro come to Ewood), Harry has said he is willing to sell Nugent, BFS buying Faye and at least one other and Real Madrid letting four youngsters go out on loan. Despite all the money sloshed around, there are quite a few clubs looking to fill holes as opposed to opportunistically strengthening. Some are injury related- West Ham, Man U, Fulham- but others look to have spent a lot and bought bad. There has been quite a body of Rovers' supporters opinion that we are over-loaded with strikers and under-strength in central midfield. Is Roberts out/Huddlestone in what they want?
Ozz Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Boro are signing Egyptian forward Shawkey (visions of BBE doing the Pyramid Dance when Boro come to Ewood), I think you mean The Sand Dance Philip, but I agree it would certainly out-do the Drummers if the BBE could muster up this kind of performance...
Eddie Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 If we sold Roberts I would want another striker in.
Cocker Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 If we sold Roberts I would want another striker in. Nugent?
Fife Rover Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Adriano rejects Hammers Don't you just love Curbishley's reply to the press speculation? I can't imagine a situation where MH would not know whether or not his club was attempting to sign a player! Bodes well for West Ham!
Fife Rover Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I think you mean The Sand Dance Philip, but I agree it would certainly out-do the Drummers if the BBE could muster up this kind of performance... You've got a wicked sense of humour Ozzie! (same as me). I can just imagine the entire BBE doing that!
Esulx Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I think £4m for Roberts would be a good return but given a decent run in the team, he could prove his worth... in all seriousness though, how much of a run is he going to get as McCarthy and Santa Cruz are both ahead of him... maybe even Derbs too. Not sure Rigters is ready yet for the Premiership. I think he'll be one for next season. Hey, we're not paid to make these decisions, Sparky is so I've got trust in him that he'll do what is right for Blackburn Rovers and if it's to sell Roberts, it'll happen. If it's not, then he'll stay.
philipl Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I think you mean The Sand Dance Philip, but I agree it would certainly out-do the Drummers if the BBE could muster up this kind of performance...Wilson Keppel and Betty Thanks Ozzie- that is exactly what I had in mind.
joey_big_nose Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 There has been quite a body of Rovers' supporters opinion that we are over-loaded with strikers and under-strength in central midfield. Is Roberts out/Huddlestone in what they want? I suppose it depends on three factors really: 1) Is Hughes convinced that Benni McCarthy is going to perform this season? Or does he need options if he does not? 2) Is Rigters ready to take a place on the bench? 3) Do Sparky and Eddie think that Huddlestone (presuming that Spurs want to sell for a sensible amount of money, which has to be doubtful)can mature into a top performer who can realistically take the Tugay role? The crucial one really is how Rigters is getting on. If he is showing real quality then we can sell Roberts and have four good options. No real pressure though to be honest.
Mozzer Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 if the huddlestone move is true, i think it would be a brilliant signing, imo, he would be the guy to replace tugay(if he came in), hes only young, has a great pass, and tugay could take him under his wing.. i dont see why spurs would sell him tho, with their policy of buying young english talent..
Oakland Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 This is getting ridiculous Earnshaw tipped for shock Valley move
Cocker Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 This is getting ridiculous Earnshaw tipped for shock Valley move What must a player think though that has only been at a club for a couple of months and then they dont want him. In Earnshaws case I have never liked him - very good for the lower leagues but not prem quality. Nugent is a shame though. Gone from being picked for England to 2nd fidle at Pompy to Relegated with Derby. Who remembers Michael Rickets.
brfc fan Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Harry ready to sell Nugent What did I say? I thought he'd do this. Pompey are a sh1t club and I'm glad he doesn't like it there and wants to leave because I would...in fact I wouldn't have gone in the first place! I'd rather be relegated with Derby than play in a Pompey shirt!
LeChuck Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Don't play dumb Aggy. He used to be in Coronation Street, then had a brief and unsuccessful singing career. Had a cracking six pack on him. I think he was possibly in the running to play left back for England when Chris Powell was there.
herbergeehh Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Talk about ridiculous, West Ham are being linked to Roma's Mancini and Inter Milan's Adriano. Wasn't aware that Kieron Dyer broke his leg recently, but it's certainly a new chapter in the Haha-Your-Club-Are-Bound-To-Fail book about West Ham. 80k a week, was it? The problem is, they are now capable of bringing really good players to their team, as long as the players' first motive is money - I believe both Mancini and Adriano are possibilities in that department. I think Mancini is a magnificent footballer, but I don't think he'll be a great success in the Premiership in the first place - his alleged (!) personality doesn't match, and considering he's a dribler who's bound to be hacked down aswell....... In a club like West Ham, who will really struggle in the future if they can't trick themselves into the top four in spectacular manner, these players won't excell, they will most likely struggle like Mascherano, or at best be a good player in a sh|t team like Yakubu. I don't usually like to see players get injured, but I have got to say; if West Ham get their big signings injured it is a blessing, not a curse.
