  1. 1. Have your say on the summer transfer window.

    • Should have had more cash to spend. Almost everyone else did.

I will be most surprised if McCarthy does leave. I didn't read much into the fact that he wasn't on the bench last night, just that he was being rested for the big game on Sunday. If he were to leave, then the reason his omission would be obvious.

I'm not sure how to react to the rumours about Defoe. On the one hand I'm happy, because he is a quality striker. This would also mean that one of our strikers would leave and in my opinion that would be Roberts. But Defoe's presence would then push Matty Derbyshire and Maceo Ritgers down the pecking order and stunt their development. As some of you have said, it could also signal the departure of McCarthy, which I would not want. Defore would want to be playing all the time, because he has just been sitting on the bench at Spurs, so he wouldn't want to come here and do the same.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it on any other thread, but Paul Gallagher has left on loan for Preston according to the BBC teletext page. I think that this is a good move for him. He will be playing regularly and at a level where he will score goals consistently. Hughes obviously doesn't want to sell him and even though he doesn't seem him being a first team regular, he is a good backup player.

Gally's gone on loan to PNE!

I went to the Preston game with a nob-ender mate. After the game I told him they should go for Gally on loan. A case of life imitating post-match cobblers?

Preston need a striker (the only club of the 92 not to score so far) and Gally needs games. I think it's a good deal for the player and both clubs.
