mike at picture Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Lee Hughes to Oldham Looks like Lee Hughes is joining Oldham after 3 years "on the riggs". Think it's a disgrace he's being let out after only 3 years despite killing 2 and paralysing another. I'd be deeply disturbed about this if I supported Oldham. An unbelievable decision on their part and a bleak day for football if true.

den Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Bellamy on Rovers wanted list. "Hughes has already presented the board with a list of potential targets from both Britain and abroad, and I can confirm that Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy is definitely on it."
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 According to todays Grauniad Liverpool are looking to sign Lyon left mid fielder Florent Malouda for £8million, I can't see them signing Malouda and Pedersen. From what I saw of Malouda in the World Cup he's another Liverpool mistake in the making.

They already have 96 central midfeilders so a a couple on the left shouldnt be a problem
SuperStella Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 They are also after David Silva, the left winger from Valencia..... Good news for us!

"Hughes has already presented the board with a list of potential targets from both Britain and abroad, and I can confirm that Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy is definitely on it." Some concrete and trustworthy news there, sounds good. It says in the article that we are looking for a proven goalscorer, I just hope it ain't to replace McCarthy and that none of the names starts with an N and ends with onda... On a second note, Williams: I've told Mark we don't have to sell anyone this summer and we are determined to hold onto the players we already have I really hope this mean we are going to play real "hard-ball" with anyone trying to get any of our better players.

From what I saw of Malouda in the World Cup he's another Liverpool mistake in the making. Are you kidding? The guy is friggin' awesome I just can't see Liverpool signing Pedersen, the big complaint from Benitez is how Man Utd are spending big money on the likes of Hargreaves and Carrick and he is left signing 8 million pound strikers Pedersen is at best an above average player, certainly beneficial to the likes of us but if Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal aren't interested why Liverpool would spend the money on a player they would be competing with Spurs for certainly doesn't close the 27(?) point gap for the title Liverpool need to sign a Kaka, Pirlo or Ronaldinho
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I've not seen anything of Malumba since the World Cup but I though France carried him then, Ribery would be a totally different proposition. If Malumba does come over we'll see if I'm right or not, Anfield's been a bit of a graveyard for left wingers lately.

I ahve no idea who Malumba is but I speculate that you are actually talking about Malouda. To add he just won Ligue 1 player of the year

It's Malouda they're apparently interested in signing, and not Malumba whoever that might be IIRC Malouda was one of the three, or perhaps four, candidates in the running for player of the year in France, alongside among others Johan Elmander (Who, by the way, is a player I'd have liked us to sign before he went to Toulouse) ETA: Damnit neekoy, don't post while I'm writing a post of my own And don't know more about French POTY awards than I do please, makes me look bad.

HA HA , sorry champion I wanted Elmander back when he was available as well, buggered why Sparky doesn't read the transfer thread more often

Sorry, I've been reading The Grauniad that long that I've caught the disease. I still don't rate him whatever he's called.
Bazzanotsogreat Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Malouda is a good player, quick athletic, decent crosser and gets his fair share of goals/assists the only criticism id make of him during the times ive seen him play is that he sometimes struggles to beat a good fullback with skill. BTW if he goes he will go for more that 8 mill (unless he has a min fee in his contract) look at the sales of Essien, Diarra etc, Aulas usually plays hard ball of over outgoing player fees. Whilst were on the subject of Lyon players does anyone know how Kallstrom has been doing always liked him good on the ball, good technique etc & thought rovers should have been sniffing round him when he was at Djurgaraden then Rennes
Manchester Blue Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Giovanni Dos Santos DO actually exist compard to that wind up the other day. would have been cool if Rovers had managed to get hold such a talent, but I won't belive it before I read the news on the official website..which, most likely, means never EDIT: Just watched the videos of Givoanni Dos Santos now, and he's a very selfish player. Especially in that video when he played with the Barcelona first team against Tigres he tried to do too much on his own instead of playing a quick and easy pass. Was just clips of what he did though, not fair to judge him on that basis really... Giovanni was profiled in 442 the other year and people at Barca were rating him as better than Ronaldinho at the same age. He's of Brazilian origin but was brought up and possibly born in Mexico as his Dad managed a team out there. I'd be astonished if we were getting him even on loan to be honest.

Like i said i still don't know if my brothers winding me up or not??
LA Rover Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 My brothers been telling me all week but i still don't belive him, i can't find any link on the net or anything but i've heard we're signing Giovanni Dos Santos form Barcalona. Trust me, he's winding you up. Dos Santos and Bojan Krkic are the two future stars at Barca from their youth setup. While it's conceivable that one of the big clubs could try to poach him, we don't have a shot. I wish...
herbergeehh Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Indeed. I do believe Portsmouth were linked with Dos Santos earlier though, for some reason.
RevidgeBlue Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Bellamy on Rovers wanted list. "Hughes has already presented the board with a list of potential targets from both Britain and abroad, and I can confirm that Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy is definitely on it." Now "between our selves and our scouting network that's what we'll be looking at over the summer" Doesn't sound like we have any serious interest in Bellamy then.
LeChuck Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Loved this post from the comments section in that link: "they would be two good signings and another would be phil jagielka and harry kewell and keigan parker from blackpool good players and send jason roberts to sevilla in a swap deal with freddie kanoute and get tiny taylor back from birmingham great season with them this season and leighton baines from wigan". Aren't we glad this board keeps people like that away.

modes98 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 phil jagielka - Decent signing harry kewell - Too sporadic and injury prone keigan parker - Who? Too big a risk. jason roberts to sevilla in a swap deal with freddie kanoute - ha ha ha ha ha tiny taylor back from birmingham great season with them this season - Says it all Championship player and always will be leighton baines - Yes please but we have stevie warnock now
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Rovers would be priced out at £8 million for Bellamy? ......but then John Williams talks about the emphasis being on the people of Blackburn getting behind the club McCarthy and Bellamy really would propel us onto greater things both on and off the field,a mouth watering prospect indeed .......surely worth opening the purse strings for!
John Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Hughes cannot continously keep buying gems for pittance in the transfer market (in my view). I am not saying spend cash for the sake of it, but it is likely Hughes can bring in real quality up-front in Bellamy this summer should we pay the required money. We probably only need 2-3 quality signings to make us significantly stronger. Other clubs movement in the transfer market tonight, West Ham make £8.5 million bid for Scott Parker (official). Newcastle strongly linked (in local press) with Ben Haim, Barton and Leighton Baines
USRoverME Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 SG194, you get wound up too easily, its bad for your blood pressure! This is all early posturing, really. "Liverpool state 12 million, but its really 8 million. Blackburn "offer" 6 million, but 8 million "is way too high". Its all negotiations and tactics. If the club starts saying that 8 million is fine, the number will inevitably climb close to 12 before its all done. We play coy and get good deals and how many bad buys have we made in the last 2 seasons? If only were as easy to not worry about it all and just look at the papers at the start of next season... it'd do a world of good.
