JamieUK Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Your definitley right there, i can't remember what the machines or something like that is called, it measures how much distance a player has covered and Morten is the highest ranked Rovers player. Prozone

modes98 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 According to Norwegian tele-text Kristofer Hæstad is on Mark Hughes' summer transfer list. He has always looked a decent palyer from clips i've seen and he is highly rated. I don't think his spell at wigan will be the end of him in england. i think he is easy to replace Well we all said it would be impossible to replace Duff and we did, it took a season but we did. If we give peter a season to get more games in and develop then he'll be as ready as we can.
herbergeehh Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Can an admin please add "big 5" to the list of no-no words? Auto-change to "Big four and Spurs" would be brilliant. Ta!

He's been been setting our Tippeliga (Premiership) alight lately. He isn't going to be very expensive, and I don't know how close MGP and him are, though I think they regard themselves as friends. Maybe it'll stop MGP from wanting to go this year at least?
Eddie Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Prozone I think he's talking about the vo2 levels or whatever? Every player we have now can be replaced, whether or not we would be able to do it this summer is the big problem. There's not much point building a team and then losing it every couple of years and having to start again. In order to progress we will need to keep a relatively stable side for 4 or 5 years and hope to achieve something that allows us to instantly bring in similar replacements should one of them go.

Maybe it'll stop MGP from wanting to go this year at least? and who is Hæstad's agent...? oh yes of course, its Rune Hauge! ffs, that man is just like Souness! loves telling everyone about whats gonna happen in the transfer window -I've spoken to Blackburn recently and know that Kristofer Hæstad is a topic over there. I won't be surprised if Rovers makes an offer for him when the transfer window opens 1st of July, says Rune Hauge to fvn.no (local newspaper where Hæstad plays)
doctorryan Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Is it that we're one of only seven clubs who have won all three domestic trophies? How's about one of the seven clubs to have represented England in the Champions League? One of the seven clubs to have qualified for Europe next season, - plus Bolton? I had a look at the founder members of the Premier League and The Football League, there's only three - Villa us and Everton. I really haven't a clue, are there seven clubs which have secret nick names after the seven dwarves? With Rovers being "Grumpy"? Bob gets the first half of the equation! (sort of) I knew you'd be one of those on top of this. However, there are 13 clubs that have won all three domestic trophies at least once. What's so "special" about 7 of them?
tchocky Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 What's so "special" about 7 of them? The dwarf thing. No?
ally Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 see today in the sun that Sunderland are after Paul Scholes for only 2 million. Doesnt mean he will actually go. also remember the influx of hargreaves, nani and anderson in recently. If ferguson was reluctant to let him go im sure hughesy could persuade him that blackburn is a much better option than sunderland. Would be an immense player if he did come
herbergeehh Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 No way will they let Scholes go, even with Hargreaves coming in. He's arguably been their most important player this season, and probably will be next season aswell. £2m? Now why would they consider a bid like that?
John Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I could be proved wrong, but the Scholes story going around today shows we are well and truly in the silly season. Why the hell would Man Utd want to sell arguably their best player this season? Secondly, why would he want to go when he is playing so well? Granted they have bought the two young lads recently, but it is all about building for the future. Ferguson gets rid of players when he feels they have gone over the hill, and that is certainly not the case with Scholes. Just seems a ridiculous story.
den Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 LET at it again. They report Chelsea will move for McCarthy and Pedersen, who has a clause in his contract, is wanted by Spurs. Read all the hogwash here. Oh for another Peter White.

MCMC1875 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Don't know who Gary York is but the story appears in today's Sun - almost word for word.
mike at picture Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Don't know who Gary York is but the story appears in today's Sun - almost word for word. Gary York did a few Burnley reports last season I think. Andy Nield seems to have periods when he is conspicuous by his absence and there dosn't appear to be a regular Burnley correspondant either. Sports Dept at LT requires an overhaul.
modes98 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 LET at it again. They report Chelsea will move for McCarthy and Pedersen, who has a clause in his contract, is wanted by Spurs. Read all the hogwash here. The Rovers winger is reported to have a release clause in his contract, which has tempted a number of clubs following his terrific run of form towards the end of last season. I must have missed that. His last goal was 3rd february! As for chelsea, they have signed pizarro and i assume that'll be it unless someone leaves. Stronger voices about lampard leaving but after last nights performance i'm not sure thats a bad thing.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 LET at it again. They report Chelsea will move for McCarthy and Pedersen, who has a clause in his contract, is wanted by Spurs. Read all the hogwash here. Oh for another Peter White. Given the fact that our manager has already publicly stated in the LT about three weeks ago none of our players have "clauses" this year, (and the paper are very well aware of this) the very least they should do is run it by the Club for clarification before simply reproducing such tripe. The story should then read "We understand that contrary to previous claims we understand MGP does actually have a "clause" in his contract allowing him to ....................etc etc" or "Reports in National newspapers claiming that MGP has a "clause" in his contract are well wide of the mark ..........................etc etc " or at the very least if they can't get any comment from the club they should say "Reports have surfaced in the national press over the weekend claiming MGP has a "clause" in his contract which is of course runs contrary to what manager Mark Hughes stated recently when he revealed exclusively to the LT that that was not indeed the case with any of his players this season." Really really poor reporting and whether or not Gary York is a Burnley fan and isn't fully up to speed with goings on down at Rovers it's a case of the left hand not knowing what the right one is doing.
John Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I am sure Hughes said there are no clauses in McCarthy's contract, not there are no clauses in any of our players contracts. Can someone clarify....
doctorryan Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 No, he said no clauses period with any of our players; and he said it quite plainly.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I am sure Hughes said there are no clauses in McCarthy's contract, not there are no clauses in any of our players contracts. Can someone clarify.... Although on a quick trawl I can't find the exact quote from Sparky I'm sure it was: "There are no clauses for any of our players this season" Which leaves things possibly open to interpretation for 12 months time but if true should preclude a cut price swoop for any of our players this summer. Edit : Or that might be too negative an interpretation and it might just mean this season (as opposed to last season when there was) I'm going for a lie down...........................
John Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 “He’s not getting sold – there’s no clauses this year,” Hughes said. “He will be missing his family towards the end of a season, but it won’t affect any decisions made over his football. “There will always be people checking, but he’s not available full stop. I’m sure people have been asking indirectly and interest registered, but I get that every summer. I had to knock back interest in all my good players last summer and I expect the same this time.” Hughes could have been referring to the fact that Roberts, McCarthy and the rest of our recent summer signings had no clauses in their contracts.

pksrover Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Mourinho happy with squad hopefully he won't change his mind and make a move for McCarthy

Right - (takes deep breath and makes mental note that must get out more) - to be fair to the LT I've checked back and can only find stories they've printed about there being no clause in Benni's contract. An almost identical quote from Sparky about there being no clauses in contracts this year appeared on Skysports web site. I still think though that as our local paper the LT should check this sort of stuff out properly before idly regurgitating national Press gossip offloading all our best players elsewhere.
