It goes on to say that they remember the way he used to refer to the ribble valley as emerdale!!!

If this is meant to imply that he doesn't like living in the area, then what a stupid, ignorant comment by the london based journalist (or player). Bellamy can live in exactly the same house if he plays for Liverpool, Manchester United or little old Blackburn Rovers from oop t'North! There lack of geographical knowledge is astonishing sometimes.

I find the Koumas situation interesting with relation to possible things to come.

Apparently, Newcastle and Reading are in for Koumas now, along with Celtic and half the Premiership.

This is a good example of what we are facing this summer - only 2-3 clubs would pay £4-6 million for Koumas in the past, but because of new owners and the TV deal, you have around 8 clubs who can actually afford him (Sunderland, Reading, Newcastle, Villa, West Ham etc).

For example, this time last season Reading would not have been able to afford Koumas (or to spend a large proportion of their budget on one player).

Probably just filling up paper space but i've wondered why Robbie Savage hasn't spoken up about how much craig would be welcome back as he seems to have something to say on most matters!!! ....I expect to hear from rob soon!?!

Might have to wait a bit because he's in Spain on holiday with his family. He flew to Malaga last week - my son checked him in.

A bargain was to be had when Koumas was having problems at West Brom (under Robson, I believe), the fans were unhappy with him and he could have been signed for a relatively small fee. Anyone who wants him now are going to have to pay a large sum - how many other creative, skilful central midfielders are there in the Championship?

Ped not for sale, Brum not after Jeffers. Haestad - nothing happening.

Exciting stuff then, with nothing happening all at once. I get the Telegraph delivered anyway so I'll not read that link now. I'll read the negative spin the LT put on anything BRFC when I get home tonight.

Get your money on Wigan to be relegated as soon as you can before their odds collapse...

Wigan sign former Magpie Bramble

Dave Whelan really is assembling a dream team at the JJB. Chris Hutchings, Emile Heskey and Titus Bramble.

Thats Wigan leaking a hat full of goals then. I've seen cruise ships turn faster than Bramble. I don't know who is worse, him or Amoruso !

By the way, anyone know what happened to the big lolloping Italian ?

While appreciating that Reid, Savage and Ooijer coming back will be like having 3 new signings, and without wanting to be linked with every Tom, Dick or Harry, I do find it a little concerning that the tabloids are not really linking us with any one of great stature

I know it's early days and that we have seen the usual Bellamy in, MGP and Benni out stories, but I do hope Hughesy is secretly plotting 2 or 3 much needed quality additions to the squad because, without repeating all that's been said before, more wins v the bottom teams would have seen us qualify for Europe automatically !

C'mon Sparky....give the season ticket sales a boost and sign us some more superstars !

Think people need to start having a bit of belief in Sparky - the proof is in the pudding and he has already proven what he is capable of on a faily limited budget. A bit more coffers in his hand and I'm sure he will have somebody lined up (as confirmed by himself as having targets) lined up) that will be gems beneficial to the team and possibly pulled out of his magic hat, that, beside possible Bellamy, are not names being bandied about by every tom dick and harry.

I wouldn’t worry, we'll have to buy at least one decent striker and I think Hughes will concentrate his efforts there.

If Bellamy goes to West Ham, it will be another example of a player going just fo the money. If he signs for us, he knows the players already, has a good rapport with the manager and also has the prospect of playing in Europe

90,000 pw (as allegedly offered to Johnson by whu) and who cares about the knowing the players and the inter toto?

Lets also examine Bellamy's character here, we all know that he thinks he is above playing for small' clubs like BRFC and imo he and his agent will be using our intention to re-sign him as a back stop / safety net.

Well go on then; I'll have a go: I think by "special 7" you mean the 7 clubs in the EPL that the media despise the most, mainly because they don't have enough supporters.

Never mind, deleted.

Do they ever really? I mean, come on we are lil ol Blackburn Rovers, the whipping boys of the prem, the only team in the prem where ref's enforce rules by the book at every opportunity, we piiped ManU to the title. We can not buy big name players as far as they are concerned we are only a selling club, just in the prem to make up the numbers. Who really F in cares about glamour signings Sparky has shown he can operate on a tight budget and bring in very good players. Perhaps not eh finished article when he get's 'em but they improve and become effective.

What's all this talk of Koumas? if it was going to happen it would have happened a season or two ago, when he was unsettled and relatively inexpensive. Writing off Dunn and saying Koumas is better is somewhat premature, it will be interseting to see how Dunny is with a full pre-season under his belt (assuming there will be room) he has not had a good run of games so let's see how Dunny does.

If we don't sign anybody, don't lose anybody and get our injured players back to match fitness, then I'd call it a pretty good summer.

I think that's a very negative viewpoint, hopefully one which is not shared by Mark Hughes and the Board.

If we don't sign anyone our existing "stars" will be more inclined to want to leave.

IF (and we haven't managed it in recent seasons) we can retain our star players AND bring in a player of real quality like Bellamy that will represent real progress.

Over to our 600k p.a Chief Executives.............................

To be honest I love the way Hughes and the board keeps their mouth shut regarding our transfer targets. Perhaps we could sell some more sesason tickets at an earlier stage if the club went public saying what starswe are after, but that might result in us not getting these players. We all know Hughes will pull off at least one big signing before the end of the transfer window, be patient... :rover:

What you describe would be a very good summer.

To my mind (without knowing how much we have to spend without selling first) our priority should be hanging on to the players we have.
