  1. 1. Have your say on the summer transfer window.

Could this be true, just seen it on the transfer rumours page on the sky website

My mate who works at Ewood Park has been told that Obafemi Martins will sign for Blackburn Rovers in a cash plus player deal.

Martin Simms - Gateshead

Not bad, depending on who the player is of course and the amount.

If West Ham are relegated after Mondays meeting, will the £7million transfer of Parker be null and void and what of the other proposed deals would they too be sunk(or would these highly paid players be forced to suck it up and play in the fizzy pop league?)?

I would love to see it happen(and it would temporoarily cut thes ridiculously high salaries they are allegedly offering)

Lol, been a long day. I completely confused myself...

I thought you were just alluding to the new directive from the FA that states...

Article 19.66 - Law Unto Themselves

In line with previous judgements, West Ham United are above and beyond all other laws governing the FA. Therefore, if they request the transfer of a player and the said player's current club declines said transfer, or the said player refuses to move to West Ham United, said West Ham United will be entitled to compensation from any subsequent club purchasing their intended target. Such payment must be in excess of £5m or, be a player of West Ham United's choosing.

This artcle recognises the needs of West Ham United fans are significantly more important than any other club.

Going back to Barton his move to the barcodes went through today and the transfer fee miraculously shot up from 5.5m to 5.8m.

So looks like Newcastle eventually caved in and agreed to pay the extra 300k which City will then hand over to Barton.

I'd imagine they'll stick around. With the kind of money they have they can still afford to keep paying salaries and such, and they'd pretty much be guaranteed promotion. If you look at Juve, they obviously had to sell some big names, but the squad they had was still very good, simply because a lot of them knew they'd get back up straight away so didn't feel like they had to leave. Juve had some real superstars when they went down; Vieira, Zambrotta, Emerson, Ibrahimovic, Cannavaro, who felt they had to leave. West Ham only have one; Tevez. Even without Tevez they're a lock for promotion.

Wigan has signed Mario Melchiot on a free.

At least they seem to know they need new players to survive the difficult second season. Not quite sure about the ones they have signed, though...

Ha Ha. I have just seen an interview with their manager on SSN and he was talking like this is the biggest signing in years.....did he not get released from Birmingham?

Wigan need goals, they only just survived last year but unless they get a striker to score 15 or so prem goals they will go down this year. Sunderland and Birmingham are both likely to do pretty well so it could be a tough season.
