I believe that there was a typo on Sky Sports website. It was a 'Wayne Kerr', who reported this rumour!!

Obafemi Martins?

I think that would be an alright signing.

Bellamy looks likey to go to Villa or West Ham.

Lets face it though, this summer is all about keeping hold of the players we already have, McCarthy/Pedersen/Savage if we don't make any signings we at least know that the current squad is strong enough to finish in the top half.

There's no chance of Martins signing for us...

I don't think there is any doubt that Craig Bellamy is the no.1 target for us. In fact I would think hanging on to the existing staff and signing him alone would represent an excellent, excellent summer.

Listening to JW on Radio Lancs the other evening, it would appear Rovers are prepared to wait to get their targets. There was no specific reference to Bellamy, but I am sure that was what JW was getting at.

If we bid for Bellamy now - two things will happen. 1) West Ham will offer more money and 2) Villa will offer more money. Under those circumstances it is highly unlikely Bellamy would sign for Rovers. However, if we bide our time and hope Villa and W'Ham sign a striker or two as W'Ham bearly did with Darren Bent, perhaps we would then become the front runners. At present we are thrid in a three horse race.

I suspect the same if happening with alot of players. I think we have to be prepared to wait. Sadly, waiting to sign players does not sell ST's, nor does hanging on to your existing staff.

I think we will wait, and i think we should wait, because at the moment anyone we bid for, will end up being outbidded by one of those mentioned above.

I think we are best waiting until those clubs waste big chuncks of money 1st. Come on £16 million For Bent, + Mullins and 75k week is pathetic!! @ the moment we havent got the same financial clout to compete with Wham & Villa

'Biding our time' wont make any difference mate, the chances are we will get outbid anyway. Its becoming increasingly clear that the shysters known as Liverpool will sell to the highest bidder whoever and not back to the club who rolled over for them in the first place so nicely.....no decency in football anymore

So just who the hell is available then of decent quality? Nugent looks a prospect but all Preston want is a price war on their player to begin.

This could all be very frustrating indeed for Mark Hughes and fans alike.

I think Bellamy would choose us over West Ham, its just whether he would choose Hughes over O'Neill!?!

Nugent is off to Sunderland i would imagine. Koumas is too expensive! Isnt looking too good is it? But Hughes will have the tricks up his sleeve!

I wouldn't touch Nugent at the prices being mentioned.

I would be tempted to take a chance on Sharp or possibily Izale Mcleod. Both have done nothing but score goals for the past couple of seasons. Sharp, I think has just 1 year to run on his deal. Again, those two won't sell ST's or excite most people but let's be realistic, we only have a certain amount of 'pulling' power.

I am convinced if we play the Bellamy game correctly he will come home. That though will take time.

Anything you'd like to tell us, Eddie? What's changed?

Well really the more I think about it the less keen I am on signing a player for, most probably, a loss who is coming off of the back of a very poor season. He cleary has attitude problems, has never been a prolific goalscorer and we can probably expect that he'd become our highest earner if he joined. I just don't know if we'll get the same player that we first had and that there are probably better deals out there.

I don't think anyone is obsessed with Bellamy. There are those on here who'd really like to see him come back and there are those who don't care one way or the other, but I doubt whther the people in the positions to do anything about it are putting all their eggs in one basket. The management team will be looking at all the possibilities and will know far better than us who is available, who they might pursue and the odds on thir getting their targets. Last year we all watched the pursuit of Mido, but got McCarthy. This year could be similar, with Bellamy being a definite target but one we perhaps realise is unlikely to happen unless certain other things do.

its being reported Yakubu can leave Borough for around £8m. With Bellamy costing around the same money, perhaps the more powerful less injury prone and more natural goalscorer Yakubu could be a better option. Thats if we can afford him.

He's overweight, though, from what I've seen. There's no way the chaps fit IMO and if that's the

case the inuries will come.

I miss Craig and I think he would form a great partnership with Benni so I think we should try our best to get him back. :tu:

But I agree with Billy and gumboots about the obsessive thing. I named a budgie my gran used to have Craig after him (I know it's a bit sad) and it had to be put down after a few months.

I wonder if that's a message...hmm... <_<
